I found something out about him. He did indeed survive being ripped in two thanks to Ratchet.

If you go to Transformers.com and search Jazz in the battle bio's, search his personal data tracks. It says he was revived. I guess there's no need to be sad anymore~ 3nodding

Depends on the source.

Some places say that he survived being torn in two since he wasn't offline merely Status Locked (Ala the explanation for Optimus in Fallen from both the book and Graphic Novel) and was repaired.

However, in the kids book Megatron eats his Spark (Nice chap!!) and you can't come from back from that.

It seems unlikely that they'll bring him back for 3 since he didn't make even a flash back appearance in Fallen which is a shame because he was awesome.

Yeah, in the novel Megatron had plunged his hand into his spark chamber and ripped out his spark. He was awesome though, I myself wishes he will come back...

Despite being very badly written the books did rather own the films when it came to information.

And then of course the graphic novels were legendary.

There's a Jazz story in the 'Quest for the All Spark' graphic novel.

Given that I'm in the UK and therefore hated by most comic book sellers I had to get mine off Amazon, I'm waiting for my 'Best of the UK' compilation to arrive tomorrow.
