im seeing it more and more in the games i play. last few games ive been playing they allowed you to have a homosexual relationship. some characters are even bisexual.
needless to say ive been playing dragon age alot recently and it just got me thinking. the sad part is is that im always shocked to see homosexuality in games and the media

shocks me all the time, too! what i hate is when they're stereotypical. however, i've yet to play a videogame with this!

zevran from dragon age was accused of being stereotypical becasue he is a slut (a very sexy slut) but with his background story it makes sense that he is that way so i dont mind it there. take a guess which guy i always choose on that game lol
and for overly gay guys on games i dont mind at all becasue most of the gay men ive known have been that flamboyant about their sexuality so to me it just seems normal i guess XD

In some of the Mario games, the Mario bros seem to be like the Bert and Ernie of video games except that they're bi (they both got female love interests). Early in Bowser's Inside Story, Luigi gushes out tears after Mario rescues him and he puts his hands of Mario's butt. In one of Luigi's dairy entries in Paper Mario, he wrote that he secretly wants to be on the top of the bunk bed, which could be symbolic of something else.
I'm pretty sure that Neku from The World Ends with You is bisexual. I used to think that Joshua could only either be gay or bi, but now I'm pretty sure that it's possible that he's straight or asexual. Joshua is pretty manipulative and since he somehow knows Neku's sexuality, he became a form that Neku would like and made him fall in love with him to fulfill his purposes.
In Another Day, Joshua told Neku that the reason that he (Neku) see's Shiki as he does instead of seeing her true self is because Neku refuses to see that like how he refused to realize that he lost to Joshua in Tin Pin Slammer and it instantly made him think that he never played that match. I forgot exactly how Joshua worded it, because he probably mentioned that Neku was the only one who saw Shiki like that. Like with losing Tin Pin Slammer, maybe Neku subconsciously screened out the parts where Joshua said that Shiki and (depending on what his sexuality is) himself see her that way, because Neku doesn't want Shiki to suffer for thinking that she was somebody she was not and if Joshua saw her that same way, then Neku gets jealous easily.
Joshua clearly mentions Shiki's green skirt when he compliments it. If it's because he sees her that way, then it means that Joshua would be either bi or straight. If he doesn't and he's just messing with Shiki, then Joshua could be any of the possibilities, because you don't have to like every girl if you're bi or straight.
Thinking about it, I like going with the theory that Joshua is asexual. If he was any other sexuality, then he'd *spoilers*be giving off the same vibes that a middle aged man who pretends to be younger than he really is to bang kids and/or look at their gentiles in a web cam. It sounds a bit messed up for an angel who's possibly a thousand or more years of experience to want to have sex with a couple of fifteen year olds.*end spoilers* Even though he doesn't have a sex drive, Joshua would still want Neku to acknowledge his own attractions to men, but he'd also have fun doing that as well. dX3K

And the Phoenix Wright series, which is more like intentional innuendo and subtext than out and out gay. ("Mia and I [an attractive character] had an 'intellectual attraction.'" "You've caused me some unnecessary...feelings." "I've never felt this way towards a man before." When you show a profile of a man to Larry in the third game, he talks about how he doesn't feel that way towards guys, although he might make an exception...I gotta look at the quote for this again on my DS tonight. Phoenix/Edgeworth is practically canon...at one point you can accuse a character of having a secret gay love affair with another character...) LOVE those games. <3
