I just bought a black Harmony Strat (no clue what year) from a vintage dealership near my house and i'm thinking about hot rodding it for this years King of the Blues competition at Guitar Center. I want to change out the pickguard (since the current one is kinda bad) (its an 8 screw one, so i think that would fall under the heading of vintage strat replacement???).
I'm going to definitely change out the stock pickups for either Seymour Duncan lipstick tube style single coils or going to use some sort of noiseless variety. And lastly i wish to switch to a Floyd Rose style bridge instead of the current one (since the current one is a bit rusty, but i want to install the Floyd Rose one as a floating bridge system).
All in all, i want it to be geared more towards blues tone. If anyone has any suggestions on what kind of pickups would be best, it would be much appreciated. Also, if there are any other suggestions, feel free to speak your mind on it!
Thanks!
