It was announced that former NFL player and Wrestling star Bill Goldberg will be inducted into the National Jewish Hall of Fame April 18th in New York City.

It was also noted that Goldberg will be inducted as a former NFL football player, and not for his work as a former WCW/WWE wrestler.

As a fan of Goldberg I am happy that he is getting this honor, but I do have to wonder, his career in the NFL was short and plagued with injuries. He wasn't bad, but the injuries did keep him from having a long, sucsessful career in the NFL. So even though he is being inducted as an NFL player, would he even be inducted if it wasn't for the influence of his sucsessful wrestling career?

Regardless of the case as it may, I congradulate Bill Goldberg on his achievement.

For a second there, I thought you were talking about the WWE hall of fame. I figured it was an early April fool's prank, and I laughed pretty hard at it.

But he's going into the Jewish hall of fame, like, for real? Good for him.

"Yes, I am in negotiations with the WWE. Looks like ole Hogan and TNA missed the boat. Shame for the fans they didn't even try. Anyone got any issues on the TNA side I suggest you bring it up with them. Truth is I never thought I'd even consider it...then came my son. No one said I'd wrestle but the door is open to again."

Savage and Raven just to name two

Savage I'd love to see in the ring again (though he's been injury prone lately) but Raven is an overweight shadow of his former self.

As for goldberg, even he admits he's not very skilled in the ring, and promoters like JR made it a point to make his matches short so it wasn't focused on. His persona and pure strength in the ring though sells tickets.

I remember a big reason he left WWE was the way women were portrayed as sexual objects and all the adult subject matter in storylines. With the current PG rating they've done he may be more comfortable working with them again.
