*((Of course it's okay! ^_^ ))

[Pebbleheart felt the sudden pressure against her chest, feeling Harpy's talon putting more pressure into her chest. With her arms in an awkward position, she tried to claw Harpy's talon but felt her arm was about to snap with a single move. Pebbleheart was a hopeless deputy...useless. Pebbleheart glared at Harpy with fierce eyes, her chest starting to tighten and burn. Parting her lips, all she can say was painful whimpers, her hind legs struggling. Only a hateful glare was shown from Pebbleheart, feeling stress, pressure and worry. Was she going to die? A small lump started to come up her throat, as she opened her mouth to cough out blood. She could feel the pressure loosening only a bit, enough for her to say a few words.] "...H-Harpy...you....savaged...crow..." Pebbleheart coughed out. [She begged Siren to push Harpy off of her, feeling she can't move unless she wants to break a leg. Pebbleheart managed to slide a couple of her claws against the bird's talons, but felt it was hopeless. Galestar, i've failed to be your deputy...please forgive me.]*

I will fight for truth and try to find...

Echo

Your shadow bled
into the ground
and when you cried out
nowhere to be found...

+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=

[Echo sighed.

Avalon was deteriorating. The strong golden eagle had never backed down, never given up, but Galestar seemed to be her only weakness. Echo couldn't believe why the she-eagle was so dependent on the cat's survival. The whole flock agreed that some had come to protect the cats from the fight that was supposed to be between birds only. That no innocent souls should suffer the consequence of birdkind's quarrels. Especially since the Clan they were guarding seemed to be closer to the wind spirits than the others. But Galestar? Avalon had adopted him as her child, but what of it? Many of the flock's children were senselessly murdered by Talon's flock, and yet Avalon stood strong. Only now did she crumble. Maybe she would finally understand the heartbroken mothers (whose children were killed) whom she regarded as weak-willed.

Echo swiveled her head, remorse flowing through her. She could not save Galestar. It was a miracle that she had penetrated Talon's forces once, but she could never do it again. It was most likely that Raven discovered how Echo had sneaked in and eliminated that chance from being a possibility. To attempt it would be suicide. Echo had only left before because there was a chance, though a slim one, but now none existed...

Now more than ever she felt the fierce need to protect these cats from unnecessary harm.

Almost as if on que (nooo idea how to spell that lol), a sound echoed through the forest. Echo swooped and landed on a branch, her flight interrupted. She sat straight, swiveling her head in the direction of the noise. If it weren't for her hearing, the noise would have passed for a catfight or perhaps animal fight, but she could hear the most distant sounds through the echoes of the shadows. Shadow, her dead mate, had taught her so long ago. Narrowing her eyes, she leaned forward and concentrated on the noise.

It was definitely screeching.

In a flash, she swooped low into the sparse trees and darted among the shadows, speeding towards the sound. Finally she saw a huddle of movement. As she raced towards it, shapes formed out of the amorphous blob of colors. She saw talons and feathers flying, and a golden she-cat near the fray. Pebbleheart?! she realized. As she neared, the fight broke apart and Harpy darted at Pebbleheart. Echoe's eyes sharpened on the scene.

Without thinking, she knew her goal.

Sirin plummetted and smashed into Harpy. As she pulled away, Echo leaped from the shadowy trees and swooped, reaching out with her talons. Her goal was not to injure. She slammed into Harpy and knocked her off of Pebbleheart., but to protect. Swiveling her body around in a circle as the world spun, Echo landed neatly on her talons, knelt on the ground with her wings spread wide above Pebbleheart.]

"Stay back," she said simply, her eyes fierce. "You will not touch this one."

[Galestar was as good as dead, but according to Avalon, Pebbleheart was next in line to be leader. That meant that if both Pebbleheart and Galestar died, the Clan would fall to ruin, or close to it. So because Galestar was a lost cause, Pebbleheart was Echo's next concern. The cat must stay alive. At all costs.]

(( Echo is one of those cold calculators...she sees everything as missions and goals instead of people and feelings. ><

Not that she's not Pebbleheart's friend...but she's not exactly the best friend to have...>> She's possessive I guess you could say, in place of noble or courageous. o__o" She's also quite prideful..

I tried to make her faults more obvious here. I'm trying to flaunt my character's faults more often. I find it accents their good qualities, while avoiding forcing them to become "god-like" in infallability. >> ))

[Harpy snickered sadistically to herself, feeling Siren's rage with her and the squirming pain of her rival beneath her talons. All seemed right with the world. That was, until what seemed to be a bolt of feathered lightning swooped out form the winter sky and struck her off her feet. At first she thought it was some trick from Siren, but gasped to see Echo instead. Siren struck seconds after but missed, Echo having knocked Harpy out of the way of her struck a heartbeat before she could reach her. She landed inches away from Pebbleheart and looked the cat in the eyes. This eye contact did not last long though as she quickly turned to face the two eagles. Immediately she recognized the she eagle as an assassin from Avalon's flock. She ruffled her feathers at the presence of this new enemy. She didnt complain though, seeing as she was targeting the traitor. Harpy backed away, her confidence crumbled now being outnumbered by three enemys at once. She had no idea what to do next. If she failed to kill Siren now she had no idea what would be in store for her if she ever got back to the flock. She would have to trick Echo.]

"Echo? What are you doing here!? You came just in time! I have seen the true way of Talon and tried to leave, to warn you of his evil plot, but Siren, his loyal minion, tried to stop me, keep me silent."

[Siren's beak dropped from sheer shock! Was she planing to really betray Talon!? They leader who would give everything for them!?]

"WHAT!?"

[She shrieked out in shock. Harpy shrieked back in angry defiance.] "NO SIREN! I will NOT remain silent anymore! You cannot hide the truth! I wont let anymore innocent souls suffer due to his tyranny!"

*((I love how unique Echo's personality is :3 ))

[Pebbleheart felt the end has come, but then hope shined in her eyes as the reflection of Echo was shown on the surface of Pebbleheart's eyes. The next thing she knew, Pebbleheart was hidden under the massive wings of Echo's, feeling her heart race. She was saved...she was saved!!! Pebbleheart glared at Harpy, still feeling the urge to claw at her beak. With amount of courage, she stood up but then collapsed, feeling her ankle being strucked with pain. The deputy winced and yowled in pain, noticing how impossible it was to move it. How?! How did her ankle get injured?! And at a time like this! Pebbleheart hissed, but felt her eyes wide with shock as she starred at Harpy...she was innocent. Siren was the evil one?! She was the one who betrayed her flock? But how? She saved Pebbleheart and warned Harpy not to harm her..but on the other paw, Harpy looks completely serious. Pebbleheart was too shocked, not being able to speak. She only looked up at Echo, wondering what the eagle's response is going to be.]*

+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=

"Interesting," Echo said coolly, "seeing as you were attacking Pebbleheart, your story makes complete sense."

[Echo's sarcasm dripped with distaste. She never liked Harpy. The short-tempered bird reminded her all too much of how she used to act...completely selfish and foolish. One would think that Echo would be compassionate for such birds, having understood the experience, but she despised them with a passion. It only made her acknowledge how kind Shadow had been to put up with her persistent doting. Through trying to mentor Echo in being true to herself, the male eagle had fallen in love with her, and Echo had fallen in true love in return (whereas her former love was more of a female-ish {girly?} crush).

Standing straight, Echo twitched her wings, flicking the specks of snow off of them, and folded them slowly to her side. Her powerful stance was protective over Pebbleheart and Pebbleheart alone.]

"I don't care why you're here nor what business you have with Harpy. My job is to protect Pebbleheart." Echo's eyes narrowed as she added, "And that is what I shall do. What you and Sirin are quarreling over is another matter, but you will not remain anywhere near this Clan. I will tell Avalon of your arrival and she will send our fastest eagles on your trails faster than you can squeak. She's not playing around anymore, especially after Galestar was catnapped."

[Echo's eyes narrowed and she snorted, ruffling her feathers.]

"So I'd best gather up your tailfeathers and fly away from here as fast as you can and end your fight elsewhere. You both have no place waltzing in these areas anymore. We've got guards on all of Talon's flockmembers' trails, and you should be spotted by other guards soon even if I don't alert Avalon. You are hunted like rabbits now."

Huffing, Echo added casually, "In fact, it would be of my great benefit to capture you alive, if not for the fact that Pebbleheart is in danger."

Tilting her head, Echo stated, "Therefore. The point of all of this is that you'd better take your good fortune and get. Away. From. Here."

She leaned forward and stabbed the air in demonstration as she uttered a deeper, darker, "Now."

(( It's true that there are eagle guards posted around to try and capture Talon's flock members about Galestar's whereabouts. No more freely flyin around for dem eagles. :c ))

[Harpy huffed at Echo's unexpected arrogance.] "That cat has nothing to do with weather or not i am in league with Talon. Before Avalon raised one as her own they were nothing but pray! You birds are so soft its unsettling!" [Siren listened to the assassin's words with growing furry. She would NOT be forced about by some bird who was not even in her own flock.]

"I will NOT leave on your command Echo. I am not one of your underlings you can coldly push about. I am my own bird. As for your guards so be it. You can raise the bar for this war as high as you want as long as you are willing to lose more of your assassins in the crossfire."

[The coldness in Echo's voice bothered her greatly. She herself had changed, from a cold blooded killer to a more conscious and aware bird. She had learned much from Fester, more then she would have liked. Harpy could sense the rage for Echo boiling within Siren. Silently she began to plot, in hopes of turning this completely around, if at best having the two kill each other, getting rid of the problem entirely.]

"I could care less about your guards. Talon has his own ways of getting information from your flock. In fact let them come, that way i can share the information i have without fear of being silenced by that crow Siren! I only hope that Avalon would be willing to listen to reason. Unlike Siren i do not wish for war. All i want to do is warn you before it is too late!"

[Before Harpy could say any more a huge shadow eclipsed the light in the sky as Roc descended into the snow, sinking in due to his sheer size. His harsh look descended upon the three She eagles.] "Ze Roc huz come fur Ze run away assassinez. We go home naw yes?" [Somehow how he said his words it didnt sound like a request. Siren was pleased to see him, but Harpy was not.] Did... did he follow me or was he sent after me? No, he must have followed, Talon would have sent Raven and her shadows. oh no... what if she is watching now, what if the shadows saw the whole thing!? "I.... I am not going back Roc. I, I want to help Avalon instead...." [She said meekly to the muscular giant of a bird before her. Roc looked at her with mild puzzlement.]

"Ze Roc dose not find diz wize. BUT ze Roc vill not Forze yu aganzed your vill. COME Siran!!" [The Roc spread his huge wingspan ready to take flight. Siren glared at Harpy, feeling resentment and felt strongly on staying. Roc turned to look and see that both she eagles stayed firmly planted on the ground.] "Siran, do you not vish to see Feaster again. He is voried sick. For hiz sake, come home." [Siren muttered, it was unfair that he would bring Fester into this. She glared at the large bird, showing her discomfort in him using him against her as she sighed.] ".....fine."

[Echo whipped her head around to face Sirin, her eyes glinting.]

"This has nothing to do with me pushing you around, Sirin," she said slowly. "You should know very well that you are not welcome here. These lands hold nothing but danger for you. If you want to be of use to your flock, coming here without backup is suicide. I was trying to warn you. Believe it or not, we were once flockmates and I still have unease in harming you especially, but it's obvious you're not the same bird anymore. So be it. But harm Pebbleheart no further-"

[Before she could continue, a snowy white flash erupted from the sky, slamming into Harpy and pinning her down. Great golden wings ascended from the sky as Avalon swooped, claws outstretched to capture Sirin as well. Birds flocked her side and spread out, barreling into Roc and pushing him back. Surprisingly, they were not attacking him-merely blocking him. Blizzard, the white bird who had erupted from the sky, pushed Harpy's beak into the snow, pinning her down from the back with her sharp talons gripped around the bird's spine, warning that if she tried to move she would be killed. Avalon easily held Sirin down, flicking her eyes from Harpy to Sirin. Her own shadows had warned her that the birds had arrived and were fighting, which was surprising to her. Harpy did not attack underlings without serious cause. She glanced at Roc, a strange look in her eye. Something seemed to click in her mind and she stooped over Sirin, cawing in warning to him, but her eyes seemed to display a different message to him and him alone.

Echo twitched her wings, uninterested in the fight that erupted. A "told you so" was not necessary. They knew full well. She turned to Pebbleheart and prodded the cat.]

"You aren't hurt, are you? Next time you decide to attack birds, get backup."

[Siren listened to Echo's words, surprised that she still cared despite their separation among the flocks. The golden she eagle looked over at Pebbleheart as she spoke.] "I never came here to harm her. She came on her own. What Harpy bares against her personally i am unsure of..." [Before she could bid her adue she was tackled to the ground as well as her associates. Harpy squawked in surprise at just how quickly they had descended upon them. Roc, despite his situation remained calm and sturdy as the bolder he was. Siren glared up at Avalon, anger in her eyes. She moved slightly, feeling helpless and small. How would she ever protect the flock as second in command if she could bee so easily jumped? Harpy squawked pleas of peace, attempting to reason. Roc, however just stared blankly forward, into the eyes of his flock's arch nemesis. For a while they glared at each other, until finally, he spoke.] "Ze snow falz bizzfuly down to iz doom. Ti snaged in ze treez, but remainz unharmed, until Ze summar sun meltz it away." [he spoke seemingly off winged, inspecting his talons as he spoke. His gaze returned to hers.] "I vuld be carful if Ze Roc ver yoh. It iz vury eazy tu get caught up in Ze falling Snuw. Wouldent yoh agree Avalon?" [Before she could respond Roc flung his wings open, throwing his capters back. Quickly he sprung forward, knocking Avalon off of Siren as she fell into the cold snow.] "Ve gho now yes?" [Siren nodded eagerly.] "Yu-ya. We go now." [Quickly the two disappeared into the snowy sky, disappearing without a trace. Harpy gasped as she watched them disappear.] Did.... did they just DITCH me!?

*[Pebbleheart watched in amazement as Avalon and her crew pinned down the opposing eagles. Their large talons securing their wings, Pebbleheart's eyes wide and impressed. As she heard Echo's words, she looked up at the eagle with a nod, feeling embarrassed with her weak skills. She winced in a bit of pain as she shifted her ankle, but tried ignoring the pain.] "It's just a mild sprain...I can probably limp my way back to camp.." Pebbleheart said. [Her whiskers then twitched with embarrassment as she nodded slowly.] "Y-Yes...i'll probably do that next time." Pebbleheart agreed, in a stuttering tone. [Pebbleheart felt like a fool. A big fool. As a young deputy with only little experience, the absence of her leader seemed to be harder. But she had to stay strong, in order to prove to the others that she is willing to keep them safe.]

[As the sight of Roc escaping the scene with Siren, Pebbleheart's pupils sharpened. She then quickly starred at Harpy, glad at least one eagle was remaining...the one she hates. Pebbleheart wanted to kill her...she wanted to see her blood spill. For her leader and her kit. With a urge to pin down the bird, she remained in her place, knowing she will only get her ankle teared off with a single sprint.]*

[Avalon narrowed her eyes at Roc and squawked when he bowled her over. Jumping to her feet, she flapped a few times, but settled down once she realized they had fled. She held her birds back, shaking her head.]

"No use." she murmured softly.

[Avalon turned back to Pebbleheart, tilting her head. She approached the small creature (( in relation to her size o__o )) and rested her sharp beak gently on the deputy's head, a sign of respect.]

Raising her beak, she said, "You have much courage, little one, but you must remember why your Clan needs you. Courage is nothing when faced by necessity. Try not to be too reckless."

[Avalon rested her sharp gaze on Harpy. Avalon waddled over slowly to the former second-in-command, who was pinned to the ground. Avalon's featherfur rose on her neck and spine and she slowly leaned into the bird's face, peering at her through an angry blue eye.]

(( The rest of this is in birdspeak, a.k.a. Pebbles won't understand : D ))

"You've gotten yourself into quite a fix, bird," she huffed, eyes narrow. "You won't be pampered here. We have a lot to talk about."

Raising her head, Avalon screeched to the rest of her birds, "You have done well! Let us return home with our prisoner. Blizzard, Twigg, Torrent, Aura, and Titan, continue guarding the Clan. The rest of us will head to the nest with our new guest. Blizzard?"

[Blizzard nodded. She raised her head and smashed it into Harpy's, knocking the bird out cold. Blizzard was known for her hard head in more than one way.

Avalon turned to Pebbleheart, nodding.]

"It is best you hurry home, now. Echo will help you home. We must return to business."

[Avalon spread out her gigantuous wings, letting out a shrill cry, and flew into the sky, her troop following her as Titan carried Harpy's limp form.

Echo nodded to Pebbleheart, blinking gently as she extended a talon.]

"Relax now," she soothed, "You do not want me to break your spine. You do not have any extra lives to spare."

[Gently grabbing Pebbleheart, Echo made her way to BreezeClan territory, trailing after Avalon's flock.]

(( Sorry for the auto-grab, asian, but we've got plot to continue. ;3 An eagle event will be happening shortly. ~<3 ))
