I'm reading two books at the moment actually. Both are for school.
The other book I'm reading is "Stum sitter guden" by Anna Jansson. It's a detective story by a Swedish author and I'm not sure if an English translation of the book even exists.
The other one is "Pride and Prejudice" by Jane Austen. I've read this in English before but now.. I must read it in Finnish for some schoolwork, haha.

Tigana by Guy Gabriel Kay (a fantasy novel about a group of rebels trying to overthrow the dictator who has taken over their land) and Great Expectations by Dickens, which is surprisingly somewhat amusing.

They're great.

I'm not currently reading anything (how slack of me.... sweatdrop ) I don't want to make excuses but I'm very busy with uni and other things.

Not really. I'm just so lazy and spend too much time online when I should be reading! razz

Anyway, the more people post, the more suggestions I'm going to get, right? XD

The last book I read was Breaking Dawn from the Twilight Saga. Don't hate me.

Well I recently finished Frankenstein, which I had to read for my history class (don't ask lol). It was actually really good, and although I haven't seen the movie, I imagine they're quite different.

I recently started reading "A Game of Thrones" which is the first book in the "Song of Ice and Fire" series. I just started so I'm not entirely sure what it's about yet, but I started reading it because I heard it was one of the best fantasy series currently out there. Plus I've heard that the author isn't afraid to kill of any main characters which is a huge plus for me because I love it when protagonists die. Most people are too boring to kill them off. D:<

I'm currently re-reading "The Vampire Lestat", by Anne Rice. It's the second book out of ten books of "The Vampire Chronicles." It's basically about the life of, well, Lestat. Who is a vampire. xD

I'm reading a bunch of things...

...and I can explain.

There are many books that I've started reading, but had to put on my waiting list to read others that were mandatory reading. Then I forgot about them, started to read others, and then the cycle repeated itself. gonk

Just finished reading (for self): The Great Triumvirate
It's about 3 American politicians from the first half of the 19th century. smile

Reading for class: The Maltese Falcon
This one is a detective novel from 1930. We're reading it in class to study a bit about characterization.

Currently reading (for self): Crime and Punishment. After this I'll probably finish some of my mythology books and read some of the biographies I have on English and Russian royalty, then do some reading about 19th century American history/politicians, and then finish some of my Douglas Adams books. I also have a few Oscar Wilde plays to read, then I need to finally finish The Divine Comedy...

I have so much to read! ^_^

I'm reading four books right now actually. I'll not try to describe these books since I'm terrible at describing things.

I'm reading (for self):
Dracula by Bram Stoker.
Equal rites by Terry Pratchett. Just started on this one. The third Discworld novel. Yay :]
Goda Omen by Terry Pratchett and Niel Gaiman. The English title is Good Omens.

And I'm also reading Just one Look by Harlan Coben.. for school.

I read a lot of English books right now. sweatdrop

Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami.

Well, it's Haruki Murakami. Where do I even begin to explain? The man is a genius. I love his work. I'm currently reading it in Japanese though, and it's so much better in the original language!
It's basically about the lives of Japanese University students, but the way Murakami tells it... it's amazing. mrgreen It's so mysterious, you're on the outside looking in even though it's told in first person.

Such is Japanese literature.

I'm reading "Den Hedervärde Mördaren" by Jan Guillou. This book is part of his series about the fictional Swedish spy Carl Hamilton who was pro-Palestine and member of the Maoist organization Clarté.

The books tell a good story, but I don't like the writing style very much. The dialogues are very neutral and soulless, with military phrases and little feeling, regardless of who's doing the talking.

What's interesting to note, though, is that the writer was put in prison for espionage when he was a reporter for a magazine back in 1973. If you're interested in learning more, there are convenient links in the wikipedia article about Jan Guillou.
