"Oh boy, oh boy, oh BOY~!" Mirage sang out happily, flopping down happily into the field of flowers and quite immediately after succumbing to the threat of giggles. She rolled back and forth and back again, flailing her limbs wildly as well in order to expel as much energy as possible, before she happily collapsed in a heap of joy and curled up on her side. Gosh, wasn't this just a beautiful day? Mirage nuzzled into the flowers, her giggles dissolving into silence as she merely grinned at the delightful aroma fluttering all around her. This was the life, it was. Her paws carefully crushed a few petals beneath them, bathing them in dampness but also in the pleasant scent. For whatever reason, it made her feel wonderfully luxurious.
In reality, Mirage couldn't imagine anything better that she could spend her time doing, except perhaps playing with various little kits and children and what not. Aye, that would be wonderful. She glanced down toward her fluffy white stomach, flicking her tail curiously against the grass, as she attempted to picture what she might look like when she had children of her own one day. Gosh, that would only be the culmination of her life!
...why did she always think about such random things as that? She smiled again and closed her eyes, nuzzling into the warm, fragrant grass comfortably again.
Wait, what was that?
She perked up immediately at the sound of grass crunching beneath soft paws, her head quirking to the side as one of her ears flopped in the wrong direction over her head. "Hello?" she chirped brightly, smiling in a very welcoming way. Whoever was approaching didn't mean her any harm, she was sure, and it would be even better if they were a little one. Regardless, the grass around her was so tall that in her laying position she couldn't see over it and pinpoint exactly who it was. Oh well. Delays, delays.

Abel was picking flowers, what for he couldn't say. It just seemed like the thing to do, so he was doing it. He hadn't really been paying attention to other possible Datsi's making noises in the field of pretty flowers, so when someone called out, he was surprised. With a mouthful of flower stems, however, he couldn't answer back without dropping them. So he did the next best thing he could think of. Standing, he walked over to where he'd heard the voice, it had been a female's he was sure of it. When he found her laying in the sweet grass, he smiled and laid the flowers down before her. "Hello," he answered finally.

Mirage grinned brightly at the Datsi who snuck through the tall grass and set his flowers beside her. She rolled into a standing stance, hobbling unsteadily for a second, before she giggled and looked at the male once more. "Your colors go together really nicely, you know that?" she chirped, admiring the way that his purple eyes paired with his blue fur. Amusingly enough, there wasn't a single flirtatious quirk in her voice. It was merely an observation, pointed out innocently and naively without any ulterior motives. With that said, Mirage smiled and nodded to him in greeting. "I'm Mirage, by the way. What's your name? I don't think I've met you before, have I? Oh, it'd be so terribly embarrassing if I've forgotten who you are!"
Her mind almost immediately hopped to the next subject, however, as the flowers at the Datsi's feet caught Mirage's eye and drew her attention. "And why are you picking flowers, if you don't mind me asking? Doesn't seem like a really masculine thing to do, does it?" That time she was most definitely teasing, by the lilt in her voice and the spark in her blue eyes. As she drifted her paw over one of the flowers, as light as a baby's breath, she smiled at the soft texture. Positively beautiful. This Datsi certainly couldn't be too bad if he liked flowers, after all.

Abel blushed a bit at the unexpected compliment. "Th-thank you," he murmured. "You're quite pretty, too." He especially liked the star encircling her eye. "Nice to meet you, Mirage, I'm Abel." He smiled then, happy to have met such a pretty Datsi. "I don't think we've met before so no worries." She seemed to ask a lot of questions, but he didn't mind answering them. Sitting down so he was a bit more comfortable, the dark blue Datsi glanced at the flowers he'd picked and then back at Mirage, shrugging. "I dunno. It seemed like a good idea." He paused, thinking that no, it wasn't a very masculine thing to do, but he wasn't caught up by such things. He had a thought then as he looked again from the flowers to the pink and white female before him. Her paw was lightly brushing the pretty flora. "Would you like them?" he asked.

"Oh, really?" Mirage piped up, grinning at him broadly when he offered the flowers to her. "You'd do that? But you just spent all that time picking them!" And yet she stepped toward the blooms and leaned down, taking in a whiff of the fragrance, and knew that she couldn't possibly refuse. They were much too lovely and reminded her of the sunlight, somehow, even though it shined brightly down on them in great ferocity. She tilted her head to the side and smiled at Abel again, her eyes positively sparkling with glee. "You're a wonderful Datsi, Abel. Thanks so much!" And, with that said, she bit the stems and pulled the blossoms closer to her, taking in one last whiff before she very busily went to trying to tuck one of the flowers behind her ear. It was incredibly complicated and doomed to fail from the start, but she still giggled at the process and took it all in stride. Fine. Fie on that. She'd just carry them all back to her hut and have her caretaker there give her a hand.
She glanced up at Abel then and flopped down onto her side, stretching out in the warm tall grass and yawning languidly. "Are you always this nice to random pretty Datsi that you've just met, Abel?" she asked teasingly, peeking up at him from the grass before she rolled over onto her back and stretched once again. It was truly glorious today, not a cloud in sight against the bright blue sky. Why couldn't every day be like this? Why did it have to rain and be sad and get cold sometimes?
Glancing toward the flower blooms, Mirage knew that she had her answer about the rain, at least. Without it, the flowers would never grow. She reached up to bat at the blooms gently, feeling the smoothness of the petals against the pad of her paw once again. Beautiful.

Abel nodded at first, then shrugged. "I have no place to put them," he said sensibly. "Besides, you looked like you flowers." He smiled as she smelled the flowers and nodded when she thanked him. He smiled wider as he watched her trying to put one of the flowers behind her ear. When she gave up, Abel leaned forward and picked one up in his mouth. Taking a step closer to her, he paused and asked, "May I?" The question was muffled around the stem of the flower in his mouth. Not really waiting for her answer, he slipped the flower behind her ear. "There, all better," he smiled. At her next question, he shrugged. "I haven't met very many pretty Datsi's, not like you," he murmured as he watched her stretching on the grass.
