Zane had watched the two come up to him and with a rather annoyed sigh didn’t move. He was still wearing nothing more than a towel and it would be silly to try and stop them when they were so determined. “Be my guest.” You aren’t a threat to me, or to Laura. So it took him no more than shrug and a quirk of his eyebrow as the other woman shifted and slid underneath the door. What if she did end up killing Laura? Well then he’d be free and there wasn’t a thing he could’ve done about it in the first place. Well yeah he could have, but there was no reason to skewer the girl for simply being annoyingly determined. If she wanted to go talk to Laura than she could. So left with her own guardian Zane watched him and yawned. “You obviously know I’m a demon, so don’t you think that you should watch your little goddess a bit more closely? She is still young and even young demons could take her by surprise and consume her soul. It would be wise to make sure she speaks to others with respect, simply because at one point in her life she may actually meet someone who doesn’t have as much patience as I do.”

After that Zane simply watched the other, eyes almost bored but as usual, evaluating. He didn’t find the need to speak anymore since there was nothing he could say that would make them understand that as much power as they had accumulated, if any, did not make them the strongest out there. Ah well, it wasn’t in his place to decide what was and wasn’t proper for the young woman. If he ended up walking along a road and finding her head staked to a pike he’d probably just chuckle. She would have most likely deserved it. His eyes found his way back to the ring he hadn’t taken off his finger and he twisted it absentmindedly, watching the jewel on it sparkle. Oh yes, people thought Zane was vain but they were wrong. He didn’t take in mind his own beauty, he actually didn’t see it due to the fact he absolutely loathed the black tattoo the marked him for what he was. He was shallow. He found beauty in everyone and everything else if they had it. He was also by just a smidgen, slightly insane.

Alright, it was more than just a smidgen but he had most of it under control when he could. It was very difficult to not attempt to verbally assault as well as physically another being for annoying him. People thought he needed to be brought down, and maybe they were right but he knew others that needed to as well. Young women who thought they had it all, who thought that just because they were goddesses that gave them the right to do whatever they please. It was shameful, disgusting. She was arrogant and naïve, one who thought they could take on the entire world and win. Her powers were not nearly as developed as they could be and if Zane oh so wished it, he could be the demon to take her by surprise and consume her soul. That would make Laura angry though. It was one of the many reasons why he wouldn’t tell her that he stored souls in the crimson pendant that hung on his neck. She would want to release them and Zane needed them. They satisfied his hunger and kept him strong when he most desperately needed the strength. Albeit he hadn’t needed to draw upon it yet but there was no harm in taking precautionary steps.

He hadn’t even realized that during his mental rant he was glaring at the other man until the door opened up and in her stern voice he heard Laura politely telling the other woman to get the ******** out. He glanced back and when he saw in her eyes that she wanted the water woman to leave he stood up and smiled down at the intruder. “Well it seems your meeting is done, now I’m afraid whether you like it or not, you have to leave.” Zane took her arm and tugged the sheet she had stolen from his bed away from her form, closing the door before he could see anything. Not that he would have wanted to anyway. He opened his palm of his hand and gathered light but broke it off into millions of little shards and sent them to the doors crack. Water or not, getting past the little needles would be a pain in anyone’s a** due to the fact that the moment a substance touched them that wasn’t Zane or Laura they’d begin to attack. It took energy to keep them up like that but this was his duty after all, making sure that Laura was left alone when she wanted to be. “If they come in again I’ll attack.” He said simply, eyes riveted on the exposed flesh of her skin, though the towel that she wore hid what he would have liked to see most. “You should probably get dressed or continue with your bath. I’ll be over on my bed.” He looked at the sheet he had in his hand with some disdain. It was wet. Out of all the inconsiderate things that woman could have done she got his bed sheet wet. When he looked over to his bed he noticed that his jacket as well as scarf had been carelessly left to the floor. “b***h.” He muttered under his breath towards the inconsiderate actions of the other and draped the blanket across the chair. Ignoring that Laura was there and since he didn’t have any place to change otherwise he dropped his towel with his back faced to her and slipped on his pants. Securing the jacket around himself he ran his hand over the silk scarf and was tempted to make it into the deadly whip that it was but he refrained. He just put it across his neck and went to lie back down on his bed. Without the sheets. Since they were wet. Wonderful.

The Water Walker had put Zane in a very, very bad mood.

"Sir, you don't know my Lady," sighed Jaque in response to Zane's threat. "Whatever she wants to do she is going to do. And, quite frankly she doesn't care what happens to her. She has nothing to lose, and I'm sure you know very well those with nothing to lose don't care what happens to them."

Sighing, Jaque added with a smile, "She's taken on demons before and managed to get out of it. Hell, she might be a demon herself- or at least half demon." He turned hearing the scream of Laura inside the room. Well, that would be Aiyana making her appearance. It took only a few minutes at most before Laura politely telling Aiyana to get out and Zane yanking her out of the room and taking the sheet that covered her with him as he closed the door.

Standing naked in the hallway, Jaque couldn't help but stare at her, she was always as attractive as ever, even despite the fact that the woman was fuming. "She called me a nut case, basically," snapped Aiyana. "You'd think she could be a bit more polite about it. I was when you first told me the story of the gods and goddesses. But, at least I was tolerant."

Jaque was still blushing as Aiyana ranted and she glared at him and snapped, "Are you even paying attention?!"

"Uh- what?" Jaque asked.

Aiyana rolled her eyes as she pulled on her clothes, "We at least know what power they possess. She's the light runner and the demon is her guardian, right?"

"Right," Jaque confirmed.

"I have a plan!" She exclaimed tightening her belt around her hips. Jaque sighed: this wouldn't be good. "Get me the room next door and pen and paper. I'm going to wait here while you do this. They can't stay in there forever. I want to know if their enemies or allies before we head out, now. Maybe I'll have better luck talking to just the demon. Perhaps if they saw my true form they'd be more willing to work with me?"

"Or kill you," pointed out Jaque grudgingly leaving to follow the woman's commands.

Laura~ The Light Runner.

Laura watched wide eyed as Zane had pulled Aiyana violently out of the doorway. Sure, with Zane it was to be expected but never had she witnessed someone being so harsh towards a woman before, regardless of what or who they where. Then her eyes widen even more as she watched him jerk the towel from around her body, leaving her entirely naked to the cold air of the hall around her.

Shaking her head she turned away from him, walking over towards her bed, she needed to get dressed but the sudden visit she just had began to have her thinking once again and it was beginning to give her a headache.

"I doubt they will come back... At least for their sakes I hope not." she whispered to herself, running a idle hand through the golden silk of her hair. "You are right. I'll just be a moment." she said to the reference of her current state of dress. Sighing she stood up facing the bathroom when she heard the towel fall to the ground, her face turning crimson. Even though she couldn't see him, it was just the mere thought that he was standing behind her without any clothes on. Quickly she disappered into the bathroom to make herself more presentable.

Carefully she slipped herself back into the silken off white dress. It's hems a wire of gold that veed down into a golden pendant. Sighing she adjusted all the crosses and stitches of the delicate fabric, leaving her hair down. She took a look at herself in the mirror. "Barely recognizable.." she whispered to herself as she allowed her fingers to trace over her face. She had aged from a child like look to that of a young woman in a years time. To bad about the problem with her height, her eyes where so blue they looked white now. Her skin the color of porcelain.

Returning back to the room she looked like herself once more, clothed more modestly then just a sheet. Sighing she sat down on the end of her bed. It was quiet, so quiet she could hear every little foot fall outside their door. Her eyes shifted to the door, shadows traced the bottom. A small chuckle left her lips as she shook her head.

Laura then looked over to the demon who guarded her. She could tell he wasn't in the best of moods, so it was most likely better if she didn't tell him about the woman outside the door. She scooted herself back up in the bed, stopping once her back hit the hard wood of the wall. She continued to look under the door, still seeing the shadow, only adding to her discomfort.

"...I know you are upset, and this probably isn't the best of times but she is persistent... " she whispered, not wanting her words to be heard by the unwelcome woman on the other side of the door. She knew what she wanted. I might actually be more willing to listen to her allegations if she'd just let me rest! Can't she tell I'm exhausted. This is why I can't stand people, they have no disregard of others, always trying to get what they want... she thought to herself.

Sighing Jaque hurried down to the bar bellow, and booked the room next door to the Light Runner and her demon guard. Asking the bartender where the nearest stationary shop was he ran a few streets down and picked up a quill and parchment, confused to why Aiyana would need paper. She was a fisherman right? Or at least a fisherman's daughter: as far as Jaque knew she couldn't even read let alone write. Frowning he tried to remember a single time he saw the Water Walker write anything and couldn't recall.

Paying for the quill and parchment he sighed as he trudged back to the inn and tavern. Jaque had decided a long time ago that Aiyana was just a strange girl and Hell if the fisherman could turn into water would the fact she could write be that astonishing?

"I'm back," Jaque announced to Aiyana who was sitting on the floor shaping a sphere of water into various forms in her hands. He held out the parchment and quill and the room key.

Aiyana got up smiling happily, hugged Jaque and said, "Even if it took you forever to get what I wanted, I love you: you know that, right?!"

"No," Jaque sighed, as she let go of him and took the parchment and quill from him and sat down again on the floor. "You just love to order me around."

As she began to scratch the quill on paper she said thoughtfully, "Yeah, you're probably right." Ten minutes later she held up the note proudly, there were some spelling errors and what not but all in all it was readable enough. Knocking on the door a few times, Aiyana bent over and slipped the note under the door and turned to Jaque. "Come, let's go to our room, now."

The note was folded once over and the contents of the letter was simple and written in the writing of one who had learned to write but had not spent much time practicing writing and more time reading if anything. In simple lettering the note read:

Sorry for springing this on you, madam, but it is important to figure things out now. My friend and me are next door if you so wish to see us till tomorrow morning. We are headed first to the Mud Slinger temple and then to the Water Walker temple. I believe your temple would not be too far out of the way and I'm putting off going to the Water Walker temple. I wouldn't want to have my only escort on the road be someone waiting to slit my throat like your demon friend is.
If you wish to talk and further discuss this on neutral terms I am next door. Feel free to bring your guard if you so wish and do not trust me.
