((ok never done this before so please be a little patient))  Azure stood up from her nap and stretched. She had spent so much time sleeping that she was still a little wobbly on her newly longer legs (you see she had slept thru much of being a baby and grew while she slept).
She decided that it was time to explore a little. So far the most she had seen was the "hole to china" that the crazy twins had tried to dig. She stepped out of her hut into the sunshine and decided to walk down to the beach to see what she could see....

 Jasper padded contently along the shore humming a little melody to himself, his paws sinking into the silky wet sand. The afternoon sun shone brightly in the sky, illuminating the shimmering water. The tide was low today meaning he could look for shells. He smiled at the thought of that. Sure is a beautiful day, he thought.
Spotting something orange further down, Jasper excitedly trotted towards it. The orange thing got bigger as he got closer. Pretty orange shell? As he approached, he stopped short. It was a Datsi. One he has never met before.
He looked at her curiously. "You're not a shell."

As she walked closer to the water Azure noticed that her paws sank in the sand a bit so she backed up unsure if that was safe. She sat down and closed her eyes to enjoy the sunshine and the sounds of the ocean. Soon she was startled by another voice telling her she was not a shell.
"No, I am not, well I don't think I am. No, I am certain I am not a shell.I am Azure, a Datsi...What is a shell? Who are you?" she asked the shiney Datsi who had startled her, in a rather quick and excited voice. In her excitement she did not stop to think that she might be rude asking questions of one older than she.

Continuing with his curious gaze, Jasper grinned at her. His eyes glanced the shore and caught a glimpse of a shiny object buried in the sand. Excitedly, he trotted over to it and picked up a little red shell. He turned it in his paw, examining the beautiful details on the surface. Not taking his eyes off the shell, he responded to her.
"No, you are not. But you could be a shell, you know. Shells are pretty and colorful too. See?" He held out the little red shell in the palm of his paw for Azure to see, only looking up for a second to check her reaction.

Azure looked at what the other Datsi was holding in his paw, blushing a bit due to his words. He was right it was very pretty and she couldn't help but sniff at it a little bit.
"Achoo! I think I got some sand in my nose." She said shaking her head a little, "It is very pretty!"
After looking at the shell in his paw she decided to try and find one herself so she began looking around. Soon she saw what appeared to be a round shell but it looked different than the one the other Datsi was holding. It was circular, kind of grey in color and had markings on the top of it.
"What is this one?" She asked looking up to see if he would come and look. "Hey! What am i supposed to call you? I don't know your name..."

Jasper watched as Azure examined the little red shell. The excitement and curiosity in her eyes made him grin. He turned the shell around and around in his paw, letting her see all sides of it. She seemed to enjoy that.
He followed a little behind her as she pounced around, trying to find a shell herself. There were many around, but they better start collecting them before the tide came or they would be all gone. Jasper trotted up to the spot Azure was pointing to.
"Jasper's the name. And I don't know what that is, it looks more like a rock to me." He chuckled. Then he motioned for Azure to follow him. "C'mon, there's lots of pretty shells over here."

 A little sad that it was "just a rock" but still thinking it pretty, Azure picked it up and followed Jasper to find more pretty shells.
When she got to the place Jasper had stopped she saw shells all over the place. Big ones, little ones, pink ones, red ones, blue ones, ones that even looked like rainbows. She darted all around looking at the different shells.
Carefully putting down what she had been carrying in her mouth and asked Jasper, "How do we carry them all?? They are so pretty I can't just pick one to carry in my mouth and I really do want to keep this 'rock'". As she said this she bounced around a bit more, careful not to break any of the shells, and looked at Jasper from the corner of her eyes when she didn't think he would see her.

Jasper smiled as he watched Azure prance all over the place, admiring the shiny colorful shells. They sure were beautiful. He sat down and looked around, trying to find one that catches his eye. He loved unique shells that were different than the regular ones everyone could find on the beach.
His thought was interrupted by a question. Azure stood before him with the "rock" in her mouth. She put it down at her feet.
"You stuff them all in your mouth like a hamster, obviously." He said with all seriousness. Then seeing her expression, he laughed. "I'm joking! You can carry the smaller ones in a bigger shell."

After listening to Jasper, and blushing as he joked with her, Azure began looking around for a large shell that would hold her "rock" and anything else that caught her eye. While doing this she wondered to herself Why does he make me blush so much? He is very sparkly....
Finding a large shell did not prove to be easy as there were many smaller ones all around that kept distracting her. When she found one she thought would work she was sad because it seemed so plain...then she turned it over to be sure it was big enough to hold things and got a surprise!! The inside of the shell was colored like a rainbow! I have to show this one to Jasper! she thought and carefully picked it up and took it over to him.
"Jasper, Jasper LOOK!!" she said very fast and excited "I was looking for a big shell to carry smaller ones in and saw this plain looking one but when i turned it over it is a rainbow!! Isn't it pretty???"
Not entirely sure why it mattered so much to her that he liked it Azure bounded around him and the shell very excited and nervous at the same time.

Jasper stared at the shell, taking it in. He examined the smooth surface and smiled at Azure who was happily bouncing all over the place. The shell was thin, and the outer surface seemed to be covered with a glossy protection which shined in the sunlight. The rainbow underside sure was different. He had never seen anything like it before. It was gorgeous.
"Calm down." He chuckled. "It is very beautiful indeed, you'll want to be careful with this one. It's thin and you don't want it to break."
He swayed his tail back and forth.

Carefully following Jasper's instructions she placed her "rock" into the shell along with a few other pretties.
"Why is your tail twitching like that?" Azure asked. She didn't want to seem rude but the sparkly tail was very tempting to pounce on.....
"There are so many shells but I do not think that my one for carrying will hold much more and I do not want it to break...." Azure said, almost to herself but loud enough to be heard by Jasper.

"It's not twitching, it's called instinct, little one. Look, your tail is swaying back and forth too." Jasper motioned for her to look at her tail which was indeed wagging excitedly. "It happens when we are happy or excited." He smiled at her.
"Come on, I'll help you find a bigger shell to fit your smaller ones." He stood up and looked around in the large assortment of shells in the sand.
