Using the map given to him by Lord Luo the Mizukage Fordon finally selected a cave to train in. it was here high on a mountain able to look down on a small village in the valley. there was plenty of water due to small river flowing over the cave. There was enough security here that Fordon could train without covering his scars and never need to worry about be discovered. Fordon tossed his pack in a cave and sat down to meditate.

Fordon stopped his meditation and took off all of his restraining cloths. after putting them with his pack Fordon walked over to a pool of water then made a water reflection clone. together he and the clone gathered pinecones and small rocks. once they had made large piles of both they gathered a lot of wood. together they separated out the wood till they had nine sturdy pieces of wood for carving. the rest would be used for a campfire. Both Fordon's carved and whittled the 9 pieces till at last the wood looked like the nine blades for the training. once that was done Fordon used the shavings to start the fire. once the fire was started one Fordon kept an eye on it and began to work on food. the other Fordon began to work on traps near the camp. they were made to be unseen to everyone who did not know they were there. even if intruder somehow survived Fordon would be alerted to their presence. once that was all set up and the food was made Fordon dispelled his clone. Fordon ate slowly and savored the food. as he did he thought about village and its defenses. he planned what would be necessary for the village to be more impenetrable. using the dirt and water he formed a model of what the village then worked out were things would go and what was needed were. after he was about finished he heard a squawk and remembered the bird. it was about time he released it. Fordon washed his hands and took out lord luo's map. he made a rough replica showing only what was needed to find him. then he made a better replica for his own use in getting around the area and back to the village. it was terrible in comparison to Lord Luo's but good enough to get by. Fordon attached a note the first replica and the real map to the Hawk. After feeding the bird Fordon sent it on its way. After it left Fordon sat down and meditated.

The next day Fordon stripped down to his underwear and waded out into the river next to the cave. he began to practice the form he had been working on. the river was good for providing resistance to train his body and even showing him that there were better and faster ways for the style to be used. so Fordon continued to practice a he got used to how the skill was to be used. Eventually later in the day he used the skill he had gain to pull two fish out of the water for food.

After Fordon was done eating he went to the water and made another clone of himself. he practiced using his new sword technique with the wooden swords he made. the clone threw the small stones they had pick up yesterday and Fordon would hit them with his swords.

he had to hit them dead on and would not move one till he could do it without a miss. after many hours Fordon finally had gotten the hang of it. he decided he had a good enough handle on it to move to the next stage. he went to the water and made two more clones. then along with the first one they rained stones at him. Fordon managed to get passed this too after a few more hours. once done Fordon and his clones fixed the nicks in the wooden swords. they even oiled and polished them.

After the polishing was done Fordon meditated for a while then the next phase began. it was similar to the small stones but used pinecones and real blades. each pine cone had to be cut vertically for Fordon to pass. after a little more then an hour Fordon did indeed pass. he meditated by the fire which he had kept going. the heat of the flames warmed him as he focused his mind. his clone gathered wood while he meditated.

after he was done with his meditation Fordon got up and worked on his form for an hour. once that hour was up Fordon waded out into the river and once again began to practice his form against the current. after doing this for a while Fordon meditated in the river. using all of his focus to stay still and not be moved by the current.

Fordon then rose out of the water and kept his focus. he used his skills to catch fish with his swords. once he had caught five of then he took them over to the fire and cleaned them. he began to cook then and cleaned his blades. he continued to meditate as the fish still cooked. while he had been doing all of this his clones had been working on other things. they gathered water and edible plants. they gathered more wood for the fire.

For the next day Fordon practiced every day. He worked the point where sweat poured from every pore and his muscles burned. He tried to wrap his mind around the concept that he had set forth. For too long he practice to the point where he no longer understood the reason for his attempts. Lacking this motivation his abilities plateaued inhibiting him from continuing. He'd gotten good yes he'd gotten good. He was able to cut pinecone in half vertically with ease. He never missed a single stone thrown at him and even when he sparred himself had gotten to the point where individual practice no longer sufficed. He longed to see the girl who now haunted his dreams. His consciousness burned for her no matter how hard he tried to put him out of his mind. His whole thoughts actions and desires or wrapped around his longing for her. Being by himself he now felt an emptiness that was filled when he was around her. He was sure that seeing her just once would bring back his motivation. Perhaps meeting the Lord Kage could glean what he was missing. Still being stubborn he attempted to resist and practice on till finally at the point of exhaustion he knew he had no other choice. He packed up only what he needed and decided to leave a good deal of equipment behind. He put out the fire double checked his traps and left.

Exit.

ONE MONTH LATER...
Fordon sat on a rock in the middle of the flowing river. its current swept all around him like the many possibilities of life yet just like in life the more remote the possibility the hard it would be to get to. just like trying to get from the rock straight across to one side of the river. in life you can not jump so you would have to push through the flow of the current and try not to be washed down stream. the hardest things to change are those behind you. while it can be done you must constantly fight the raging current. Fordon wore only his pants and his eight swords strapped to his back. the ninth and longest sword lay in his lap. Fordon meditated taking in everything around himself. he had learned many things during this training and he had perfected his sword techniques with he now called the Nine Paths. The wind blew rustling his now shaggy head of hair. As wind picked up it even lightly moved the now half of the symbol that he had gotten from Mai. Fordon's heart was at peace like a growing lotus, so complex and fragile. His thoughts of her were like the warming sun causing his heart to bloom. the wind continued to blow and as it did some leaves were carried on its gentle will. As they came to pass Fordon he did not open his eyes but felt and heard where the leaves were. In a breath he had drawn his blade and split the five leaves that had passed him in half. he opened his eyes to admire his work. the leaves dropped into the river and drifted away into pieces. Fordon went back to meditating and was becoming in tune with the world around him. everything seemed to become one piece music played by the different instruments of nature. But slowly gaining in volume came something thing that did not belong. it was high pitched and moving toward him. as the realization dawned on him his eyes snapped open and he sprang from his rock. he was not going to be fast enough! as the dart trap Fordon had made himself released he took the full spray in the back. he swore afterwards as he pulled each one free but it was worth it to save the wailing child in front of him. "are you alright?" Fordon asked and the child grabbed a hold his pants and cried into his leg "my village! they killing everyone" Fordon gazed into the valley below where their was a sweet little village now he only saw a glowing light. "a fire..." Fordon thought then gently carried the child to his camp where a fire still burned. he took his cloak and wrapped it around the boy "stay here and youll be safe. ill come back after its all over" The child dared not question and stayed silent. Fordon turned and took a running start and leapt high into the tree tops. from tree top to tree top he made his way further and further down the slop toward the little village he had always watched so fondly from afar. It was disheartening to see something like that so desecrated. Fordon in the village in the valley only to see monstrous flames billowing from the buildings. For nigh on two months he had watched the sweet little village. Now see it in this state filled him with such rage and hate. When he looked around he saw bodies but they were only the corpses of older men who were truly capable of fighting back. He had seen such things before. it was typical of slavers. Fordon's heart darkened and his rage became palpable in the air. judging by the destruction they could not have gotten far. He moved as swiftly as the wind as he swept through the village. At the edge of what should have been the town square sat a group of wagons and a contingent of around forty men. As Fordon observed he could not he could not see a single ninja among them. That was going to make things easier. "The fools should have left when they had the chance." Until something else on their knees in the middle of a throng of men were two elderly people. From the center one of the slavers called out "your village dies just like your elders." Then he raised his arm and clutched in his hand was an axe. Before he could bring down the Fordon the unleashed a hail of explosive kunai. They stabbed into the backs of the unprepared warriors. They sink deep penetrating into organs of their victims. Although once the tags went off rocking the group of slavers forward off their feet and causing a pandemonium. And into that pandemonium stepped Fordon. He was like a whirlwind but blood and death. With his assassin blades stabbed vital arteries causing blood to gush forth and spray upon their comrades. With the swords he hacked destroying tendons causing him to drop to their knees longer able to control their muscles without this vital sinews which held them together. One man he hacked at the throat going just deep enough hit the arteries and take up a windpipe and not far enough to the spine or decapitate the man. That left the poor slayer swallow casting his blood attempting to take in enough oxygen to survive. Fordon lashed out with an elbow to lighting with the base of man's skull driving the brainstem far into the rest of the brain. Since Fordon not take the time to don a shirt or mask his scars and stitches were clearly visible all over his body. for Don had killed 30 of the slavers initially before making his way to the cages. Using one of the swords he cut clean through the lock releasing the capture villagers one wagon full at a time. The angry villagers who are able grab whatever they could to fight the last 10 slavers. For fun and not watch as they swarmed around nine of the slavers began to beat them savagely. one slaver took off and manage to run towards the woods. Fordon was hot in this trail giving the man no respite. And he closed on the man he dove forward with a sweeping kick took up the man's legs. a last-ditch attempt to hold off his attacker the slaver raised his fists for college rages on control for too long he kept inside and now he unleashed it at the hungry lion to eat poor little cat. Which is training the way the silent Blade was going to murder this man mercilessly. Using his Oshi-Ten Dageki he struck around the heart and a pentagram. Soon the man screamed in agony Fordon sat back and watched as the man's heart literally burst open. Grabbing the ankle of newly dead corpse he unceremoniously and disrespectfully dragged its dragged it back to the villagers. She returned the old cheer for him not knowing what to call him they looked to his appearance. a little boy murmured "the scars..." Another man took a step further " is he some sort of the Sage." A third person thing altogether "the Scarred Sage" soon the chant spread like wildfire. He raised his hands and said "we must build a fire. Not one of burned homes but one of rebirth. This village must flourish again. Into that fire will throw the filth that these slavers have brought with them." He said as he kicked the corpse. "Tonight will bury the dead both family and slaver alike. Tomorrow we must rebuild." The people obeyed his word and begin to make a large bonfire. While they'll attempted to rally around another for comfort and to dig the graves for their family and newly dubbed "scarred sage" took off back towards the mountains where his cave lay. He returned to the village not long after with a child cradled in his arms. They'll rejoice for before they thought the child was dead. After they all dug a mass grave for the slavers and buried their hated foes the people of the village attempted to pay homage to the Savior. He tended away saying "no I am but a simple ninja" any doubts of him being this age that people's minds at least was gone. Asked him where he was from who he was and he answered "I hail from the village hidden in the Mist. my name is Fordon Cordell and I am serve of the pride of the mist and Lord Mizukage, Luo Ushio." their were murmurs at the name pride of the mist. even with his true name known they still called him the scarred sage. the next few days did nothing dissuade to them. As he helped them rebuild he spoke and taught what he knew and what he had learned on the mountain. it did not have the total effect of what he was hoping for though. they began to speak of him as some divine guardian who had achieved enlightenment on the mountain. the rumors of him began to spread. several times he had tried to wear his mask to cover his scars and stitches but the people cried out for him to keep them off. For over a week the people celebrated those who lived and mourned for those who died. during the time that they buried the slavers Fordon realized how potent his fighting skills had become. he taught some of these basics to the villages and made many scrolls detailing the whole style. He hoped they would learn it and in the future be able to defend themselves from such raids. who knew maybe the village would even become famous for the style. it was the next day in a deep conversation with a man that he realized he had developed all of the things he had wanted too. furthermore he had found his reasons and mental center. He was finally ready to return home. After many goodbyes to the sweet villagers he managed to leave a change man. no longer would he need his masks or anything that hid his scars. no longer would he fear his power and hide. that was not who he was any more... now he was the scarred sage.
