Although it's a little belated, I'm gong to take refuge in here and wish you all the best season's greetings. Hope Santa brought you what you wanted!
This season isn't really for me, though, I'm afraid. I've had a wonderful time over Christmas Day, just at home, me and my Mum and the cats, with a big-assed turkey and all the extras. Pie and cookies. The works. A few small presents, it was great. It's all fun and games until you involve other people. Christmas Eve was my last day at work, and everyone was going around with mistletoe in their hats. Managed to work hard and avoid the issue all day until I was about to leave, when someone ran up to me and insisted that it was bad luck to not kiss a mistletoed person. "I'd actually rather not." I say. "No thank you." And jaws drop and people stare as though you're single-handedly responsible for destroying all that is good about Christmas. rolleyes Then there's visiting old friends who haven't seen you in a while. Yesterday we went round to see my friend who I've known since we were born, had a meal with the family and such. But how come the only interesting thing old friends can find to talk about is relationships? She's got a million pictures on her cameraphone of the people at her uni... 'He's hot, isn't he?' 'Oh he loves me to bits.' 'Yeah, I went out with a concert pianist last month...'
'And what about you?' (... stare ) 'Oh well yeah, it is good to be single for a bit, to take a break from it for a while. Wait to meet someone better! I think you should find yourself an athlete. Nicely toned. Or what about a ballet dancer? They have bad feet but you don't need to look at those in bed. Make him wear socks....' And so on and so forth.
I'm just avoiding New Year entirely. *sigh*

Oh dear. I'd loathe a Christmas like that.
I think it's hard for the average Joe to accept that sex isn't everything; there are people out there that do not enjoy it, and they'd prefer to stay away from sex-indulged raving lunatics who do. Well. Not everyone out there is like that, but most people like sex.
We're only a minority. It's hard for them to understand.
It's hard to deal with, but we have to live side by side with our sexual friends. No, they're not terrible people. It's just that one aspect of them is so annoying, but we still love them, ya know?
Sorry, Dandini, that's gotta suck. I wish you the best in knowing how to deal with these people. Just, like, don't go homicidal or anything. (I know you won't.)

Cheers dudette... Yeah, but it's cool. You're right, I love my friends to bits. The world is how most people want it to be and that's okay: Nothing's ever perfect and I can totally accept that in my own little zen way. whee Just felt like having a bit of a whinge, that's all!
