For generations the Royal family and the Royal guards were never involved in trivial matters that took place in Soul Society. 35 head captains came and went until the fateful 36th arrived. Yamamoto Genryusai Shigekuni was appointed the position of 36th head captain, a thousand years past till the rebellion took place. Corruption, deceit, naivety, and greed were the factors that brought the chaos to the realm. This was the first incident where souls stepped into the territory of the gods. Central took quick action and exiled the traitors and abominations that went against the law of the King. The second incident would take place a hundred years later. The judicial system was destroyed by the traitor and framer of the first incident Sosuke Aizen. Aizen defected Soul Society along with Gin Ichimaru and Kaname Tosen to live in Hueco Mundo. Aizen gathered arrancar forces and waged an all out war against the captains and humans. After a long grueling battle Aizen fell leaving several casualties.

The Great Spirit King ordered that all positions of Captain's and seating to be replaced with stronger soul reapers. Yamamoto was allowed to stay until a new and worthy head captain arrived. In the rukongai a few souls entered and placed seats within the Gotei 13. Iokina Misam excelled in agility and strength. She filled in the position of captain of the stealth force. Io personally rebuilt squad 2 making it highly more efficient than the previous captain had. Her little brother or so to speak Ryuta Kyoya joined and became her lieutenant and in charge of the maggot's nest. Diesel Willhelm was Io's lover he was captain of squad 7 before he was promoted to the Royal guard. With much training Ryuta became the most skilled practitioner of Kido. He could utilize every spell and became the first to create Do, do was the perfect synchronization of same level hado and bakudo creating a newer effect than the two seperate could pull off. The head captain Audun recognized this and brought it to the attention of the Central chambers. Central evaluated and tested Ryuta in terms of a promotion. His skill was impressive and Ryuta Kyoya became the youngest Kido Corps captain to ever exist. The Great Spirit King began to notice a collapse in the new Gotei 13. The king gathered forces including Ryuta and brought them all to the Royal guard. The captain Diesel and Lieutenant Ryuta began to follow orders and kill the captains and fire a kido cannon to destroy the Seireitei. Ryuta was assigned to kill Io his sister. Ryuta did what was told and killed her.

Now there was no one left just the king and royal guard. No longer was there shinigami to patrol and guard earth. For the safety of the souls the King deployed seats from the royal guard 2 through 14. These seated guards took the place of the Captains and each division was assigned a new specialty minus squads 2, 4, 11, and 12. Ryuta was the strongest deployed and most skilled in kido. Breaking the tradition Ryuta took the seat of Squad 5 captain as well as the Kido corps captain and head captain position. Until the senkaimon was built a fail safe was implanted in the world of the living. If a zanpakuto from either Soul reaper or Arrancar were to be released that indvidual would be obliterated instantly. With the new captains in place the fate of human souls were now back in the hands of the shinigami. The shinigami's first objective eliminate the surplus of hollow that have grown out of control.
