Bittersweet goodbye
The fire in your eyes, burns straight through my defensive smile.
You see the real me;
When my mission lies in hiding it from the world.
Why won’t you let me do the same for you?
No matter what you go through,
You will never have to experience it alone.
Why are you letting such a great experience,
Escape your grasp?
Because you are afraid?
Of what?
Losing me? Loving me?
Surrendering to your heart, ignoring your reason.
Fear of the victory, or fear of potential loss.
I am much unlike people in the past,
This, if given a chance, I have faith it would last.
And yet you, you turn your back on me,
On us? The possibility of the impossible.
I do not understand, so well we work together.
Time accelerates, fleeing so quickly;
Yet in opposition, without protest, you slow down?
What if tomorrow never comes, and again you are left in today’s shadow?
Are you willing to forever lose this?
Maybe’s, possibily’s, they will always exist,
Though the chance you refuse to take, is guaranteed miss.
