i want to get a new laptop. the one i have is clunky, slow, missing keys, the screen is scratched, and ive had it since 05
i dont know where to start and i know if i ask the people at best buy they will tell me whatever will make a sale.
i enjoy drawing and coloring, i enjoy writing, i surf the web alot, and i love games. i really want something that will let me play games on it. the fiance really wants to get me into WoW and other online games and i want to start playing regular video games on the computer so i can get all the nifty online content
any ideas what sort of laptp i should get?
and preferably something in the less expensive range, im not made of money. is there anything i can get for under $400-$500?

I hear Dell can be pretty good if you know what you're looking for...
But if you don't you might get ripped off or end up with something you don't really want/need.
Really not sure, haven't bought from them before.
I'm currently satisfied with the computer I got off the Lenovo Outlet.
Lenovo's are generally pretty solid and reliable.
I don't game with mine, though...
For gaming the most important things are going to be the processor and the graphics.
The processor is usually integrated, so it's not replaceable. Check the requirements for your games.
Integrated graphics are iffy... check them against the requirements of the game too.
RAM and harddrive are both upgradable, so make sure you have the processor/graphics first.
Um, if you have one you're thinking about getting, you can always run it past the C&T forum for advise?
There's usually a person or two who knows what they're talking about there.
(but don't believe everyone 100%...)

Go to www.tigerdirect.com I saw a laptop with a 10.1in screen that had Windows XP on it, I got a Lenova 15in screen with XP Pro for $610 a year and a half ago, they seem to have lots of decent prices and they ship really fast. I also got a free 1gig flashdrive when I bought my laptop.

well i want something that will be good for future games, but i guess i can just get the fiance to tell me what his copy of oblivion requires, from what ive heard that game needs alot of stuff

I went into best buy, pretty much told them the same thing you just said, and told them my budget ($400-$500) and the dude pretty much told me I was crazy and I needed to up my budget. For a decent gaming laptop anywhere, it's gonna be $500+. There was a nice one on newegg for around $500 that I wanted that would be good for gaming. I'll try and find the link again when I have some time.
