I feel mean saying this, but that's what my guild has been like. We recently added this one guy and he's eh... he comes on too strong. He acts like he's always known us, when he doesn't know us at all. And I'm talking personal stuff.
So our responses to him are sort of stand off-ish.

Just try to be a little more casual. Maybe poke into their conversation instead of starting your own, it's the best way to warm up to them!

It's tough to say. Like the others said, maybe you come on too strong and try too hard. Or maybe they don't share your sense of humor. Or maybe they just don't know how to respond to the things you say. Or maybe you're just not a good social fit.
So give it a little time. It usually takes me at least a month before people start warming up to me in a new guild and vice versa. Try, but don't try too hard. If you still don't make any progress, you can consider guild shopping again.

My guild is like that sometimes. I'll say something and they either give a short reply or they don't say anything and the odd thing is...I've known them for well over a year now. I had left the original guild I was in with them because I wasn't getting anywhere with them instance wise. Then I moved servers and a few months after they moved to that server also and I'm in a guild with them again. Although I seem to be doing my own thing getting where I need to be. A lot of the times I'm on, we don't even talk. They talk to each other and all over gear but I sadly ignore them. =/
Sometimes I wonder if there's just something wrong with me.

There's nothing wrong with you. Most guilds tend to be very clique-y, and they will only stick with a certain group of people and to break into that circle takes a looooooot of effort. Usually more than is worth the effort. Every guild is like it and you can't escape it. The only thing you can do is be a loner in the game, or find a clique that you fit into.

I remember when ICC came out, they took an older member who was like 900 dps lower then me, because I wasn't talkative enough on vent. It made me really sad. But yea, just be casual. Only respond when other people say stuff, always say LOL at officer jokes, and uhh....talk sparingly. I think people look cooler when they only talk less, because then the stuff that they do say, has more meaning.
