Even through her teens, with her odd little family, Nayeli kept her true innocence. The corruption of her packmates, her strange older brother.. Nothing made her see the dark side of the world. Instead, she was still daddy's little girl, and did everything she could to please Haemon.

A few times, she had met the Goblin King. He frightened her to her very core, but because she was Haemon's daughter, he was not overly harsh or hurtful with her. Not that her mother would have allowed that either way.

At this point, though, Nayeli also wanted to learn about the world around her. She didn't dare leave the territory, but what would be bad about meeting other pack members? So far she had only met her grandfathers and her great aunt. Any time those three came near, her mother tensed and her father got upset.

Was there a reason?

The bloody pelted wolf made her way down the worn path that explored the soutern region of the Reign of Terror.

Khorrigan stalked through the clumps of trees, taking care to not brush against the undergrowth overly much, and to place his paws carefully so that no twig snapped, no leaves rustled. It was a slow and painstaking process. His body was coiled tensely as he neared his prey. Granted, stalking in quite this way wasn't the typical wolf way to hunt, but it was improving his predatory skills. His stealthiness was growing by leaps and bounds, his chest and shoulder muscles were beginning to bulge with the workout this gave them. His young body pulsed with the desire to break cover and streak after the raccoon.

Raccoon wasn't exactly his idea of a good meal, either. They tended to be fatty and with little meat, tough and stringy and tasting oddly sometimes. No, this was no attempt to fill his belly. It was merely an exercise, one of many he'd invented for himself even after Kiara had left off teaching him. This was his way of training to be a fang in the mouth of his Alpha.

Thus it was no great loss when a slender young female came trotting down the nearby path, alerting his prey. The raccoon scuttled up a tree and into a hollow, hidden from Khor's view. With a sigh he gave up the stalking and stood upright, arching backwards to stretch his tense neck and back muscles.

"Fine day for a stroll, wouldn't you say?" His voice, deep and smooth, revealed him to the passing teen. He moved towards the path in a leisurely manner, now allowing all the noise he eschewed before. If one's prey knew one was there, one had no need for subtle approach. And sometimes such bodlness unsettled one's prey. He gave an appreciative smile at the young female, his tail slowly waving behind him. "Imagine meeting you here," he said drolly, his tongue lolling out in amusement. Wasn't this one of the pups he'd seen rolling about in a pile of black, red, and white? How very interesting they had become!

The voice alerted her, as her nose and eyes had not caught the other. Probably because she was not quite as alert as she probably should have been. A smile tugged onto her maw right away, though, she bowed her head politely to the other before taking a few teps closer.

"It is a lovely day, isn't it?" Her tone was light and happy, giving away how naive she was to the world around her. She didn't even think about protecting herself.

Her tail wagged a little beind her, curling about her as she sat down and settled, staring at him with soft eyes. "My name is Nayeli," She gave a brighter grin. "I'm the daughter of the great Shaman Haemon and his mate Raelin." Of course, she was very proud of her family, especially her father. He was amazing to her.

"I don't believe we've met before, though." Her tail thumped lightly on the ground behind her with excitement. She'd never met a male other than her family or the King before!

The well-muscled male regarded her with some surprise. Her happy and carefree attitude was not what one expected to meet in this pack. No, not at all. Even the pups tended to be tough, guarded, snarly. But here was this pretty young thing, just as bright and sunny as a beam of unfiltered sunshine, breaking through the forest roof.

"My name is Khorrigan, and I am...," he halted for a moment, grasping for what to add. "I am one of the fangs in our Lord's jaws," he finished, posing just a bit, with his head up, ears forward, chest out, paws braced stiffly. He was proud, yes. Proud to have learned his trade of blood and death, proud to serve his alpha, proud to be young and strong and brave. The rich nectar of youth sang in his veins and pumped fiercely in his heart. This was his time!!

He broke his pose then to move closer to Neyeli and sniff at her coat, getting to know her better. Yes, she was only just out of puphood, a young and ignorant wolf. He debated within himself as to whether to break that innocence in one way or another, or to leave it intact. A reminder of who her father was made the choice for him. Strong and capable he might be, but one never trifled with a shaman. So he took two respectful steps back and sat down instead of finding a lesson to 'teach' her about life in Reign of Terror, unaware of the wisdom he'd gained since his first furious entry into the pack. He would not have hesitated before, and would have borne the heavy consequences for such hasty action.

"Where might you be going, little Neyeli?" he asked. Though she was no longer a pup, he thought it best to keep things as between an adult to a pup. It helped him to not get confused, muddled by her appealing looks and sweet manner, forgetting himself and who she was. It was much much easier, and safer, to hold her at arm's length, to be sure.

One of the fangs in The King's jaws? Her head nodded serval times. He must have been quite important. As soon as the other sniffed at her coat, she grabbed a few wiffs of him as well, curious about the way he would spell. Her tail wagged slightly, but she got confused when he took a few steps back and sat down.

"I'm exploring," Nayeli smiled at him, her eyes still glowing with that same bright curiousity. "Father was distracted, I wanted to see what I could about the rest of the lands." She was well protected, because her father knew the harsh realities of the world and did not want to chance her having a run in with his brothers/fathers.

Though the daughter of a fiesty female and a strong shaman, she was rather light on her feet and wouldn't do too well at defending herself. Her innocence would have to be broken before she could become a warrior that anyone could approve of.

"Are you exploring as well, Khorrigan?"

He raised his brows at her purpose for being out beyond the dens. Exploring? Her naive attitude made it all the easier to keep her on the level of a puppy in his mind. Her father sounded like he kept a keen eye on her normally, too. He paused for thought on what to do about this. Should he take her back home? Let her go on with her exploring? "You should be careful," he warned sternly. "There are dangers even within the pack's boundaries." Some of those dangers were pack members themselves!

"I was not exploring, no. I know these lands as well as the back of my paw," he boasted loftily, even though it really wasn't true. He knew some of it well, but certainly not all of it. "I was practising my skills," he continued. "Stalking prey, taking enemies by surprise, killing swiftly or slowly." Yes, it sounded good when he embellished that way. She was so easy to impress, he couldn't help adding to his own prowess with a little creative wording.

"Perhaps I should escort you about the lands, little one," he suggested in a sudden surge of inspiration. Surely her father couldn't fault him for staying by her side so she came to no harm? Especially if he returned her home whole and safe! "Would you like a tour?" He endeavored to posture just the right way to accentuate himself in the best light. Young and full of his own newfound adult power, ego surged through his veins as much as blood did. How he desired her admiration! And wasn't she so pretty in the dappled forest light?

Catching himself again as he slid towards thinking of her in forbidden ways, he shook his head a little, making his ears flap endearingly. He'd have been furious to know how sweet he'd looked with his ears tipping back and forth like a pup's. He was not a pup anymore!
