As I was watching the latest Star Trek Movie, a very sound question came to mind from The Simpsons shows. However this was not any episode. It was one of the much older ones that likely aired in either the late 80's to mid 90's. And I realize that is quite a stretch of time. However finding it might have been made a bit easier by the fact that this very moment of retrospective was exemplified in a Simpsons Spacial. Of which I do not know.

The best details that I can provide of that moment is from the earlier animations of the show during this clip, Homer was seeing to it that his son Bart was off to sleep sound. Then the boy's curious mind illicit's an inquiry about fear in the mind. If I recall this correctly, Homer replied with something that would lull the boy's contemplation without REALLY answering the question, as someone with a sharp mind would do if they are too tired to bother with the thought itself.

What is that exact quote? Or if you cannot recall it verbatim, what Simpsons Special did that moment air on? Because it is difficult for me to remember anything else about THAT episode in particular.

And I apologize for my language at the moment. I have been weird lately.

Edit: Thus far this is the only place that I know to look for a reference of episodes. However I cannot differentiate between the normal episodes and the one in question with the little time that I have left today.

I know what you're talking about. The quote is,
Bart: "Dad, what is the mind? Is it just a system of impulses, or something tangible?"
Homer: "Relax. What is mind? No matter. What is matter? Never mind."

This was like the first Simpsons short ever, according to wikipedia. Here is the clip show on which it appeared.

As did one of my psychology professors this semester. So now I really wonder where did it derive from!
