Nanaki frowned as Yury plopped down. "Tell me what's wrong." he demanded. He approached her and began to sniff the whole length of her body curiously. When he reached her neck he smelled the unmistakable scent of a budding infection. A whimper came from him and he couldnt figure out how it had escaped his control.
"Your wound is starting to get infected. I'm going to go see if I can find anything to help prevent that. Are you in pain, or dizzy or anything else that I should know about?"

"My neck, it hurts....alot"Yury finally admitted to him. Now that he already knew about it she could stop holding back the pain she felt.Once she did this tears started to flow from her eyes as she whimpered in pain. "I-I .....am .....s-s-sory, ....t-to be a b-b-bother"she managed to say in between crying.

Nanaki nuzzled her cheek instinctively when she began to cry. "Shh, it's okay, calm down, you need to rest and I will be back soon with something that will help." he spoke in a gentle tone hoping it would help.
When he was satisfied that she had calmed down enough for him to leave he backed out of the branches and set off to look for some marigold and poppy flowers knowing that those two were exactly what she needed at the moment.
---an hour or so later---
Nanaki sighed in relief when the willow came into sight. He was covered in dirt from head to toe and had reopened the wound on his side more than once during his trip but it was worth it. In his mouth he held a large bouquet of yellow and orange flowers.
As he pushed his way into the willow he set the flowers down beside Yury and picked up the orange ones, one at a time and shook them until the seeds scattered onto the ground. Gathering them together with a paw he looked at Yury. "Eat them. They will help with the pain and let you get some rest."
Then he set about licking her neck wound, and once he had finished he chewed up the marigold leaves and turned them into a sort of paste, which he applied to the wound to help combat the infection.
"That should help, now, I'm going to go clean up and I'll be back in a few minutes." he said softly before making his way back out and down to the river where he proceeded to wash himself off.
I hope she'll be okay. he thought to himself as he stood in the rushing water and stared up at the night sky.

When Nanaki left she tried to calm down as best she could not only for her but for him too.She started to drift asleep when appeared again full of dirt. Just by looking at him you can tell he was looking hard. Once the seed for the flowers feel she ate them just liked he asked. A few moments later she feel them starting to work as the pain lifted from her neck.As he licked her neck chills flew threw her spine but she just bared with it knowing t was going to help in the long run. When Nanaki applied the past to her neck it felt cold but she was fine with it. She watched as Nanaki left to washed up and wait for his return. There was no way she was going to sleep until she could thank him for everything.

Nanaki returned from the river slightly damp despite all the shaking he had done to rid himself of the water. As he pushed his way back through the willow branches and stood beside Yury he smiled at her. "How are you feeling now?"
He moved to stand beside her and then lay down. He nuzzled her gently and sniffed at the wound. The marigold was overwhelming but he couldn't smell the infection as strongly anymore either so he knew it was working. He just hoped that it would be enough. He'd had a heck of a time climbing back up the cliff at the edge of the river after he'd gathered those flowers and he wasn't looking forward to repeating the trip.

Yury was happy to see Nanaki again and smiled at him. "I am feeling better thanks to you." She told him. Once he laid down next to her she gently nuzzled him and kisses his check."Thank you for everything, i don't know what i would do with out you." she said as she nuzzled him one more time. Soon after she feel fast asleep cuddles next to Nanaki, who warmed made her sleep more comfy.

"You're welcome." he whispered as she fell asleep. He rested his head against her side and groaned quietly as he tried to get comfortable. His side was literally throbbing and his muscles ached terribly.
Eventually he fell asleep, too exhausted to remain awake even though he wasn't comfortable.

The sound of birds and the sunlight filtering through the branches woke him up and he stretched only to groan in pain. He had definately slept wrong and his muscles were in agony. He rose to his paws and continued to stretch, hoping he could work out the knots that had formed over night. When he was feeling a little better he nudged Yury. "Wake up. We need to keep going."
He made his way outside and down to the river where he enjoyed the icy cold water that flowed down his throat as he drank deeply. As he sat and waited for her Yury realized that he was falling for her and it shocked him. Somewhere inside his mind the little voice laughed I told you so."

Yury woke up to Nanaki's voice and she slowly opened her eyes. She starched but carefully so she wont reopen her wound. When she was full away she walked over to river where Nanaki was sitting. She quitly walked over and brushed her tail along his side and nuzzled his neck lovingly. She then continued to drink the cold water as her body socked up the sun light.

Nanaki smiled as Yury came up beside him. "Good morning." he spoke softly as if afraid of disrupting the tranquility of the morning. "We can make it to the ocean today. I heard it while I was out looking for the flowers last night. Whenever you're ready we'll go."
As he spoke he waded into the water and found that there were quite a few large fish swimming around in the shallow parts. Deciding he would give fishing another shot he moved carefully to avoid casting his shadow over them and scaring them off. When he felt he was close enough he swiped with a paw and two fairly large fish flew out of the water and landed, flopping wildly, at the edge of the river. He moved quickly to pin them down before they slipped back into the water and disappeared.
After he had killed the fish he looked up at Yury. "Breakfast is served." he grinned and flicked his ears like a puppy who knows it has just done something it was going to be praised for. He knew he had only gotten lucky, as he was far too clumsy in the water to be a very good fisher but he was proud he had been able to provide a meal for them this morning.

As yury was drink the water she notice the large fish near by. She was going to get them after drinking but before she had a chance to get them Nanaki was already going over there. She sat up watching him fish then suddenly two big fish appeared on the shore where he swiped them too. Yury was surprise that he got them since she new he wasn't great to thinks in water. "Wow, Nanaki that was great. you did so good, i knew you would" he told him as she nuzzled him before taking her fish. She ate it the fish until nothing was left and she was stuffed. She then stood up and stretched one more time then turned to Nanaki. "Ready when you are" she told him with a big smile on her face.

"Thanks, but... it was just beginners luck." he said, not too well versed in taking compliments but he thought he did alright. Nanaki made quick work of his fish and when he was full there was nothing left but bones. He licked his muzzle and drank a little bit more water before he turned to Yury. Nuzzling her cheek and brushing her side with his tail he started walking, slowly, he wasn't in too much of a hurry as he knew they would reach their destination sometime in the early afternoon.

Nanaki was starting to worry about the toll the heat was having on Yury, it was certainly cooler here than it had been earlier in their journey but it was still hot and he knew she wasn't feeling her best. He could hear the ocean roaring ahead as well as the river bubbling to the left of him. He knew they were almost there, and he had a feeling that it would be just on the other side of the sand dunes he saw in the distance, but he wasn't sure if Yury would make it that far. She hadn't said anything about her wound bothering her but that didn't mean that it wasn't and he found himself moving closer to her side as if to support her weight as they walked.

"beginners luck or not, you still did great" she told them as they headed off. Yury happily trotted beside Nanaki knowing she will be able to see the ocean for the first time in her life. She was even more happier that she gets to share it with Nanaki. Even though they hadn't know each other to long she was already had deep feelings for Nanaki, not that she wanted her to find out soon. Yury was more worried that he wouldn't feel the same way.
They been travailing sometime now and finally came across a big sand dune where they could hear the ocean and the salt in the air seemed to swallow them up. Yury was existed, they journey would be coming close to there goal. Once they started to claim Yury notice Nanaki walking closer to support her wait. She knew he must of been worried still. "I am fine, you don't need to worry about me" she told him.

When she told him that he didn't need to worry about her he dropped his ears in embarrassment. Apparently he had been more obvious than he'd thought. "Sorry, I just don't want you to strain yourself too much and have it reopen or anything." his explanation was simple but inside it was so much more than that. He wanted to be there and support her, all of the time whether she needed him or not. He still couldn't figure out where all these feelings were coming from. He'd only ever felt them once before, but that was for his little sister, and he'd ended up loosing her in a cave in. Besides, this wasn't exactly like that, there was something... more.
As they reached the top of the hill Nanaki nuzzled Yury gently and then his tail began wagging frantically with his excitment, though he hopes she couldn't see it. Before them, spread out, shimmering in the early afternoon sun, was a giant expanse of greenish blue water. On the shore there were all sorts of odd creatures, little things with hard shells, huge long-legged birds, and large brown and grey creatures that looked like balls with flippers attached, a seal he believed his father had called them once. "We're here." he finally managed to say and he looked over at her to see her reaction knowing this was her first time ever seeing such a place.

Once Yury could see the ocean her jaw drooped and her eyes widen so big.She was frozen there from it'd beauty, unable to take her eyes away from it. "It's so beautiful, Nanaki" she said excitedly as she rushed down the dune, completely forget about her wound. She splashed into the water jumping around the waves. She was truly like a kid in a candy store. After she got done with the water she would roll in the sand. "Nanaki, it's so soft" she told excitedly. Soon after the sun started to set and she trotted off by Nanaki to watch it with him. "It is so beautiful, isn't it?" she said as she stared into the sunset. Her tail slowly brushed up ageist him and added "Thanks for bringing me here." Once the sun vanished behind the sea the moons glow shined. "Hey Nanaki, lets sleep out here tonight"she ask cuddling up to him. She didn't want to sleep in a den but on the beach where there salt in the air and and sound of the waves crashing in the shore was strong. It seemed like they where singing a lullaby for Yury to sleep.

Nanaki watched as Yury frolicked in the water and on the sand of the beach. It was quite amusing and it brought a warm smile to his face. As the sun began to set and she came to watch it beside him he nuzzled her. "You're welcome, I'm just sorry that I couldn't get you here safely, but at least we are here together."
After the sun had set he lay down beside her and nuzzled her softly. Something about the location made him feel very caring and it was probably the cause for his slip of control over his emotions. As they started to fall asleep he whispered quietly, but loud enough for her to hear. "I love you Yury." The consequences of such a statement could be dealt with in the morning. For now, he touched his nose to her shoulder and fell asleep.
