This is a private RP between Jun [Koonjan] and Kyung [Koco Pelli].

Setting:
The Quiet Roads.
When it's spring cleaning time for the Huǒ Lì family, there's no such thing as "quiet."

❀❀❀ "Man, this is going to be the death of me," Jun grumbled, batting some debris to the side.

❀❀❀Huo Li Jun absolutely hated spring cleaning. Sure, it was nice to have a clean house after a whole year of harboring garbage and grime, but Jun decided that he had grown fond of the dust balls that had congregated throughout the home. The purple Lunarian stretched, grunting as he straightened his back. At first glance, it didn't seem like any progress had taken place. Crumpled pieces of discarded, ornate, dragon-esque missiles and fragments of brilliant cardinal found themselves strewn about the floor. He made no gesture to pick them up; instead, the disgruntled adolescent resorted to lifting the limp scraps up with his foot, scanning the floor for granules of white grit.

❀❀❀The Huo Li family was never a household to accomplish things orthodoxly and spring cleaning was no exception. Lightweight explosives were situated in the vicinities of every room, carefully placed in certain positions and amongst the trash. Jun knew all too well of their purpose. As he went about his duties, he had the nagging feeling that he was forgetting something, but he dismissed it with a shrug. He wanted to get this annual ritual done and over with. The day was too short for this waste of time.

❀❀❀Suddenly, a hoarse voice rang out through the corridors of his den, "JUN? IS YOUR QUARTER CLEAR OF POWDER?"

❀❀❀"Yeah, mom!," Jun shouted back bitterly, "Fire 'em up!"

❀❀❀A bomb exploded in reply, catapulting rubbish and dust out the windows and doors of the house. Since the fireworks were on the weak side, they hardly posed a threat unless they came into contact with explosive powder. Another bomb combusted. The house shook in answer. One after the other, the decorated orbs discharged, spewing out a whole year's worth of pleasantries out onto the street. Jun was about to exit the building when he froze in his tracks. A deathly pallor ate his skin. He remembered now. In midst the chaos, the Lunarian heard the familiar sound of ignited wicks. He had forgotten to clear his secret firework stash.

❀❀❀Oh, ******** style="color: white">❀❀❀
He bolted out the door.

Kyung was lost. He had no trouble admitting this fact. Hubris was a flaw and one that Kyung had no trouble with. Secondly, Kyung had a weak sense of direction to being with so his current situation did not surprise him. He had be wandering around in the Imperial City, taking a few turns here and there, and suddenly he had ended out here.

The streets were of dirt, twisting and turning like a gnarled branch. Neat little houses lined the street, only to disappear behind an imposing wall and reappear as the walls crumbled away or parted to show another street branching off to the left or right. Rubbing the cool, slick scales on Nemu's head, his pet snake, Kyung continued to make his way through this neighborhood of sorts. And while he would have liked to stay situated so that a person familiar with these parts could aid him, the possible thought of becoming a Legionnaire's punching bag (again) kept his feet moving at a brisk pace.

Taking another turn left, Kyung's face remained impassive despite the panic slowly welling up inside him. He paused for a moment and looked behind his shoulder. Everything looked the same. All the houses were the same color, the walls were made from the same bricks. This place was a maze and Kyung was its captive. Unless he found someone to help him out of this mess, he would die in here. Die was actually a strong word but in a place like this, the chances of him meeting a Legionnaire was like looking up into the sky on a rainy day and looking for clouds.

The young Lunarian's head turned sharply to the right has he heard and explosion. Gunpowder? Fireworks? Something explosive. Curious, Kyung headed towards the source of the noise and found himself standing in front of a house with all of its doors and windows open. There was a loud popping noise and clouds of dust and other paraphernalia came flooding out of the open street. Kyung stood dumbfounded. What manner of play was this?

❀❀❀As he leaped out the door, the animated abode shuddered. Instantaneously, a billow of murky brown surged from the entrance behind him and engulfed his figure, hiding Jun from sight momentarily. He lost balance as he landed on the dirt path, collapsing onto all fours. The purple-clad Lunarian had no idea of Kyung's presence before him. As the nebula of cinders and dust dissipated, he found himself clubbing his chest to cough out the grime in his lungs. Finally, Jun noticed that he was staring at someone's feet. He looked up.

❀❀❀"Wha? Who are you?"

❀❀❀Abruptly, shrieking akin to that of a banshee's, ripped through the air. The sound of wood splintering accompanied the shrill screaming. Bloodshot fireworks tied to bamboo sticks shot out from a hole in the ceiling, the hacking home spitting them out in excess. It was like a train was ravaging a path towards the heavens. Darkness covered them. The sun was smothered in a sea of rockets, casting ominous figures upon the two. It appeared as if they lingered in the air for a bit, baiting the pair with a deceptive peace before they began crashing down.

❀❀❀"Holy ********> There was no time for euphemisms. Jun desperately grabbed onto Kyung's arm, "Nevermind! Time to go! Come on, come on!"

❀❀❀He stumbled as he took off, forcefully dragging Kyung along with him. The earth underneath them quaked. Jun cursed repeatedly under his breath. It had started. As they ran, the sizzling wildebeests stampeded towards them, charring the path around them. Jun was determined to have no lions killed tonight.

Kyung watched as a Lunarian around the same age as him (thought with much more muscle mass) came running out the door. Dressed in vibrant violet robes, he stuck out like a sore thumb against the dusty colors that made up the neighborhood. Kyung watched as he fell and took a step forward only to back away just as quickly. He was tempted to help but the sight of the others well defined muscles keep him at bay. Better to be safe than sorry, or so they say.

Hearing his question, Kyung opened his mouth to answer and looked confused when something akin to a tortured scream ripped through the air. That was not his voice. Accompanying this jarring noise was the sound of groaning wood, splintering against whatever force was pushing up on it. Engrossed by what appeared to fireworks breaking through the roof, Kyung was shaken roughly by the others grip on his arm. About to protest, he stopped at the urgency that resounded in the purple Lunarian's voice.

Kyung stumbled ever so slightly as the other Lunarian's grip on his arm tightened and forcefully pulled him down the path away from the shaking house. The ground shook from underneath him and he fell forward, tripping against his own shoes. Hitting the ground with a loud whump, Kyung let out a frightened cry as a smoldering firework brushed past his foot.

"What's happening?"

❀❀❀As they pushed through the neighbourhood, Jun made sure he could identify the unwilling participant during this mad dash to safety. His sidelong glances distinguished a girl, a pretty one at that. Saving Kyung would score him some extra points in the reputation department. Having one girl gossip about how debonair and heroic he was would definitely up his luck with the opposite gender-- and perhaps, add to his ego. Unfortunately for Jun, he was unaware of Kyung's previous "rescue" and the end result of a certain Mongol's confusion.

❀❀❀Jun almost lost balance as Kyung careened onto the ground. He had forgotten how tight his grip was before his new acquaintance almost brought him down with him. After skidding to a stop, Jun swiveled around, the dust of the dirt path eddying around his ankles. The dying firework beside Kyung's feet burned stubbornly. Whatever was left of the missile was purely obsidian, shedding smoldering ashes from its stem. He realized belatedly that one of them was probably going to trip. Given the frantic pace they were running at, he wasn't about to be frustrated with the other's clumsiness. Nevertheless, Jun was still under the misconception that his race partner was female. He was still convinced that this Lunarian was a girl too, until "she" spoke.

❀❀❀"Hold it. Answer my question first. Are you a chick or a dude? 'Cause if you're a guy, you can help yourself up, alright?"

❀❀❀Jun crossed his arms. He felt like he was tricked, although, he knew that Kyung had no direct part in the confusion. Another firework whizzed by the two, the turbulence caused by its descent warping the shape of his pants. The ominous sound of the last wave of fireworks slowly began to crescendo.
