Kiara stalked trhough the pack's lands, heart and eyes aflame with an indescribable fury. Rumors were circling, and she had been hearing more and more a certain detail that at this point must be indisputable.

Mog was to be Alpha female.

She bared her fangs as she strode along, lip curled back in disgust. How had this happened? She had feared such might occur when she'd been gone away from her beloved Alpha, training youngsters into powerful warriors. Now it seemed her fears were well founded.

She shouldered her way past several lesser wolves of the pack, her eyes scanning for the target of her displeasure. There. Slowing her headlong strides, she made her steps more measured, smoother, eyes narrowing as she came upon Mog. Ears pinned in clear dislike, she growled, "So you have stolen him from me, have you?" It was partly accusation, partly a statement of fact. It tasted bitter in her mouth, like a nut eaten before it was good. She grimaced further, whether due to the words or her feelings was unclear.

There never had been any secret about the rivalry between the two she-wolves, but this had gone beyond sheer competition. Hardened resolve gleamed in her eyes. "You know it won't stay that way." Her words were sly, meant to sow seeds of doubt, to challenge, to bleed scorn from every pore.

Cherna should be hers!

Moghedien was close to the main denning area after having spent the night in Chernabog's den and one she now shared with him, though from time to time she'd return to her original den but more to simply meet with Damon which she was now heading towards, always liking to keep herself informed of the goings on with other packs and whatever knowledge Damon could gain. She glided gracefully across the ground when her eyes focused in on Kiara, who was heading directly towards her.

She had never met the other female though she knew of her, as she made it her business to know of all pack members as a lady and still now as queen. The female had her lips curled up in a snarl, bearing her fangs as she growled an accusation at herself. Moghedien stopped in her path and simply stared up at the female with icy eyes, though she had to look up at most wolves it was only in the physical sense. Moghedien knew the female was once beta though had now been appointed the task of training one of the young males and did not doubt she was another female which had aspired to be equal to Chernabog, simply because she desired the power and position or that she truly wanted him as a mate, she did not care however which it was.

Her words were icy, not an unusual tone she addressed anyone with, Kiara had yet to anger enough for her voice to become and icy warning, her words were even, calm and matter of fact. 'Stolen him away? Well no, I believe not as he was never yours in the first place, was he?'

Kiara smiled around her fangs. This retort had no sting whatsoever. What did this female know about what had come before her? Nothing, apparently. She gave a cough of a scornful laugh. "What, do you think you are the first to savor our Lord's favor?" She swung her tail and let her tongue slide along her jowls as if tasting something delicious, something she longed for. "Oh no, pretty one, you are certainly not the first, and I'd be surprised if you were the last."

She began to slowly move to one side, one firm paw-fall at a time. "You see, our Lord has an appetite for beauty, a heavy desire for the spice of a willing partner." Her eyes gleamed with clear knowledge of what she spoke of. Oh yes, she had partaken of those delightful moments with their Soverign. She circled behind and came up on the new Alpha female's other side. "Not to mention as Alpha, he could have any one he pleased, at any time he pleased." She gave her tail and hindquarters a sassy wave, smirking sideways at the grey female.

She stopped in front of her again and leaned close, eyes narrowed. Baring her fangs in a large, feral smile, she whispered, "It seems he hasn't told you about the time he and I spent together, has he?" Her ears pricked further forward, her body leaning towards the smaller Alpha. "How I was at his side as he chose this land, before he even called others to him to serve?" She sat back again, letting a maliciously satisfied look ooze across her face. "Those were good times," she said simply, but implying oh-so-much more. "So yes, I'd say he was mine, at least for a time." Left hanging was the question... how long would Mog have her time before that too came to a end? How long before someone took him from her as well? Not long, if Kiara had anything to do with it!

Moghedien simple stood icily calm as the female circled her growling and grinning as if pleased with herself but none of her words effected Mog, this female seemed to have forgotten all her strengths, Moghedien was gifted with a silver tongue able to weave words to pollute the ears of others, if the female thought she was on the same level as Mog in this fight she was sorely mistaken. She did not know Chernabog had mated with Kiara but then it did not bother her, nor surprise her, he'd take what was on offer and she had no problem with this, as long as it was her he returned to in the evenings and she had his word on this.

Mog was starting to get annoyed with the female, even Liriel showed her a certain amount of respect, at least she was a little more graceful with her failure at claiming what she wanted. This female was just obnoxious, though she did not let her feelings once stir the surface of calm she portrayed. Her voice dropped a little becoming a deadly bitter wind as she whispered her own onslaught of words aimed at the ex beta female, 'No he hasn't told me about the time he spent with you, perhaps due to that fact you were just in another line of times he did in fact mate with any female that so willing just offered their body up to him, no other male would turn that opportunity aside. But then as you pointed out you were the only one with him before the others came, so he didn't really have much of a selection then, did he?'

She looked the other female in the eye and her eyes became like icicles, piercing through the others though her voice still remaining even, 'So yes, maybe he was yours for a small space of time, but he now has more females to select from and out of all of them, I am the one by his side, not just as a female he can ravish sexually because she offers her body up so eagerly but as a mate.' Her eyes narrowed ever so slightly and her voice dropped far below freezing, 'Plus I didn't have to offer my body once to him to get where I am now.'

Kiara shuddered her coat in distaste rather than intimidation. The frost laid thick in the grey female's words had no effect on the she-wolf that her own family had declared marked by the ice bear's spirit. Her amusement changed to scorn instead. "Ah, so he loves you for your mind," she nodded as if this all made perfect sense. "A mind is a terrible thing to waste," she hissed the last word, threat hanging heavy. "How long do you suppose he will love you for just your mind? How long will a mere mind hold a heart as wild as his? Loins of our magnificent beast of a Lord are not content with tame submission, you know."

Her eyes flashed, and the scars on her own neck burned, filling her with longing for his feral affections. It occured to her that she'd seen no such marks on this delicate female's neck. Ah, so tame she was indeed! "If I only held him for my own time, what makes you think you shall do better?" She smiled once more. "You may have an inflated opinion of your own intellect, my dear, but you are hardly the only choice for such a skill." Her tail swung again in a slow, saucy arc behind her, knowledge and confidence oozing from her as a musk. "Others are as valuable, and who knows?" She turned to stalk a few steps away, pausing to only half-glance back towards the icy female. "One of us may just get our turn. When I do," she turned away once more and paced off, "you had best believe my rivals will find themselves made unappealling. For good."

Now here... here was a test of just how alpha this diminuative female was. Kiara continued to stalk away, senses alert for retribution.

Moghedien never allowed another to see her true emotions, or any emotions for that matter but right now she was finding it hard to keep her anger under management. This female had pushed her just that little bit to far, Moghedien knew she had rivals for a place by Chernabog's side and until the pack meeting no female would think much upon showing her little respect if any, she knew respect was earnt and she didn't want it solely given because she had managed to win Chernabog's favour but this was beyond a joke and something she was in no mood to tolerate any longer.

Kiara seemed to have no shame what so ever, she didn't rial up at her comments about her simply using her body to get to Chernabog, any female could do that, no in fact she seemed quite pleased at herself for this and kept suggesting this was again the way in which she'd snare his attentions. Moghedien however, knew him a little better, yes he was male and yes he'd be attracted to a female offering the warmth of her body but as a mate he wanted and more to the point, needed something more.

Moghedien watched as the female turned and began to walk away, the gesture of disrespect not escaping Mog. She curled her paws and dug her claws into the ground, the gesture slow and slightly but a large one for Mog none the less, enough was enough. She could not shout a retort at the female that would lower herself to a petty standard of shouting abuse at another jealous female and was not appropriate of an alpha. She also could not physically attack Kiara, knowing the other female was far stronger than her she'd gain nothing for it and brawling would have about the same amount of respect as shouting abuse, no she'd handle this like the alpha she was.

She stood at full height her, which wasn't much but it was noticeable in her stance and her voice commanded attention holding as much warmth as a bitter winter wind howling across moorland, 'Turn around this minute and face me, I will call ending to this meeting not you, how dare you turn your back on me.' Her icy blue eyes frosted over and the knowledge of Chernabog now as her mate caused her to be a little more bolder than she usually was, his personality rubbing off on her as hers did him. 'As much as you may not like the fact that I am alpha, I am and while I rule beside him you will show me the desired amount of respected needed.' Her eyes were now frozen solid on the beta female. 'And as alpha I declare that you are no longer to be the beta female, you have shown no worth in such a position, you do not manage the lords and ladies as the position dictates for they have only been sent to four packs over the last year and this is not acceptable. Furthermore you do not meet with the warriors which protect the packs boundaries, another of your roles as beta. The only thing you have shown any merit in is training one pup as a warrior and therefore you are demoted to the role of trainer, to make sure we have enough warriors for when my mate and your king needs.'

Kiara paused and looked back over her shoulder as the smaller she-wolf rattled off her tirade. Her eyes were narrowed as she listened wordlessly to the entire spiel. She she was done, Kiara made a quarter turn, an intentional insult to not fully face her 'better'. She gave a disdainful sneeze, cocking her ears saucily to the side afterwards. "Just saying you are alpha does not earn you the respect," she commented drily. "You have no means to back up your claims yourself. You must rely on His strength, His due respect."

She curled a lip. "You have no more means to make me stay and let you finish our talk than a rabbit has means to stop me from snapping its neck." Her feral smile made certain the implications were clearly read. "You are small, you are weak, and you use words as your weapons." She rose and stepped close again, letting her size lend her the ability to look downwards. "Your kind does not deserve to lead a pack as wild and ferocious as ours. I will give you your respect, but only when I feel the need to." Her expression was of utter contempt.

"As for rank, you may or may not have the power to demote me," and her tone spoke volumes as to what she herself believed, "but until I hear it from our Alpha Lord's lips himself, I will choose to act as I always have." She turned her back again, stalking away. "With or without your permission, your highness." She feared not this she-wolf. The female had no killer instinct, no drive to properly dominate. She made mental notes on how she herself would better handle such a situation, smiling to herself. Let the new "Alpha" rattle on at her back if she chose. Kiara was done with this confrontation. She had better things to do. Better things to plan.

Moghedien listening to the former beta's reply finally deduced that though the female seemed to hold no regard for her due to her lack of physical strength she seemed to lack the intelligence needed to realise that she herself was the total opposite of Mog; Kiara had been brutal with training Korrigan, to the best of her knowledge, the female didn't lack physical strength that was for sure but mental strength and cunning she lacked which was now plainly clear to Moghedien. She failed to release what Chernabog truly wanted, he himself was the strength and passion that drove the pack but Moghedien was the one directing it, cooling Chernabog's temper which often rose to blinding levels, Moghedien allowed him to see again. Kiara could not offer him anything that he himself did not possess and therefore a partnership between the two would never bare fruits for the pack other than perhaps strong pups.

Moghedien could argue the issue with Kiara further but evidently the female would not take in what she said, she hadn't up until this point so Moghedien regained herself with practised ease and played to her strength, she would lie in wait for her prey and strike when they were at their weakest and to get them there she'd pull the strings of her web. Thus she let the female to walk away, watching as she so naively lay the trap for her own downfall. Moghedien herself spared Kiara once last icy glance before turning and heading off to spin a greater web.
