Check out the double reed sticky in the woodwinds and brass subforum!
Also, be confident. Sure, you've just started on oboe awhile ago, it's definitely not gonna sound pretty. xd But the more confident you are in your playing ability, eventually you'll figure out ways on your own to sound a lot better.

Like they said, confidence is the key on the oboe. If you feel wimpy you'll get a wimpy sound everytime. Make sure your reeds are soaked properly, not too little and not too much, (both can be disasterous) and definately have a spare reed with you on stage. You never know what could happen. Be ready for anything.
