XXXXXXIt was a butterfly. A butterfly.
In the eyes of a pup it was as close to the god in the sky as one could get.
The ultimate prize, one that every young one longed for, reached for and jumped for.
It would be his. Yes, this golden treasure, with a bit a black, would be his to claim. He sat back, waiting. It was getting closer. Closer.
The young doberman colored, raccoon-tailed, big-eared pup was ready, ready to jump and claim his prize.
He leaped, soaring through the air, about a whole foot off the ground, just to time to nick a feather from it's body. Feather?
Toran watched in horror, feather hanging from his mouth, as the bird that ate his ultimate prize flew off. He tilted his head back and howled a squeaky song of sorrow.

She slowly padded through the forest glimmers of sunlight rained down all around her giving detailed light to small aspects of her fur. What once was flowing and beautiful was now matted. Clumps of mud and leaves hung from her fur. Still Lunar walked on, not an ounce of care to clean herself, only anger shown in her eyes.
"I'll kill that damned beaver, how dare he-"
She stopped suddenly, spotting out in an opening a small pup. As her eyes darted around she knew this wasn't her day. If there was a pup, there had to be a pack. Being an outsider and intruding upon someone else's land is not what she wanted, she was still aching from fighting the river current earlier. Never-the-less she padded out slowly into the opening constantly checking the surrounding area.
"Looks like your meal got away, oh well, it's better that way. Such a scrawny thing like you couldn't take down something as easy as a butterfly anyways.

XXXXXXToran whipped his head in the direction of the voice, his tail instantly beating happily against the forest air as he fell into a playful bow.
He, for one, never knew the difference between an enemy and an ally, and easily considered anyone to be a potential playmate.
"I'm not scrawny! And the bird cheated! I bet I could take both of them! I'll even fight you!"
He immediately charged at the other, his small legs padding along as fast as they could with his head low and ears pinned back.
He threw himself against the shewolf with all his might, only to be thrown backwards by the force, almost as if ramming a tree trunk.
He struggled on his back for a bit before managing to roll over, letting a small purr-like sound which he passed off as a growl.
"No fair! Play fair, ugly shewolf!"

"Ahahaa, you such a scrawny little pup, take a crow. Amusing."
Her eyes narrowed as he charged, and she braced herself as he impacted into her, rolling her eyes as he tumbled away. Her teeth began to reveal themselves at the pups comment.
"Careful what you say mutt, I haven't eaten today, and you're seem to be the right size to feel fill me up"
Lunar growled a deep throated growl as she took a few steps forward. Knowing she was pushing her luck, any second now she was expecting to be surrounded, but she was only intimidating the kid, she would never attack one of her own kind, at least one that couldn't defend themselves.
She stopped after about three steps and shook her head.
"Under that fur, you're probably still just fat, not enough good meat for me to waste my effort, now run home little mutt."

XXXXXXHe found himself quivering ever so slightly as she came forward, but refused to back up more then maybe a couple steps.
When she stopped, he snorted in victory, his head and tail held high.
"That's right ugly she-wolf! I'm stronger! Daddy taught me, and if he were here he would eat you! I can even go get him!"
He gave a toothy grin. He didn't know why a few wolves seemed to scurry off upon mentioning his dad, but it was a useful tactic that did nothing to stop his swelling ego.
Prancing around in a circle and threw Lunar a playful smirk every now and again.
"And my mommy's prettier then you."

Lunar began walking back towards the wood line ignoring his little rude comments. She knew this kid wasn't going to let up, but she really didn't need a fight on her hands. She kept her head forward as she walked clenching her teeth together holding her tongue back. "Prettier than you" Seemed to sneak it's way into her mind stopping her in her place. Her hair bristled dropping a few clumps of mud and leaves as her muscles tightened. Within a flash her body was turned around leaping towards the pup. She landed a few feet away rushing forward. As it seemed she was going to bite right through the pup, her teeth clamped down a few inches away from his face as she spoke through her teeth.
"Looks aren't everything mutt" *A soft growl pushed it's way out of her throat* "And you can call your daddy and your mommy if you want, but ask yourself this first, will you have time to yelp, or howl, or even yipe in pain before I shred you to pieces?"

XXXXXXPinning his ears back in irriation, Toran couldn't help but wonder why most adults acted like this.
They only pretended or acted like they were going to hurt him, but never did.
He had worse bites from his puppy playmate. He stood tall, leaning forward and defiantly biting down on Lunar's muzzle.
"I don't need Momma and Daddy! You're just like a little puppy and I can take you!" He stood up and attempted to paw the other's face, his longer then normal claws lightly scratching her.
