It doesn't take much to make me cry. (That really gets on my nerves too...) I got to where I would mute the commercials and ignore the television while it was on. At the time I was living in a household that had two pets that were purchased new... the female sugar glider owned by my brother-in-law, and my mother-in-law's now 19-year-old chihuahua.
The chihuahua had needed extensive medical care from the beginning...she had a ruptured bowel that had to be repaired at the very beginning.
My in-laws had also taken in three stray dogs, all who were sweet as can be! And I had a sugar glider who is considered a rescue. I am his third owner and his first owner's son had abused him.
So, it's not like that family hadn't done their part to make things better for the animals that came by.
They even fed this malnourished dog that wondered over to the house until they could take it to the animal shelter. The only weight on that large dog was puppy. She would have eaten just as much if not more than the other three dogs combined...they couldn't afford to keep her much less her and the resulting puppies.

That's so sad. But it sounds like your sugar glider found a good home at least.

Yeah. The only good part of his past is that he's not afraid of his shadow like Tink. (The brother-in-law's sugar glider.)

That's good at least. My feral cat is super skittish, though he adores my bf and me, and one or two other people.
