Veyes nodded and bit his bottom lip as he watched the egg wobble around bumping into the other flitts in the basket as it shifted. The little egg had its first crack as it banged a bit again Snitch, who seemed just a hair startled by the sudden wobble. He picked his small head up quickly and scooted to the side of the basket although he was a bit curious as to what would be in the shell.
Probably just as curious as Veyes, who took some of the meat that L'thor offered. "It will probably be a boy. You've got to be the best at picking up male eggs." He chuckled as the little crack along the egg started to split sideways and down the length. Then there was a small sigh on the inside of the egg and the movement stopped for a moment.
Veyes cocked his head, "Must be hard work to get out of the shell." He leaned forward just enough to take a closer look. The egg seemed pretty close to breaking up at this point in his opinion especially after all the hatching he had seen so far. "You know I bet it will just..."
He didn't get to finish his sentence when the egg popped with a sudden thwap by a small tail. The shell collapsed into a ton of small shards to reveal a tiny bright green flit. It's larger eyes whirled up to look at the face that wasn't too far from her head but then her eyes focused on the sliver of meat dangling between Veyes' fingers. Her voice started small but then crooned rather loudly.
Veyes snapped out of his awe at the sound of her boisterous voice and brought his fingers forward with the first bit of meat. The petite female took the meat quickly and scarfed it down. Then she used her bitty hands and started digging into his fingers trying to get to the rest of the pile he had in his palm. "She's really Mine! Owch!"
Of course, she was his...she was Mine! Mine was a perfect name for her. Yes, she was Mine and he was...Veyes. But...as she started gnawing on the rest of the meat that became more important. After a few minutes, she realized that she wasn't alone with HIM. There were....others.
Soon with a mouthful of meat and a bit of blood dripping down her chin, she turned around in Veyes palm and stared at the very large flits. Her head was taken back at how big they were but for some reasons these others seemed rather familiar. Did she know them? Maybe it was from the time in the basket as an egg. But now she started feeling a hair cold without the shell and warm bodies around.
"I think...oh my...she's named MINE! How did that happen, L'thor?! She's so cute!" He couldn't believe how fast she had taken to him. It could have been the meat that did it, but the sudden connection to her head had been quick as if she didn't waste time considering other options.
Her little voice squawked as she stretched her tiny neck upwards, as if she was trying to get as big as the other flits but having failed at that she shoved her face back into Veyes palm and grabbed up a second morsel.
However, soon...as the second one was almost all eaten, she hopped out of Veyes hand and was wobbling across the big basket stopping not to far from Dusk and looking up at him. She flapped her small green wings and shook just a little trying to get up to where he was but still not quite ready to bounce that far!
