Overview:
Habits: Sucking on grape suckers, showing up to meetings covered in dirt and muck without explanation, being really nice one minute and chewing your head off the next, walking around barefoot, writing upside down, muttering curse words under his breath when talking about others, eating with his hands, having very little care about the opinions of others, extreme profanity, and last but not least, a cruel sense of humor mixed with sarcasm.
Greatest Strength: His undying determination.
Greatest Weakness: His dismissal of everyone’s opinion but his own.

Is their soft spot obvious, why/why not: Of course not. He’d never let anyone see him contently petting a cat. It’d look like he has a weak spot for them or something.
If not, how do they hide it: He just does his best to ignore any feline in the area.
Biggest Vulnerability: His attitude.
Background:
Type of childhood: By all standards, pretty good, bit still relatively rough because of his father.
Most important child hood event that still effects him/her: Witnessed a large hollow attack at a young age. The scene was something that embedded itself into his memory, making it a frequent nightmare that haunts his dreams. The attack also resulted in the deaths of his closest friends.
Why? The attack was quite gruesome. To see such a thing as such a young age has had a huge impact on his outlook on life and views on many things, from hollow eradication to the treatment of prisoners.
Most at ease when: Eating among the few friends he has.
Most ill at ease when: Faced with odds so insurmountable that it even makes him nervous.
Priorities: His division and their duties. He will not let ANYTHING get in the way.
Philosophies: He looks at hollows and criminal shinigami as the same. Scum that needs to be either eradicated, or locked up until they rot.
How they feel about themselves: He thinks rather highly of himself and his abilities. When he is wrong about something, he has issues admitting to it.
Past failure they would be embarrassed to admit: Failure to stop an assassination attempt on a high ranking official. The mission itself was simple enough, but made a rookie mistake that cost him the mission.
Drives and motives: He may seem uncaring about most, but he actually cares quite a bit about the public in general. That is why he goes to the extreme lengths he does to get stuff done, even if people hate him for it. He wants to prevent a hollow attack on the scale that started him down this path, and to protect the public from dangerous criminals that could do just as much harm.
Also, his father held the belief that Ryusei would amount to nothing nor do anything worth meaning. This is a major driving force in his determination to prove him wrong.
Extremely skilled at: Hoho (agility) , Hakuda (hand to hand combat), kido, and Zanjutsu (swordsmanship), speaking different languages, and… karaoke
Extremely unskilled at: Cooking, dancing, taking care of fish, getting along with 11th, understanding women and writing.
Good characteristics: His loyalty to the Gotei 13 and his comrades, even if he doesn’t get along with them.
Character flaws: Way to eager to argue, breaks the rules willingly if it advances his plans and ambitions.
Peculiarities: When he isn’t working, he wears clothes from the living world. He also appears calm, and thoughtful, which is quite out of character for him.
Biggest regret: Failing to protect his friends from his childhood.
Biggest accomplishment: Raising his brother after the disappearance of their parents.
Darkest secret: Wrongly arrested a group of wandering entertainers and imprisoned them. No one knows at the present time. They’re still locked away in the Maggots Nest.

What do they consider their best physical characteristic and why: He considers his best physical characteristic to be his eyes. When he was a child he had a knack for getting out of trouble, and most attributed it to his calming eyes.
The worst one? Why?: His hair. It is completely uncontrollable.
How they think others preserve them: Though he cares little about how others think of him, he knows that they think of him as harsh at the least.
What four things would they most like to change about themselves:
~ He wishes that he could better understand people. He pins this as the number one reason for his attitude towards others.
~ He would like to change his habit of quickly dismissing the opinions of others. He knows that teamwork is important, but nevertheless he still brushes them aside.
~ His hair, he wishes that it would at least once cooperate.
~ He’d like to kick his sugar addiction, but it is one of the few things that calms him.
How do they relate to others: Ehhh….. 80% of the time not well. There is still the rare occasion that he gets along with other people.
How are they perceived by strangers: Depends on when they meet him. On a bad day they see him as a complete a**. On a good day they just seem him as a tough Captain.

Kind of problems they usually run into: Typically top secret orders and the transport and subsequent imprisonment of prisoners.
How they react to new problems:Typically the same way as old problems.
How they react to change: He just takes it for what it is, change. The only reason he’d complain about it is if it results in changing something he likes.
What do they do too much of, why: He’d say that he does way too much work, though he never complains about it. He believes it keeps him away from the few people he cares about. Others would say that he complains too much.
Most prized possession, why: A silver necklace that once belonged to his mother.
People they secretly admire, why: His brother. He admires him because that he can motivate people without having to use force and that he is liked by many.
Person they are most influenced by, why He is actually greatly influenced by the people around him. Majority of his actions are based off of the need for his squad.
Zanpakuto name: Hisa-me (pronounced: he-sa–me)
Zanpakuto sealed Appearance:
Shikai Appearance: The blade’s color turns a dark reddish-black and curves up slightly while emitting slight glow.
Shikai Release Command: “Fade to black"
Shikai Abilities: It’s called “Ghost Hollow,” at least that is what Ryusei calls it. Once released, his shikai takes over his body, casting a dark, transparent, ghostly mask over the right half of his face and a half cloak down that half of his body. The essence of this ghostly haze is death; it kills anything it touches that doesn’t have reiatsu. Its ability in a fight however is just as sinister; it burns/kills any flesh it comes in contact with, causing immense pain.
Bankai Appearance: The blade now glows like red hot steel, but is cool to the touch… if one would want to attempt to touch it. It is also longer than before, up to six feet in length.
Bankai Release Command: “Darkness take me from where I stand; release me from these bounds that hold me...”
Bankai Abilities: The “Ghost Hollow” takes over more of his body, now his entire being is covered in the haze. While he can be still hit physically by others, the haze will partially protect him from weaker kido. As for the zanpakuto; it has the same ability before, but now it numbs the body of his enemy. The bankai doesn’t come without its risks. During the entire duration of the bankai his body is in constant pain, which also lingers for hours after it is finished. He also loses his humanity during bankai, so he will do his best before hand to aim himself towards the enemy. (He has never used it in front of other captains)
