Let's see ...

Kicker - an optional cost of a spell that grants an additional effect

Trample - extra damage carries over to the player. Here's an example: let's say you have a 4/4 that has trample. your opponent blocks with a 1/1 creature. thus, the 1 damge kills the blocking critter, and the extra 3 damage goes to your opponent. nice, huh?

Landwalk - A critter with this ability cannot be blocked if defending player has any of the appropriate land. For example: if you attack with a creature with swampwalk, and your opponent controls a swamp, then your swampwalk critter can't be blocked. the same holds true for the other landwalks.

First strike - is deadly! xd No, seriously ... let's say that you have a 2/1 critter with first strike. your opponent then blocks said creature with a 3/2. your creature will live due to first strike, as your critter struck first, killing your opponent's critter before it had the opportunity to do anything.

Double strike: this one, I'm still a bit fuzzy on, but I'll try. A critter with Double Strike will basically throw a one-two punch. It is also considered to have first strike.

Anyone else that wishes to expound on this may do so. 3nodding

Just for the record you can't assign less damage to the creature and have it all go thru the trample (aka, in this example assign 0 to the creature and 4 to the player).

About First Strike and Double Strike, there's an independent step when you assign damage:

-Declare attackers
-Declare blockers
-First strike damage is assigned
-First strike damage resolves
-Normal damage is assigned
-Normal damage resolves

kicker- Kicker was an ability printed on the card that allowed you to pay that cost for extra. the card could be played without it, but with the kicker, sometimes making the card overpowered/underpowered/ still normal. usually it gave extra abilities or amplified the effects
breath of Darigaaz is a good example of amplifying the card.
Kavu Titan is a good example of a bonus and overpowering the card
Kavu Agressor is an example of underpowering the card with Kicker.
each kicker did something that represented the color of the kicker/ card.

trample- When your attacking with a creature that has trample, and it is blocked by a creature with less toughness to your creatures power, the remainder is dealt toy ou opponent.
ex:
you attack with a 5/5 trample.
your opponent can only block with a 0/4
the remainder is 1 damage which is dealt to your opponent's life, also the little crappy 0/4 creature your opponent tried to defend against you is dead because it was dealt lethal damage.

mountainwalk,plainwalk,forestwalk,etc.- this allows creatures the ability of unblockability, but only if certain conditios are met. for example,
Graceful Antelope. 1/4 Plainswalk, this card is unblockable as long as your opponent has at least 1 plains in play.
(for now lets exclude the Graceful Antelopes nasty effect)

first strike- This is easy. there are essentially two battlephases. the first strike damage step, and then the normal damage step later. all creatures with First Strike hit in the Frist strike Damage step, then the normal creatures deal their damage (if they are still alive)
Halberdier is a 3/1 first strike. and it's blocked by....a Llanowar elf (1/1 if you didn't know) because the Halberdier has first strike it gets to attack the Llanowar elf before the elf gets to deal that one measly damage that can kill the Halberdier. so now the elf is dead due to first strike damage and the Halberdier isn't because there wasn't anythig alive to deal any damage to it.

double strike- Works like First strike. except the creature gets to hit in both the First strike and Normal damage step.
Dragon Tyrant 6/6 flying, trample, double strike (nasty!)
attacks and is blocked by a Razorfoot Griffin (2/2, first strike, flying)
now the Tyrant has two things going on, it can attack the puny Griffin and thenblast through with the Trample for 4 Damage to the player during the first-strike damage step. but wait, heres the second part now that the Tyrant has the normal combat step it gets to attack again, and since the weak little Griffin died during the First strike damage step the second is directly aimed at the defending player.
so while the Tyrant is a 6/6. it will hit for 6 damage, and then it will hit for 6 more after all creatures with First strike attack.

you understand all that?
if not you can PM me i suppose

Now to be thourough, trample damage DOES NOT go through unless you assign it. If your 4/4 trampler gets blocked by a 1/1 you have to assign 1 damage to the creature and 3 to your opponent or the game assumes all damage is dealt to the creature. You have to assign at least enough damage to kill the creature but you can assign more if you like.

now i didnt really read too many of the comments ppl have said but double strike works like this.

first it is a firststrike fallowed by a normal strike... its like attacking with the same creature in 1 turn. a one , two hit so it seems...

If you check the offical rule book:

502.28 Double Strike

502.28a Double strike is a static ability that modifies the rules for the combat damage step.

502.28b During the combat damage step, if at least one attacking or blocking creature has double strike or first strike, creatures without double strike or first strike don't assign combat damage. Instead of proceeding to end of combat, the phase gets a second combat damage step to handle the remaining creatures. Creatures with double strike also assign combat damage during the second combat damage step.

502.28c Removing double strike from a creature during the first combat damage step will stop it from assigning combat damage in the second combat damage step.

502.28d Giving double strike to a creature after combat damage has been put onto the stack in the first combat damage step will allow the creature to assign combat damage in the second combat damage step, even if it already assigned combat damage in the first combat damage step.

502.28e Multiple instances of double strike on the same creature are redundant.

Venom Demon, this topic is really old, and your descriptions were not very good, if i didn't kow what they were already, i would have gone under some very interesting assumptions.
Kicker is a bad thing.
Trample, when does it activate, how much damage is it, what are the necessary parts needed.

whats so good about first strike anyways? do i need it to attack?

Double strike, whats Dould damage?
