Ok so i been thinking of using a lot of my gold on one 1st gen compass and a 2nd gen one for my mule would the item be a good investment right now?

How good an investment it will be remains to be seen. It's a $10 item by the same artist who did the Gogh Reed, so prices are sky high already because people are expecting it to follow in the Gogh Reed's footsteps.
It will probably be a reasonable investment, but the question is how much of your working capital will this eat up (given that the Gogh Reed took 22 weeks to fully evolve, and you won't see maximum profit until then)? Will it prevent you from taking advantage of other opportunities in the meantime?

It's definitely a good investment...even if it is long term.
