Welcome to the Poker Room, a subforum in the PPG specifically for games!
The stage is empty, the patrons are gone, and the halls are rather quiet. Mme. Giry's cane can no longer be heard thump-thumping on the hard wood of the Opera's backstage.
But one room still occupies a group. The smell of cigars, cigarettes, and beer hit your senses with such force, you reel back. Determined, you steel yourself, covering your mouth and nose with a kerchief, and peek inside the room.
A few of the workers and one baritone--you remember from his stumble onstage--are gathered around an overturned crate that supposedly carried some hay in it for Cesar and the other horses a cellar or two below your feet.
Cards are held in each hand, mumbling and shifting are heard. A set repairman folds down all four aces and the others groan and curse, even a few go to throw their cards at the winner. The man ignores it all and takes the francs sitting before him--for now.
The Poker Room will be for word games and all the other fun things our members can come up with. There seemed to be quite a few of them floating about, so I thought they deserved their own subforum.
