Vornel's threats had achieved what Val'atar's had not: obedience. While there was still powerful defiance in her features as she smiled at her master, the expression a mockery of his intentions, the fact that she turned away wordlessly and did as she was bid spoke more powerfully than any words.

With not small amount of unwillingness, she slithered out of her silky attire, an easy enough task with half the job already done, and began the task of carefully removing her jewellery. While the range of clothing Vornel had gifted to her was truly astounding, which her tasty for jewellery it was nothing in comparison to her collection of adornments. Even if it weren't in quantity, in value of each individual piece alone her collection could compete with her entire wardrobe.

With her preparations only half completed, the baying of the Yeth hounds interrupted her concentration. Hurriedly fixing the slender golden chain of her headpiece to her hair, she relocated to the window. Below she could see the Yeth hounds straining at their chains, snapping hungrily, their eyes trained on something they couldn't see over the perimeter fence, but that their nose was fixed on.
Another would-be visitor. Suddenly she wasn't feeling so bored any more.

With a smirk, she hurriedly finished her preparations, and headed back to where Vornel was no doubt entertaining their venerable guest.

She found them situated in one of the many seating areas, though someone had already beat her in formally welcoming the returned master of the city to their House.

"Ilharn. . . Ilharn." She bowed to each of them at her greeting, though she needed none. Dressed in silk as pale as her hair, beaded with what was likely real gold and gilt thread, she was hard to miss. There was just so much of her clothing as well. When it had been tailored to her form, she had made sure not to skimp on the amount.

Turning his head slowly, the half-demon regard Vornel for a long moment before nodding. He moves to a chair nearby and sits down, throwing his cloak out to shimmer and glitter as it catches the lights, before he settles himself back, legs crossed before him. This close, it was easy to see why he wore no boots, his scaled, clawed feet were ill suited for such things.

Crimson eyes watch the lord of the house with calm regard while he explains his view of the situation. With another nod, Val'atar lifts his arms and folds his hands behind his head as he relaxes.

"I have heard of the dancers. Their power on the surface grows nightly. Rest assured I already have spoken with some of our brethren on the surface via magic. Things are not lost, tho they need assistance. Likewise with those few in Ulorbbath who follow our God. I am currently trying to find aid where I can to send to them. Have you any suggestions?"

Glancing up as the female returns, his gaze hardens at the interruption, the relaxed pose gone as he rises to stand once more.

Llmryn waited for quite some time after the man at the door was invited in. There was no sign of anyone else showing up, so he took this as his moment to move to the door of the establishment. He pushed a stray strand of his silken hair from his feminine face before knocking at the door.

His mind was working wildly while he waited at the door. He had much to do, and much to lean now that he was back in the city. But, this visit wasn't just to learn the new layout of the city, but hopefully to relax a bit before he had to begin his feverish work to , again, establish himself and his House in the city.

As Ziervyll glided into the room, she was openly amused by Val'atar's defensive posture. She chuckled as he rose, gracefully folding herself into the space beside Vornel, one of her hands entwined in the luxurious dark fur of the cat that had taken residence in his lap.

"What a gentleman, to rise when a lady enters the room." She teased, well aware that it was something entirely removed from manners that had inspired the half-demon to rise.

She turned away, dismissing the visitor, and dragged the feline from Vornel's possession to her own. It slithered like water into her grasp, eager for a warm bed and heedless of who that bed was, and she cradled it like a babe, cooing to it affectionately.

"Iddle Sszadin. Is 'oo saying hello to our guest too?"

"Your consort seems inclined to think of me as she might any other noble born, how quaint Vornel. Tell me, did you train her to be so child-like or was it part of what drew you to her in the first place?"

A smile creases his cold features for a moment, as Val'atar turns from the female, to regard Vornel with a curious glance. Chuckling softly to himself, he walks over to stand across from them, one brow lifted ever so slightly.

"If your tastes run so young, perhaps I can offer some of the children of my slaves, surely their younger, firmer bodies would please you more than her aging one. Of coarse, it is your choice Patron.

In the meantime however, if your consort is finished with the tender murmurs to her pet, might we finish business? Its often regarded as poor taste in this city to allow your servants to direct the flow of conversation, but then I don't get mine in brothels, so I can't speak as to your own ways."

:. "Servant? How rich." A dark laugh escaped him, flashing the malice underneath. He waved Ziervyll out with a motion of his hand. "We are Illythiiri, Val'atar. Our way is subterfuge. Surely I do not need to remind you of this," he replied. "Ziervyll is a trained killer, born and bred. I will manage her as I see fit in the eyes of Vhaeraun." He left his remark at that.

"And if you are quite finished insulting my taste in females, we shall continue our negotiations."

His back sank into the seat behind him.

"I have mercenaries available for dispatch and direct lines to the surface. It has been some time since their blades met flesh... I'm sure they would appreciate the opportunity." He curled the hem of his fine cloak into his fingers.
"There is, however, another matter of concern to our cause," The fist tightened as an insidious smirk pulling the corners of his mouth.

"My sister." .:

"I am the eyes and hand of Vhaeraun Vornel.. or need I remind you of that?"

Glancing briefly after the form of the female, Val'atar turns and walks closer to the Patron, looking down at the drow before him with a cool, calm expression.Nothing about his demeanor suggested any aggression or hostility, he had spoken as a matter of fact. Waving a hand off to indicate the world above, he continues in a softer voice.

"Dispatch your mercenaries then, if you need I can summon Tanarukks to reinforce them. You have my leave to march as soon as your ready. Give me the location and my soldiers will be gated in."

Flaring his cape around himself, Val'atar sits back down after the brief exchange about soldiers, seeming to relax once more.

"As for your sister, tell me about her and the complication she represents. I must admit that your family is a bit of a blind spot in my knowledge. I welcome the chance to clear the view so to speak."

At first his waiting was patiently, but after quiet some time, he let out a snarl and turned away from the door. "Rather rude to keep someone waiting...but I suppose my best option is to just come back later..." He fixed his cape and turned his back on the establishment for the time being, but he would indeed be back.

As he stepped out into the streets once again, a spider dropped out from under his cape. It was quick to scamper off and hide in one of the ally ways across the street. It was like no other spider anyone would of seen before, one of his special creations. It only had one eyes, the size of a human eye. The eye was blue and had a slit like a cat's eye. The body was pure black, other than the underbelly. On the underside of the spider was a magical circle, dark red like blood. This was only one of the few he had already posted around the city, but this was likely to be one of the better spots from this little arachnid.

:. "So noted.. I have spent my life in the service of Shadow. That is memory enough."

He paused, eyes wandering after his female.
"If it would please the Masked Lord, my consort is as powerful in the ways of deception as she is full of herself." Vornel said with pure delight, as Ziervyll shot him a contemptuous glance. "It would be well within her abilities to bewitch the Dark Lady's followers into thinking she was one of their own-- a direct spy..." He said thoughtfully "after all, I must consider some form of reprimand for her foul behavior... that is, unless she would be of better use elsewhere. Your thoughts?"

After she'd stormed out of view, Vornel's expression went noticeably dark.
"As for the other thing: my elder sister resides in Ulorbbath. As the master of this city, surely you have heard her name." He spoke this softly, remembering the decades of viper wounds in his back, now replaced with deep scars.
"Ulvira... My own sources are led to believe she is soon to become Lloth's fool: a moment she has been waiting for since the day she became Matron Mother; one every priestess would kill countless for. This... change... will undoubtedly mean we can expect a renewed zeal for bloodshed from the Spider Kissers.. and ultimately, my sister's glorious end."
Vornel's digits now clamped the arms of his chair.
"But I wish to deny her that end, either with a dagger in her throat, or a life spent imprisoned and tortured under my loving care. She is, after all, family." he finished wickedly.
"Of course, as your underling, I will leave the particulars of defense up to you. By the grace of Vhaeraun, all I wish is to see her crawl like the bug she is." .:

Watching the exchange with a cold delight, Val'atar actually found himself chuckling as the consort stormed off. Oh he had some ideas for her alright, but none of them involved her bewitching anyone, in fact it was closer to herself becoming bewitched, a few years spent thinking she was cursed to look human or worse, as a kobold would do wonders for her sanity and her attitude.

Val'atar had allowed his mind to wander for a moment, snapping back at the mention of a name. He turns towards Vornel, questions rolling through his mind.

"Ulvira.. you say she is your elder sister. How delightful Vornel. I do believe I once had an accord with her, of coarse it came to nothing, but we spoke a few times."

With a feral smile, Val'atar rises, walking over to his younger drow associate. A cold, calculating look replaces the smirk that had occupied his features moments ago.

"But of coarse your revenge has its place Ilharn, do whatever you need to see it accomplished so long as it harms not this city. Should you need support, I of coarse will be there for you. My house, servants and magic will be at your call.

However, in the meantime, this city has begun to fester like a wound. There are factions in play that need to be reduced and creatures who need remember their places. I have a simple task for you to keep you from boredom between bouts with your consort and wanderings of vengeance filled thoughts.

The thieves of this city have begun to infiltrate houses. I'd like them in their own guild where we can keep them in check, rather than wandering our very houses as members with privileges. I'd like you to open your doors to any thief looking for a place to take shelter. Once you have a few, kill them in a manner that will send a message to the others. Pests have their place, but it is not within one's home. I trust you can make that message known."

Striding across the room, Val'atar makes for a darkened corner, the shadow of a large ornamental decoration. He pauses once his feet are firmly within the darkness cast by it and turns to regard Vornel with a bemused look.

"Send your consort to infiltrate the dancers if you wish. Should she need it I have other servants on the surface already who can aid her. Or if you tire of her, then I can think of a few ideas to pass the years improving her attitude. It is your call, your consort. Dark Deeds my brother, may our father conceal you from our enemies and shadow your steps while you carry out his work."

As he speaks the last words, the form of the Patron of Qu'ellar Druu'giir falls down into the shadows as if a hole had opened below him. Once gone, the room brightens ever so slightly, candle flame rising ever so, faerie fire glow becoming stronger now that his presence was gone.
