(THIS IS AN RP BETWEEN KAI, AKILI, NIKOLAI, TEYKALI, AND POSSIBLY TORREN JOHN, ATHOSIA, AND THE THIRD FOAL... there wasn't enough space in the subject bar for all the names. wink ) Kai gave a low whine, looking around at her brothers that were around her. Sure, she had an older sister, but she didn't see her too often. The flutter stallion looked at his younger sister, with a slight grin. Of his parents third breeding, she was the only one with wings, she was also the second female, and the first of the females to have wings. Naturally, he would be more protective of the younger filly. Though, if he were honest, at times, it really sucked to be a flutter- he could protect her, but not as well as her sister, or her other brothers could. Niko gave a light laugh, having heard his youngest siblings 'complaint'. She was the last to leave her basket, and was smaller of his three new foals that he quickly learned to love. Then again, how can you not love your younger siblings?

"What's wrong, Kai?" Teykali asked anxiously, nuzzling up to his small sister. The tan colt was large and sturdy compared to his younger sibling, but that wasn't hard to do when she was already so small and delicate.
Despite the presence of their older siblings, Teykali still felt protective of his sister. He felt lost when he was alone, and gladly fell into the role of the guardian when he got the chance. He knew he wasn't as smart, or as fast as other foals, but he loved his sister dearly, and would do anything to make her happy.

Kai gave a grin to her brother, before giving a slight sigh.
"Nothin'." It was partially true, but partially untrue. While nothing was seriously wrong, she didn't like being the shortest, even though Aki, her father, and John were also all flutters like her. Even when she was mature, she'd still be the shortest; she was female. She cuddled up next to her brother. One of the good things about being around all males: they'd all let her get away with things, she was the baby of the family, and the most 'delicate'. They kept her warm, and safe. For that, she loved them unconditionally. She gave Teykali a grin.
Akili watched Kai and Tey from a short distance, Nikolai was close by as well. The foals were young, and they were protective. Aki found it rather adorable how Tey was almost protective of the filly, though his size was against him for now. Not that he could really talk...Tey was about his size, maybe even larger, despite Aki being older. 'The joys of being a flutter' Aki thought.
Happy to see that Kai would be watched and cherished by one of his younger brothers, Nikolai relaxed. Looking at Aki, he grinned as he took in his stiff posture. Aki was protective of the youngest of the 7 siblings. Possibly due to her being a flutter which made her fairly small. He went back to looking at the two foals with amusement.

Teykali wrinkled his nose in confusion. Kai said she was okay, but she didn't sound happy. He was always bewildered when others said something while seeming to mean something else. Such things were far too subtle for the forthright foal to decipher.
"Do you wanna maybe play a game? Or we could go exploring," he said enthusiastically, hoping to find something that would make his sister happy. He was pleased when she snuggled against him, but felt that he needed to do something more to cheer her up.
"I could find you some flowers," he added after a thoughtful pause, glancing down at her. He knew that girls liked flowers, and girls with wings seemed to like them especially. He himself didn't understand their appeal. They smelled okay, but not nearly as nice as some fresh grass. They didn't taste as good as grass did, and so he dismissed them as being one of the many mysteries he would never understand about females.

Contemplating her brothers words, Kai cocked her head to the side. Flowers were nice...but, games were fun. However, exploring also sounded like it would be fun.
"...Tey, do you think that we could maybe do all three?" she spoke timidly. Kai wasn't sure that her brother would go for it, but she had to ask.
"Like...maybe go exploring, and along the way we can pick flowers, too!" she explained. The thought of a game had been left out, simply because she was unsure of how to include it in with the other two.
The thought of an adventure made her smile, she liked the idea of seeing new things. Deciding to raise her shots of getting to do that, she gave opened her eyes wider than they were, and looked at her brother innocently.

"That sounds like a great idea!" Teykali said enthusiastically. He enjoyed exploring more than the average foal, and was always pleased to explore with one of his siblings. Plus, this way Kai could pick her own flowers, which took the pressure off of him to find good ones.
It was already midday, and Teykali knew that their parents would be worried if they stayed out past nightfall, so he stood up quickly, and looked around for a good place to start exploring.
"We should go now, so that we can be back before it gets dark," he said, shaking his mane out and stretching. He waited patiently for his sister to rise, so that they could begin their adventure.

Kai stood slowly, stretching once she was standing. Her small wings fluttered softly. The filly gave a slight nod to her brother. Sticking close to him, she looked back at Niko and Aki who were still a short distance away.
"Should we let them know that we're going? Or do you think it will be alright?" she said. While Kai was more than excited to go exploring with her brother, she didn't want to worry two of her elder brothers.
"Which way should we go first?" she said as she looked around the area. There were quite a few ways to go.

"We'll be okay, we can be back before it gets dark, so they won't worry," Teykali reassured her, glancing back at their two brothers. He was in a hurry to get started, and it seemed like it would take far too long to try and explain to the adults where they were going.
Wrinkling his nose, the foal snuffled at the wind, wondering which way they should go. Finally, he noticed a small animal trail leading away into the forest. Excitedly, he pointed it out to his sister.
"We should definitely follow this trail so that we can catch the beast that made it and protect the herd!" he said enthusiastically. What a grand adventure this would be.
Winter was beginning to melt away, and the trail was clear in the softening ground. The foal wondered how long the trail went on for, and decided it wasn't important. It was a direction, and he was going to take it.

She nodded slightly, trusting her brother. As she listened to him, she nodded once more.
"Let's go!!! We gotta hurry!" Kai was eager to get a move on the adventure that her and Tey were going on together.
Scampering off down the trail without a second thought, Kai grinned and looked back at her brother.
"TEY! Come on!! Let's gooooooooooooo!" She knew she sounded like she was whining, but she didn't care. There was so much to do, and so little time to do it. She wasn't sure how long the trail went, or what they would find at the end of it, but at the moment, it didn't really bother her much. The only thing that did bother her was getting back before sundown, hopefully...but that was primarily because they'd be in big trouble otherwise.

Teykali scrambled to catch up to his sister, falling into step beside her as the two foals followed the trail. Through the forest, around bushes, over logs, and even across a stream they traveled. It seemed as though whatever had made the trail had a very meandering purpose in mind.
The tan colt glanced up at the sky. It was only mid afternoon, they still had plenty of time. He began to slow his gait a little, taking time to notice the small rocks and flowers that lay discreetly to the sides of their trail. A few flowers had promising scents, and he bent to nibble them. Not bad, but it certainly wasn't fresh grass.
Thinking of fresh grass made him aware of his rumbling stomach. He hoped they would find something to eat soon.
"Kai, do you think we should head back soon? I'm hungry." he commented, glancing up to see his dark turquoise sister. She wasn't there. Startled, he glanced around to find himself quite suddenly alone in the forest. The trail was out of sight, and so was his sister.
"KAI?!" he bellowed, not scared, really, but worried that she might become frightened when she found that she was alone.
