So my family is celebrating Christmas a little late this year. My brother plays D1 football, and his team is going to a Bowl game... Yay! But he doesn't get home until the 28th.. Boo...
He gets a PSP just for playing in the game... he doesnt play video games, but he is giving it to my other brother... Im slightly depressed. Lol.
I wish I was little again. I was so spoiled on Christmas... but this year my mom flat out told me that we aren't getting much of anything...
Is that bad that that makes me sad.. does it make me greedy and such? >.<

I feel the exact same way the only thing I'm getting for Christmas is a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. When I was younger I use to get lots of stuff. It seems the older I get the less I get.

I know I got two pairs of jeans...
But yeah... this Christmas I went "all out" for my family...
For my dad I got him a wallet (classic), a belt, some undershirts and a mp3 player
My mom, some boots and the sock... feet warm thingies... Lol
My brother, 2 button up shirts, some underwear and undershirts
For my other brother, a button up shirt, shirts to match, and a pair of shoes...

That may not be "all out" to anyone else, but it is for me. sweatdrop

To me it seems that you are going all out since you have to buy so many gifts. My family will be lucky if they even get a card from me.

[Last year, I tried to "go all out" for my family; I got them clothes, got pictures taken of us kids for my parents...I just did a lot. And, Disruptive, the stuff you bought is "going all out." 3nodding I wish I could do that this year. Next year I will. This year, I can't afford to spend a lot of money of gifts, so the small gifts I could get, my company and dazzling personality will have to be enough for them this year. razz

Yes, it does seem like the older you get, the less you get in terms of gifts. When you're a little kid, you want pretty much every shiny, expensive-looking, (even if it's not really expensive), popular gadget that you see. So, your parents can get you pretty much anything. Also, when you're school-aged, it's more about "quantity" than "quality" most of the time. You want to be able to say, or at least have the confidence in knowing, that you were "special enough" to receive tons and tons of gifts. rolleyes

The older you get, the more likely it is that you have an opinion of your own. If you're a kid, "I'll GIVE you your opinion," as Mom would always say. But when you're old enough to have your own likes and dislikes to where not just any old gift will do, that's when it gets challenging AND expensive. The point at which the toy section at Walmart or Toys R Us won't satisfy your needs is the point at which parents have to start putting more effort into gift-buying, not to mention more cash. Personally, that's why I give less to older people. They are hard to shop for and it costs so much to get something a grown-a** person deserves or wants. 3nodding ]
