Scales are a race of lizard people that can't use any magic and are descended from dragons. They are the tallest of the races, and the most tactical in combat. Their society determines what you will be from birth, but treats everyone with respect, even those lower than them. Even so, they are very prejudiced to the other races, and see them as nothing more than insects that they can step on. Instead of hair they either have fins or horns. Being descendants of dragons, some can breathe fire, but this trait is rare. Also rare is being born with wings or a tail, but to have all three is considered a blessing on the family. This will insantly give them privileges only the king has. They prefer to use knives and daggers, along with their claws.
