Hm I don't think we can but we could just do matches, so say if I brawled Tim and Tim beat me then he would go to the next match and I would be kicked out.
While the other two players fight and the one who wins would brawl Tim..

I went to a torunament, and they had good rules, three stock, no items, one on one, the players agree on a stage, best two out of three wins for each match. Also if you lose the first round you still paly, you play the other losers, like so:

So if you loose the first round, you still have a shot and can continue.
