Balcombe Curiosities was in one of those 'slow days' that Switch always talked about. As far as Kay understood, that meant there wasn't a lot of people coming by to talk to, or to play with...which of course meant that he was going to be incredibly bored. Unfortunately for everyone involved, this was also one of his more restless days, where no single project or activity could keep him entertained.

He'd gone shrunken head bowling using poor Mrrh as the ball, he'd dug through the piles of stuff on the shop, but gave up despite the few neat items he had found; even once he tried to jog on the spot! But nothing seemed to work, and by the time Switch went up to the second floor to see if she could find any history on the shop itself, he was laying on the ground on his back, spread eagle and staring at the dusty, old, creaking ceiling.

"Naaaaaaaa." He called out, loud enough for his Guardian to hear him from where ever she was upstairs. "We need a TV!" He yelled again, waiting to hear something, if anything, in response.

There was really nothing to be said about Michael's entrance other than it seemed to have been planned. As if cued by an off screen director, the boy with the television for a head bursts into the shop with wet, squeaky shoes and stretching arms. Static ripples momentarily before the screen - no, the boy's face - comes to life.

"Laaaadies and gentlemen, a-good evening to you! And now, to Milwaukee with my co-anchor in the field.."

The face is of a smooth shaven man, and the picture is all in shades of grey. The face stops in an anticipatory awesome-face expression as the boy gestures toward Kay as if there really was some script they had planned to follow, and the other boy hadn't gotten the memo.

Kay shot up from where he lay, sitting bolt upright and staring with one wide red eye at the door...but more specifically the boy that stood in front of it. He had a television head?! Whoa, what timing! He stared at the face for a while, trying to figure out what was going on...but then it sank in. Name! He was waiting for a name!

"Xbalanque!" He cried out happily, jumping to his feet and stretching his arms over his head. "But you can call me Kay!" Laughing, he wandered up to the other boy, grinning that wide happy grin of his. This was fun, he would play along for as long as he could. "Live from Balcombe Curiousities! Back to you..." He stared at his sudden and new best friend, waiting for him to follow their 'script', too.

Michael tips his head, wobbling slightly to recover his balance due to the sheer size of the thing, and silently notes not to do that too much. He instead makes the face inside his face tip HIS head instead. What a weird concept!

"Incredible! Folks, we have here an early look at the scene, where earlier today, a massive dinosaur rrrrripped through the shop and left a mess that would make you ladies cringe. Tell me, Kay, what in blazes happened next?!" he chimes, and waves his arms around a little.

The boy acts over the top, but his new friend's enthusiasm just feeds Michael's lust for over-the-top action. And the fact that Kay didn't miss a beat thrills the boy, who, up til now, just had the boring company of his Mom and her brother, the most unimaginative bunch of cubes ever!

Kay tilted his head while he watched the boy bobble back and forth, chuckling when the head on the TV nodded instead. That was fun! He'd met all sorts of interesting people, but right now this one was his favourite! The TV-headed kid was setting up some epic story for him, and after rubbing his chin thoughtfully, he brightened again and motioned back to him, into the mess of the shop.

"You wouldn't believe it! A Giant Tetris block knocked that dinosaur off it's feet! There was an epic battle over the territory!" His face pulled into an absolutely mortified expression, trying to convey the horror of a Dinosaur fighting a Tetris Block. "Luckily, the battle was brought to an end by Mrrh, who wielded a plastic bowling pin with such skill!" Laughing happily, he pointed back at the shrunken head that he had named Mrrh, who was laying on it's face beside a hot pink bowling pin. "There were few to no casualties."

Michael slaps himself upside the head in disbelief. The horror, the drama, the suspense! Everything that makes great TV!

"Folks, my co-anchor Kay has given us the most incredible news. Make sure to lock your doors tonight and tuck the kids in tight, for when you tune into this channel once again, even more incredible news might be waiting for you!"

The boy's screen turns to static, and the picture fuzzes into the black and white picture of a boy actor who is quite familiar to anyone who's seen a show with the name of an animal in the title.

"Hey, that was great!" he chimes in a very much kid kind of way. "You're like, crazy man! Where'd you learn to go ape, and kill it so good?" In a very round about way, he compliments his new friend with absolutely outdated slang.

Kay was grinning in delight as the 'news' wound down, and when the boy's face turned static his red eye widened, waiting eagerly for what would happen next. The younger face appeared and the Shaman cheered, throwing his arms in the air. The pattern of speech made him pause, and he stared for a moment or two, trying to figure out what was going on. Eventually it clicked, and he laughed.

"I'unno but it's fun! You talk funny." Kay pointed out helpfully; in truth he loved it, it was so different from the normal! "That was awesome though! Hey hey, What's your name?" Wasn't fair that the TV kid knew his name, and Kay was left in the dark!

"I am Michael Mileos, and that was the 7 o' clock news!" He pumps his fists in the air and strikes a pose in a very uncharacteristic way, much more like a kid now than before.

"That was boss!" he chimes, clearly excited that someone plays along with him. GOD, it's been boring for him back at the store. He gives a shrug and plays it cool to answer his bud's question. "It's no sweat, I just don't wanna be square. Just what's up here."

He taps the side of his head, which doesn't exactly make a noise that you'd expect, but it definitely makes some sort of sound when he does it.

"Michael...Mike, then? Cool!" The boy said with a grin, laughing over the pose and mimicking him for fun. His head tilted when he got an explanation for the way he talked; it didn't make sense at all! But, eh, whatever! His head made a cool noise, all was right. "Oooh...Can I try?" He asked, hopping closer and holding up a fist to make a knocking motion. Did it only happen when Mike did it, or was it all the time? Oooh he must know! Also, he wanted to hear that fun noise again.

"I can't leave the shop right now, but whattcha wanna do, eh?"

His head, when tapped, makes some sort of noise between plastic and flesh; it rings out as if its hollow, but very muffled. It's a strange noise, and repeats when Kay also goes to do the same.

Michael overexaggerates and makes the person on his face-screen swirl a bit. Or does he actually mean to do this? He seems as stunned as the next person over it. Seems that hitting the side of the TV creates some sort of interference!

"Uhm," Michael responds, holding his head still with both hands straight up above his shoulders. The TV fuzz fades. "What's there to do around here?"

Kay giggled when the screen distorted, stepping away just in case it actually hurt him. It felt funny when someone hit his head, but everyone else always told him that it actually hurt. Oh well, he didn't understand that kind of pain anyway.

"Uhm...good question." The kid pondered, his red eye going wide while he looked around the shop, trying to find something they could both do. "...Shrunken Head bowling?" He suggested, holding up the poor shrunken head, Mrrh, in question.
