All was quiet in the den area as Kunoichi made her patrol rounds, eyes constantly searching for someone or something that didn't belong in her pack. Though, for as long as she had been there, and even longer than that she was sure, not a single threat had shown itself. Recently she had begun to wonder if there was really a need for such protection, but then word reached her ears of a particularly violent pack wandering the lands. That was all she needed to reaffirm her purpose in Westfall and since then she had been ever more diligent in her patrols. She didn't want any dragons attacking this pack she was quickly becoming fond of, even if they didn't all appreciate her dark coat color.

Pausing to survey her current area, Kunoichi noticed one of the white-pelted dragons from her pack. It took her a moment to realize who it was, at times the two mountain princesses looked almost identical. But this one lacked the vibrantly colored star on her hip, which helped her figure out it was Phoebe. Rather than approach her or make her presence known, Kunoichi stayed silent where she was. She knew at least one of the princesses wasn't fond of dark colored dragons and she wanted to avoid any form of conflict between herself and the future leaders of the pack.

User Image Not very long ago, Phoebe wouldn't have noticed her. But the sight of a dark dragon lurking near by frightened her more than she dared to admit. Everything was wrong though, it wasn't Muerta. Her plan was working, why did she feel disappointed? She stayed where she was, thinking things over. She was just being stupid. Childish even.

She turned to look at the other dragon once more and she had to wonder - what was she hiding? Muerta had surprised her and opened her mind to new and interesting possibilities, what did this other dark dragon have to say?

Never timid, Phoebe got up from where she was sitting and headed towards the other dragon. "Hello!" she called. "Nice day, isn't it?"

To be honest, she was surprised the white dragon even noticed her. Kunoichi really expected to pass through this are without even a glance from the princess. But this was a pleasant surprise as she had always wanted to speak with one of the Maman's offspring now that they were all grown and, hopefully, a bit more mature. She was still so new to the pack and really didn't know much about its past or about those that were currently members. Respectfully, she bowed her head to Phoebe and looked to the sky, "Greetings, princess. It is indeed a good day. I hope I find you in equally as good health." She lowered her gaze back down to the other dragon, offering a polite smile.

What a strange dragon! Phoebe was fascinated, she had never met anybody who stared at the sky while speaking before. Unless it was because of her rank? She was the princess after all, and this strange dragon had a dark pelt.

Strange dragon. Phoebe grimaced; the other dragon had recognized her and she didn't even know the other's name. Or had she recognized her? She had called her "princess," but there were three princesses, and they were the only ones running around with horns on their snouts apart from the Maman - who everybody recognized - and Arthus, who was male.

Uncertain of how to proceed, Phoebe stopped at a safe distance and smiled encouragingly. "It is indeed a nice day," she said. "I don't believe we've met? Or perhaps we have, but when I was younger... I'm Phoebe."

This wasn't a surprise, that Phoebe didn't remember her. She was right though, the only time they had really been near each other was when she was still very young and Kunoichi couldn't expect her to remember. At least the princess was being friendly, that made her less concerned with generating a negative reaction and even prompted a small smile, "Indeed, we did meet when you were young and it was but briefly. I am Kunoichi."

In the back of her mind, Kunoichi was telling her self to wrap this up quickly so that she could return to her watch. But since joining Westfall she had met so few of her pack mates and she wasn't about to pass up a chance to speak with one, even if it meant neglecting her duty for a short while. Besides...Phoebe might know some things about a particular pack member who had been occupying Kunoichi's mind of late.

Oh damn, they had met. "My apologies Kuno... Kunoichi," Phoebe said. "I'm afraid I don't remember too many dragons from when I was younger, aside from my family. And Annie, she joined the pack shortly before I was born. It's been strange, watching the pack grow. Strange in a good way, I mean. It's nice to see the place thriving, but it makes it harder to know everybody. But I'll do my best not to forget you again." She smiled apologetically, and she truly meant it. What kind of princess would she be if she couldn't even tell her pack mates apart? A lousy one, that's what.

"It's quite alright to simply call me Kuno, it's what Annie and Dryad call me. My name seems to be a bit troublesome to everyone." She had often wondered about that, why her name seemed to twist everyone's tongue. Perhaps it was because she wasn't born in this area and her name was simply a bit foreign to them. Regardless of the reason, she didn't mind the nickname she had been given and was actually growing quite fond of it.

"It is nice to see so many new faces joining the pack, but at the same time I feel as if I know so little of those who were here before." Even though a part of her wanted to stop herself from what she would say next, she couldn't help it. The subject of the statement had been such a heavy thought on her mind of late that the words just slipped out before she could even think of what she was saying, "I would like to know more about Annie," and in an attempt to save herself she calmly added, "as well as the rest of the pack, eventually."

"I'll learn it," Phoebe said. "Unless you'd prefer to be called Kuno? It's your name; I shall learn whatever you want to be called."

Phoebe tilted her head slightly and thought over the question. "You have to remember, most of my memories of Annie are... well, they're from my childhood. I am sure she acted differently around us because we were children. But I remember her as always happy, always ready to play a new game. She was a lot of fun to be around."

Kunoichi couldn't resist smiling. Phoebe was much more polite than the rumors of the princesses had made her out to be and her insistence on learning her name made her all the more likable, "It does not matter, truthfully. I like both names and respond to either one." She really didn't care. While she had been given the name Kunoichi and had always gone by it before, she had come to accept Kuno as the special name the pack had given her.

She nodded as Phoebe spoke of Annie, glad that her curiosity didn't seem to go noticed as something odd. It was a shame the princess didn't know more about her, but Kuno was glad to hear anything about Annie. She wanted to know everything she could about her to clear this recent and very strange thinking from her mind, "I see. She does seem to be rather fond of children. Do you know anything of her family? She seems to be a bit...distraught over her situation with them."

"Kuno then," Phoebe said, although she stored a private note in the back of her mind to learn Kuno's full name. And learn it perfectly. What kind of princess would she be if she didn't?

"Her family? Huh." She truly did have to stop and think about that one. "I think... well. Far be from me to gossip, and I can't recall if Annie is the one who told me or if I heard about it from somebody else, but... I think she might be searching for her father? Or her mother. I can't remember which."
