Arson shrugged. "It's no problem. Ivy likes girls better than guys, but she's never really been one to get into a relationship. It's her defense mechanism." he replied, slowing Snow to a stop. With careful agility, the boy swung his leg over Snow's side, taking great care with not hitting his wings. "You're totally fine with it." Arson said, a chuckle short beneath his voice. He held out his hand for Ayame to take and grinned broadly when she spoke again. "Yes! I got one with an apetite!" he said, something like innocent enthusiasm in his voice. "Yeah. I didn't really eat much either."

Ayame tucked this piece of information away into the back of her mind. She wasn't forgetting about the fact that Ivy was into girls; Ayame just wasn't thinking about that fact at the current moment. It wasn't important to her life at the time, and didn't involve her. So no point in wasting time thinking about it. "Her defense mechanism...?" Ayame repeated slowly. "Well, I'm glad you don't have the same defensive shield." She took the hand Arson offered her, even though taking his hand was against her better judgement, as she neatly slide from the pegasi's back, keeping one eye on the wings at all times. Despite the fact that Snow had been fairly gentle the entire time, Ayame was sure just looking at his wings the wrong way would set the winged stallion off. Which was not really what Ayame was aiming for. Despite what most people thought, she did try to go through life unscathed, although this plan never worked out in her favor. Grinning at Arson, Ayame leaned in, and gave him a quick peck on the cheek. "Glad to see you aren't one of those boys who likes girls who starve themselves." She nearly sang. Right now, Ayame was feeling bubbly. Which didn't really happen that often. "Well then, let's go." Still holding Arson's hand, Ayame turned to head in the direction of the mess hall.

Arson shrugged. He never really liked talking about his past or the source of Ivy's aversion to men. It brought him back to the days when he was twelve and couldn't understand why his mother was never home or why his father was so nonchalant. It reminded him of the days with them wandering aimlessly around Seattle, fending off strange creatures with the mystical powers that they posessed. He smiled when she kiessed his cheek, and Snow gave a low whinny, as if offering his approval. He laughed at the white stallion, before leading him back into the stables and taking off all of his gear. With a short bit of concentration, Arson produced a small apple in his hand and fed it to the white pegasi before walking back out to meet Ayame. "It's not attractive, watching someone starve." he said, reaching for her hand and walking with her.

Ayame sensed Arson's reluctance to talk about his past; a reluctance she too shared. Still, if they were going to end up as a 'couple' (and Ayame shuddered at the thought of being labeled like that), then they would have to tell each other a little bit about themselves, right? But maybe wasn't the best time to press that issue. Humming to herself, Ayame racked her brain for something to talk about, anything to talk about. And slowly, she felt her bubbly mood fade. Not that Ayame was in a bad mood now. She just wasn't happy-high. That was alright though. Ayame got the feeling that bubbly wasn't really her style. "Thank God." Admitting defeat on the fact that there wasn't anything she could think of to talk about, Ayame let her mind wander. This time, however, it didn't wander to what Arson looked like without a shirt on. Instead, Ayame found herself remember the time she had went with Sho to get his tongue pierced. If she remembered correctly, Ayame herself had been the one who had talked him into doing it. Which would probably explain why he hadn't talked to her for a week after that. And why Ayame had been grounded for a month. Still, coaxing Sho into getting his tongue pierced had been totally worth it. He was one of the few and rare people who would actually pull off a tongue piercing. Even though it made kissing a right pain in the @$$. Smirking to herself, Ayame wondered if Myka had found this out the wrong way. She certainly hoped so. "What was that?" She asked Arson, snapping back to attention. "Oh yes. Girls starving themselves." Ayame shuddered. "Really nasty. May I again repeat how glad I am that you're not into that." Noticing the apple Arson fed to Snow, she pretended to pout. "Oh I get it. Feed the horse an apple, not your attractive girl-friend."

Arson played with the hand in his for a moment. He ran his fingers over Ayame's knuckles, taking care to note that they were nearly as worn and strong as Myka's. A smile crossed his face; he had a fighter. His thumb stroked her hand warmly as his other hand made it's way into his pocket. "Very unattractive. I'd be too busy worrying about breaking you every time I tried to touch you." he replied, feinging worry in his voice. Arson laughed somewhat, before planting a soft kiss on the top of Ayame's head. "That's only because the horse is not nearly as attractive at you. You get more than an apple, while Snow's treat pretty much stops there." he replied.

"What are you doing?" Ayame asked in a flirty amusement, glancing down at their intertwined hands. "Reading my palm? Please tell me what you see there, Oh Mystic Seer! Will I have lots of child? Live to the good old age of ninty five? Have lots of grandchild? Lots of money maybe? Or do you see my soul-mate?" She tilted her head, and squinted at their palms. "I see him...look, he's right there! Well, at least for the time being." She grinned. "Yes, thank the Gods you don't have to worry about breaking me. Or me having to worry about breaking you." One nice thing about being a supposed child of the Gods meant that you were stronger that normal humans. Ayame was pretty sure that with Arson, she wouldn't have to worry about breaking his arm by accident. Or his nose. Which had happened to her. On accident of course, but still, the result had not been pretty. But not to worry, because it looked like Ayame would have a harder time doing any lasting damage to Arson. Unless, of course, she 'broke his heart'. But she didn't want to do that. So why worry? "Better not let Snow hear you say that." She whispered in Arson's ear. "I'm sure he'd hate being second banana to an unclaimed demi-god. Since, you know, he's such a pretty horse." She pulled away and smiled at Arson, the flirty look back in her eyes. "Ooh la la." She sang. "Can't wait to see what my treat will be, but more than an apple sounds good to me."

[[and sorry for not replying to you on the myka post. yeah, we can take them over now if you like.]]"Stop being such a flirt." Arson chided playfully, kissing Ayame's hair again. He could already tell it was going to become a habit of his. Arson could always tell. He looked up curiously when he saw a two little magpies flitting around above the treetops. Arson smiled. "Fortune telling is Ivy's forte, not mine. But I can tell you that your future will have happiness in it." he said, motioning towards the dark feathered birds. 'One for sorrow, two for joy, three for a girl, four for a boy, five for silver, six for gold, and seven for a secret never to be told.' he thought serenly. It had been Ivy who had taught him the little rhyme when she had gone through a huge black magic phase. "Don't worry. I'm sturdy. Pretty hard to break. Ask Myka or Ivy. They've tried." he said, a warm lilt to his voice as he spoke of his sister and the girl who might as wel have been. But Arson had to admit, he quite liked the warm feel of Ayae's breath on the shell of his ear, as if she were telling him such a dirty little secret. "Didn't I just tell you to not be such a flirt." 'It turns me on., but the last half of Arson's sentence didn't make it's way out of his mouth for fear of sounding like a total douche when they only had been 'together' for what, twenty minutes?

(To the Mess Hall!)
"I can't help being what I am." Ayame purred, smoothly her sleek hair with a hand, her fingers lingering only for a second on the place that Arson had kissed. Obviously, this was going to be a habit of his, but Ayame didn't really mind. "Hmmm, maybe I should get Ivy to read my palm then or something. Though knowing Ivy, and I'm not saying I do, but from what I gathered after spending five minutes around her, she'd probably lie to me, and tell me what I was going to die today, or something like that." She narrowed her eyes slightly, and looked up at the magpies. Magpies had never really been her favourite bird. Actually, now that she thought about it, Ayame was pretty sure she didn't have a favourite bird. Up until recently, the only birds she had seen had been city birds; skinny, ragged and dirty. "Happiness. That's something I haven't hard in a long, long time. Who knows though? Maybe the future really will be better." Ayame shrugged, and then hid a smile with her free hand, trying not to laugh at Arson's comment about being hard to break. "Wait a minute, Ivy's your younger sister, right?" She raised a blond brow. "I thought it was the duty of the older sibling to keep the young siblings in line." Ayame pursed her lips slightly at the comment about Myka. Right now, Ayame wasn't really sure how she felt about the older red-head. She wasn't jealous...or was she? After all, Sho had never shown an interest in girls before. Ayame wasn't used to being second banana. Plus, Myka was just everything Ayame wanted to be...and couldn't unless she was going through one of her 'loud and b*tchy' mood swings. "Or maybe I'm just not supposed to like Myka." Ayame thought with a bitter sarcasm. "After all, I'm water and she's fire. Or something like that." Ayame resisted the temptation to snort. A smirk slowly unfurled across Ayame's face, banishing all bitter thoughts towards Myka. "And I just told you, I can't help being what I am. Besides, being around you seems to bring out my flirty side. Can't imagine why that would be." Ayame blinked at Arson innocently, trying to look as demure as possible. "After all, I'm only a girl." The fake expression fell from Ayame's face as her stomach growled. "Okay, a very hungry girl. Race you to the mess hall!" Releasing Arson's hand, Ayame took off in the direction of the mess hall, her long legs a blur.

Arson smirked. "Then I suppose that'll be another thing I'll be getting used to." he replied. The black haired boy listened intently to Ayame, a thoughtful look on his face. On the contrary, magpies and nightengales had always been Arson's favorite birds. Since he was a child, since they first started to follow himself and Ivy all around Seattle. "Well, if you weren't joking around, Ivy would give you a real good reading. Most of the time, the futures she tell end up coming true. But then again, the future is relative and can always change." Arson replied. And once he thought about it, whenever Ivy predicted something, it normally came true. That was one of the few ways the wandering siblings made money before they finally made their way to the camp. At her question, Arson nodded, a smile on his face. "Yeah, but Ivy's always been a little ... interesting. She's kind of hard to control, and whenever you try, it's like she's slipping through your fingers. Hard to understand, hard to forget...Sort of like you." Arson said affectionately. "And that is another thing I can accept." he added. When she released his hand, Arson frowned for half a second before he started off. His legs were sharp as they hit the ground with purpose, following in strong suit after Ayame.
