Lauren wandered down the shoreline, drawing her coat closer to guard against the brisk wind. She wished she were somewhere halfway around the world right now. Sighing, she thought back to her life before she moved to north america. It had been simpler, with no monsters. Still, she like life at camp okay. She paused, waiting for Susan to catch up.

Susan jogged down after Lauren, tossing her flip-flops and coat on the grass. The sand felt nice under bare feet... She stretched out and yawned. She looked at Lauren quizzically, feeling her wistfulness. Just because she could feel others emotions, didn't mean she knew why they were feeling it. Most of the time, after being after someone enough, she figured them out. But not with Lauren. Susan never understood her. "Something bothering you?"

Glancing at her friend, Lauren answered, "just wishing.... things could be simpler. No monsters, No gods... just a normal life. But then i wouldnt have met you," she smiled at her. "So it has its pros and cons, this life. What about you? Do you wish things were different?"

Susan put her hands in her pocket and grit her teeth. "Life isn't simple either way. I mean, sure, you might worry about different stuff. We worry about monsters, gods, and fighting and they..well..they worry about school, homework and guys." She sighed. "Either way both lives wish for a simpler life. So I guess i don't mind being a demi-god."

Lauren utttered a non-commital grunt. She didn't have a solid opinion on this. "Hey Susan," she called to her friend, suddenly longing for something to do, "you wanna go do some battle training?" She wasn't sure, as she knew Susan disliked fighting.

"Um...kay.." she said, slipping her flip-flops back on. She didn't really like fighting, but she guessed it might make Lauren forget all about her frustrations after. She grabbed her coat that was now wet from lying on the dewy grass and shivered a bit putting it on and headed for the training grounds.."
