Chapter One

I am not certain how I landed in here…I just remember walking down a street in the middle of the night. When the cops found me and threw me in here... I was found guilty of something I do not remember doing. They would not tell me anything…Not my name…Not who my family Is, nothing. How could I be found guilty of a crime I am not sure I even did. But after a while one of the guards came to my cell…He told me that the clan I was in called me Linda…It did not make sense, they called me?...But does that mean not even they know?…Who am I?…What am I?…Linda…? If so, why cannot seem to know why…When…Is it a good thing I forgot…am I better off this way?

Linda; or so that is what she called herself now sat on one of the beds in the small cell looking at her hands. Something about her hands got to her, all the small cuts on her fingers and well everything about them. Though they did not seem rough, they were smooth even with all those scares there. She looked up from them for a small second to look at her cellmate who was lying down on the other bed. Linda was what they all called her now though not many had a thing to say to her. It was much betters then no name but still. Linda looked at her hands again and they slowly got blurry, as tears ran from her eyes and onto her small palms on both her hands. She quickly whipped the tears from her eyes before even her cellmate could see them. In places like this, there is no room to cry you feel on display. About five cells a crossed could see her not only that but all the guards. She stood up slowly her body swaying a bit from not eating, as she made her way to the bars, and looked out. She seen there was a guard by every door, two at her own cell. The next floor since there was only two floors with no ceiling in between; just stairs at either end to get up and down, was the same a guard by every door.

Her cellmate sat up and looked at her. “They increased guards when they captured you,” her cellmate told as if she did not already know this, for a guard had already said that, but still she was unsure why. She did not turn and look at him just kept her hands tight around the cold steel bars as she looked at. The guards in front of her are talking away not even listening to what they were saying. As if too much was, her cellmate usually said nothing to her. In fact, with her record or so they had said she should not even have a cellmate. She should be in a locked tight room with no bars or windows and never allowed to leave, but that was a while ago she had heard that and sometimes she believed that would be better, for her head was empty and she was not sure what to believe and having all these people are was not helping her.

“Why? I mean I am not going to run away,” Linda started whispering and then got louder. She then looked around at all the people who seemed to all be starring at her. She loosened her grip on the bars and looked at her cellmate. Linda’s eyes went from him to floor. “I mean I could never kill anyone,” Linda whispered. She bit her lip as closed her eyes as she tried to hold more tears, to her it felt like the only thing she could do. She could not see her cellmate and the smirk on his face as though he enjoyed her pain.

“You could not? Well you used to be able too. I mean you were clan X secret weapon” He stopped make an almost evil laughed, but it was small and hardly noticeable, though Linda noticed it. “You knew how to handle a sword. I mean you could even block bullets with just a sword, though I bet a lot of people could… maybe you weren’t anything special after all” He laughed again, this laugh was not really evil, but still his laugh was odd though so was he. “Only a skilled fighter who's been in many batters would have all thoughts scared on your hands that you seem so interested in”, her cell-mate gave an evil grin his eyes almost glowing, it was odd.

Linda quickly looks her hands off the bars. She took a second to look at them and then let them drop her sides and just hang there as if they were numb and unable to move. “I could never have. That was not me. It could not have been” Linda yelled. She then slowly lifted her fingers and made fists, but her arms never moved. She stopped biting her lip as she opened her eyes and looked around. Her eyes were to blurry to see who was looking, but she was sure everyone wanted to see what was happening. There was not a lot of time these prisoners could see a clan X member lost her mind right in front of them.

“Calm down.” He said as if he actually cared. Maybe he just did not want a lot of attention since he was looking all around. “You will never know unless you get out of here. I mean you are in here for life. You’re lucky they’re not going to kill you” The cellmate spoke, now in a whispered as if he did not want others to hear. He seemed to be thinking, something he hardly done, or acted as if he had done. Perhaps he had a plan by the way he was acting he seemed to have something up his sleeve.

“Well how do I get out of here?” Linda asked. She now looked up at him interested in what he was saying. Though most likely talking out his a** and had nothing up his sleeve at all just playing her, it would not be the first time. How easy she hoped and easily she was disappointed he seemed to just enjoy yanking her chain, For Linda didn’t know his name as many times as it has been said, none. She did not care to know, for she would never explain his wide eyes so dark it was as if colorless or his hair a bad buzz cut that seemed to stand up always as if thunder had hit him. She hated his smile on his thick lips and wide jaw, for his whole face was the way. He was complete stupid looking, like a mad scientist looking for his next victim, nope she would never explain this to anyone, for the way he looked only proved how crazy he acted sometimes and looks were mere what hid the truth, for him the truth was in and out.

“You don’t, but we could always break out” the clan mate laughed his evil laugh. Linda shook her head, as she looked back out the bars the people still looking. She gave them an evil glare, something she had never done, but she didn’t’ like the attention. Most looked away, they were afraid, but why would anyone be afraid or her, for she was skin and bone and maybe that was just from not eating, but she was small The fact was she was truly thinking of what he had said, she hated it. For they stuck her with a mad man because they believed she was one herself. She is not mad; she is just sad, afraid, and lonely. Her mind lost and her memories erased.

“How” Linda questioned, she was still looking out the bars. The guards were still talking, though nothing important. She noticed the keys for she could probably reach them. She thought of it, it pondered in her mind for some times, but she shocks it away for it was not right. For if she was truly bad she would have at least been able to take a small pare of keys, but no. Something that could not harm anyone and still she could not bring herself to do it. “Such a killer” She told herself as she leaned against the bars, her forehead hitting the cold steel, which felt good, as she thought.

“Well like this” the clan mate yelled as he was truly twisted. He jumped toward Linda as if he was a lion wanted food. Linda did not see him coming for she was still looking out the cell bars, if it was not for the bed squeaking as he jumped off it she would not have even turned to see him coming toward her. Linda was able to put her arms up over his face as he hit her and pushed her backwards, she tried to fight him off, though cold only truly block. She looked surprised by the sudden attack as if she did not even know where she was. She had fallen backwards a bit and almost fell, though caught herself in time. All she had time too was to put her hands in front of her face to block.

“Get off me your insane” Linda yelled as he grabbed her arms and pinned them to one of the cell walls. He did not stop, that was obvious, and he just laughed his eyes seemed to pop out of his head. Linda kicked him off her and ran to the other side of the small room, for she had little space to do anything. He walked toward her swaying a bit, as he looked at her. Linda walked backwards until she felt the cold cell wall; she was afraid, unsure what to do. Could the guards not hear? Could they not see what was happening right before their eyes? She looked up to see, for she was looking at the ground just in time to his fist quickly going toward her. She ducked down and rolled out of the way from him. His fist barely mists her head and hit the wall hard. He stumbled back holding his hand as he yelled in pain. He walked back until he tripped over Linda who was still on the ground.

Linda sat up and rubbed her head, as she head hit it on the gray concrete ground. ”Ouch” She whispered as she turned to see her cellmate. She looked up at him, he who was standing over her, how he got up so up. He grabbed the caller of her shirt and then lifted her to her feet, then pushed her into the wall, not happy at all, his laughed left, and he was serious. Linda was starring into his eyes big black hole that seemed the swallow her whole. She could not look anymore the darkness in them frightened her. She looked down as her beer feet, which dangled there as he held her. She was trying to hold back the tears that were forming in her eyes.

He was still holding on her shirt as he balled up his fist, the same fist that hit that wall. It seemed broken by the way he held it; there were scratches and even blood coming out of the knuckles of it. The guards were just noticing and were not in a big hurry to stop the fight; though they were so distracted, they dropped the keys. Linda looked around for something to help her, but there was nothing; the cell was bear and empty like her tiny feet. The only thing was the beds that are stuck to the ground by large bolts, not like that could her anyway.

“You are…You are insane let me go” Linda screamed. She wriggled trying to get out of his grip, but it was no use. All she could do was get ready for the punch. Closing her eyes and turning her head to the side so he could not break her nose she was not sure what else she could do. She bit her lip, something she did often when she was afraid. She could hear the cops crowding around and the cellmate cheer, for they hated her so much they wanted her to be hit, or was it that it was the most excitement they seen since the fight at lunch

She opened her eyes to see him ready to hit her, for he was taking his sweet time. She screamed and a guard finally unlocked the ceil door and opened it. Linda’s cellmate pushed Linda onto the ground, as if it was his plain all along, he turned to face the cop. Then hit the guard in the head, well still turning. The guard went backwards a bit as Linda’s cellmate took this opportunity to reach for the guard's gun. He grabbed the gun with little trouble and then pulled back. Linda was on the ground afraid to get up, her back against the wall as she watched. She saw the guard look her cellmate straight in his eyes. She seen all the terror on his face and then heard the gun shot when her cellmate pulled the trigger. The guard was shot in the chest and then fell down. Could I have been just as evil as he is?

The guard’s blood covered the floor, he did not make any sounds or movements, for all she knew he was dead and now she was in the room with the one who done it. Linda quickly stood up; she did not know what to do. She did not know if she should run or stay, no she couldn't run she was shacking and was afraid to even move, afraid to even breath she didn't know what would sat him off to shot her. She was afraid. Afraid to do anything even blink. She was locked up in this cell with a mad man and she had no clue until now. For the other guards finally out of shock as they grabbed their guns as if to shot him.

Her cellmate reached down into the guards pockets and grabbed out two pairs of keys and some smoke bombs. He also grabbed out some regular bombs, the guards just watched him, why would not they just shot. He threw the bombs and one of the pairs of keys at Linda who let them hit the ground and slid toward her. She waited tell they slid toward her and hit her feet slowly she picked them up and looked at them for the longest time. She had little idea what he was not her to do, for her as much as they believe was not a killer, she could not have been. She shocks her head” What I’m I supposed to do?” She asked her voice shaky with fear. She did not need an answer for she was somewhat sure, but still she felt safer to ask then to be shot for not doing what was asked.

“You can use the smoke bombs to knock the guards out and the keys to open the cells on the top floor,” her cellmate says calmly as though they were now working together. He held the gun out to the guards as they did the same; Linda wished they would just shot for he needed to be killed. Could they not tell from the glow in his dark eyes that this was what he looked for? The again though he eyes dark, they were saddened they couldn’t even tell that she herself didn’t want to fight, that see seemed innocent as any other who was wrongly accused of a crime.

“And you” Linda asked wandering if he would make her the distraction. So that they would, all chase her since she is supposedly the secret weapon of X and he would have a chance to escape, for they kept her alive because X is looking for her and yet she does not want them to help her. She sat there holding the keys and the bombs she never wanted to kill. She found herself looking up at him. His back facing her as he held a gun to the cops ready to shot anyone who moved for he wasn’t afraid to take what’s not his to take.

“I’ll kill the guards on this floor with this gun of course. I will also set the people on this floor free” His voice still calm. She just shocks her head not watching to fight. He did not notice this for her was yelling for the guards to back away, but Linda was too lost in thought to hear his exact words. She could see the feet move away from the cell. For she was looking down and feet were all she could see. Why wouldn’t they just shot, then again she had a perfect opportunity to hit him from behind, but she could not hurt him… let alone kill since it seems that’s all that would stop him.

“Ok” Linda said sadly, as much as she wanted to disagree she could not due to the shinny gun he held in his hands. She did not want it pointed at her. She was thinking of all the guards who he would not even care if he kills, but she was too afraid to stop him. For stopping, he would be putting herself at risk and most likely ending unlike the guard on the ground. She did not care if she did used to fight. She was not going to anymore, for she even wanted to throw down the smoke bombs she was given, but knew they would not actually hurt the people unlike the real bombs and the gun.

A guard ran to the cell and went to shut the cell door, why the guard acted alone well the others were still backing up. Linda lifted her head to see this, for all she was able to see were the footsteps running toward the door, Now she looked up at the guard her cellmate or course seen him right away. Linda’s cellmate kicked the door open, after the guard had already closed it; witch was still unlocked though the guard was about to lock it the guard was pushed down by the door, for apparently they all sucked at their job. Linda's cellmate started shooting and Linda stood up in the cell. Linda’s cellmate shot the guards, but Linda was stuck just watching as it all unfolded in front of her. A small smile appeared on his face almost as if he was laughing. Should she really free people like him. “Is it fun to kill” She though as she stood there.

Her cellmate grabbed her arm and pulled her out of the cell. “Stop being brainless and go to the second floor and let thoughts criminals free.” He yelled at her. Linda just looked up at him. She was not sure what to do, maybe she was brainless, and it was just empty. Filled with air and that was it. For all she knew if what everyone told her and the fact was she believed everything. She was not sure what to do. She was shacking he finally let go of her arms as she got tired of waiting for her to answer, For it was a perfect opportunity for them to shot, but they did not.

“And if I refuse” Linda finally got to courage to speak. Her cellmate did not answer he just smiled and waved the gun around, that was enough of an answer for her. Linda sighed as she started out of the cell, her cellmate behind her holding the gun at all who pointed one at him and Linda. He started shooting though none of them seemed to be shooting back. What was wrong with these people for they did not even fight back? Not until Linda was out of the way cell did they finally start. They stood there shooting at her Cellmate but none seemed to be able to aim very well.

Five guards who were guarding the stairs stopped Linda as she went to run up them. Linda then started running again when she noticed a small space in between two of the guards. She ran and was able to slide quickly through the small space that the guards gave her. She was able to run half way up the steps, tripping because of a guard grabbing at her feet. They slowly pulled her down the hard pavement stairs. She tried to use her hands to stop herself from sliding; it was all she could do to hold on to the keys at the bombs. All she did was make her hands bleed because of them scrapes against the steps. She had no shoes, so her feet scraped against the ruff texture of the stairs just like her hands. She kicked her feet trying to knock the guards that were holding her fee, though this was not working very well.

She finally got free and threw a smoke bomb at the guards. It went off covering most of the area and many people fainted, but no tall. Linda felt bad about it but she did not know what else to do, for they would have kept coming for it, besides they would most likely awaken soon enough. Linda noticed all the guards went down stairs to get the people escaping from their cells this meant she would have an easy time opening the cells and letting the others go. She quickly went cell to cell letting all the people go. They all seemed to be laughing as she grabs up guards guns. There was no room to move into the small hall, but that did not stop then, for they were happy to be free. They did not just shot the guards, no some shot each other’s well others just careless seemed to be shooting at anything that moved.

Linda watched as smoke covered the place. “Heartless…cold-blooded…merciless… cruel…Witch word would describe this people, No not People, their monsters, all-insane. Could I have been this cold myself…Heartless…how…Why” Linda thought. She stood there over a then bars railing watching hear for she found even herself coughing from the rising smoke. For her own smoke bomb, not someone else happened to be lighting them off. Her thoughts soon interrupted by an outraged criminal still I its cage for it wanted out. She gave this man evil eye as she slowly went to unlock this cell. For her she might not have been shacking, but her hands were still, the man had little patience for her trouble to find the right key. AS she finally found it slammed the door the same way, her cellmate did to that guard.

The people ran toward the stairs and ended up blocked by guards, who were finally making their way up the steps. The guards shoved the people back in the cells as the made there way toward Linda. Linda stood on the second floor trapped the guards were slowly closing in on both sides. There was no were to run. She threw one of the smoke bombs and quickly ran past a few and down the steps, she wasn’t sure how she had found away to go past them for she couldn’t see, but even though the coughing and burning eyes she had found the stairs. She tripped on her own two feet and slid down the steps though she hardly noticed this, for she landing on her back her head hurt from hitting the stairs, but she didn’t’ feel much of it. She quickly got up and ran, for where did she ran was unknown, she knew she had to leave thought was unsure were to go. She could not see where she was going but she did not care. The smoke was rising slowly, but no one stopped there pointless fighting. They kept fighting in the ghost of the mist not caring who was shot. Everything being a bur, her eyes still hurt and watered. She felt like she was going to faint like a lot of others, but something kept her going. She found the large door that lead out and she ran down another pair of steps and found herself in the sewer.

She ran through the water, it hurt her leg, most likely, because of the cuts, she had on them, but then again that was not what she cared about now. She found herself trapped a bunch of bars in front of her. It was too dark to see, though she had run into them. When she turned to head back guards were already running after her with flashlights on so they could see. She quickly pulled out a bomb and threw it at the bars, for once she was glad he had handed her both of them. The bomb exploded and Linda along with a bunch of water went flying backwards, for she was much to close. Linda hurt all over from all the falls she had been taking, but she was not going to give in. She was cut and she was bruised sure some on the metal ha cut her as it flow off. Somehow, she got up and quickly ran through the hole she blows in the bars, even though she was in as much pain as she was. Linda had gotten away, the guards decided not to go after her. They knew without her knowing anything it was better, not to waste time with her and stop the others.

You have a bunch of spelling mistakes and grammatical errors, but some thorough editing would do a lot of good. When I write a story, I quickly type up my ideas, then go over it and fix as many errors that I can notice. So if you haven't already, you should.

The story itself seems interesting, and it was a good first chapter. I like the monologue in the beginning to introduce the story.

Hehe Yeah I think they will help. I always loved doing creative writing for school work. I wrote a really depressing story once though and my teacher asked me if there was something wrong going on in my life. Stories don't have to be related be the author's life!
