The idea of just checking out everything with Song Tzue sounded like the best idea in his mind, he wanted to see lots of things really, and Jing Lin didn't often wish to do so for reasons unknown. This exploring with a friend thing was a new and exciting experience that he seemed to be trying to soak up every drop of from the look on his face. His eyes were wide and unblinking, his expression was one of curiousity, and his mount was parted slightly as he kept spotting interesting new things that he wanted to get a closer look at.

"Huh? Hungry? Maybe a little bit, yes." He agreed, while he could go for something to eat a part of him didn't want to stop their walking else they might miss something. At the same time if Meilin were hungry it was likely best that they go and get her something to eat. After all if the woman got to hungry she might want to go home to get something, taking Song Tzue with her.

“If we eat first we won't have to worry about it later and we'll have more time to explore. Besides, we can pick things we've never eaten before and it can be a different sort of adventure.” Song Tzue smiled and brought them both to a halt, not relinquishing her hold on Bai Mai as she looked around at her mother. “We're ready to go eat now.” She waited, watching MeiLin expectantly.

MeiLin nodded, stepping closer to Song Tzue to fix the lotus' green hair. “Alright. Come on then; I know just the place.” With a little smile she took the lead, taking them down a few more streets and away from the busy market. It was only a minute or two before they were standing outside a little noddle shop. MeiLin ushered Jing Lin and the children towards a table by the window where they could watch the people pass by as they ate.

“I hope this is alright.” She asked, standing by to let everyone else sit first.

Song Tzue offered one of the seats closest to the window to her new friend, ready to plop down and claim the one beside him as hers. “This is fine."

Bai Mei thought on what Song Tzue was saying before he gave a smile and a nod, "That sounds good to me." He said, seeming to the sort that would happy follow a stronger personality and Song Tzue seemed to be just that. The way that she came up with good plans, told them what they needed to do, and then put the plans into motion. He was more then a little in awe of her.

When MeiLin seemed to agree with the idea they were soon on their way. Bai Mei looked back over his shoulder a few times to watch his Father, to make sure that the man was alright as he knew of his dislike of crowds... and people in general. From the look on his face Jing Lin appeared a little tense but not to bad. He would be alright Bai Mei thought with a bit of a smile touching his lips.

Bai Mei settled down into the seat that Song Tzue offered to him, drawing his feet close to the base of the chair before he gave a smile at her, "This place smells really nice." He murmured.

Jing Lin gave a nod of agreement, looking around for a few moments before he settled down in a seat himself. This place was placed far enough out that he felt comfortable enough here. He was sure that he could enjoy himself here or at the very least allow his guard to drop just a little bit.

There were only a couple of other people in the little noddle shop. Most of the townspeople were still busy at the market. For MeiLin, the atmosphere was a pleasant one. There’s was nothing nicer than being able to sit down for some food with some new friends. It was a shame Ce had run off so early, but then, he would have made lunch rather more animated by fighting with Song Tzue again so it was probably for the best.

Song Tzue settled herself down beside Bai Mei and grinned. She folded her hands together on the table, gaze sweeping around the shop. She sniffed, taking in the scents of the cooking and inspected as best she could what the other people were currently eating. Her stomach gave a little grumble; reminding her that she hadn’t eaten that much at breakfast.

“It smells nice, huh?” Song Tzue smiled at Bai Mei, unlocking her fingers in order to tuck a stray bit of hair behind the boy’s ear. It felt like she had known him forever, even though it had hardly even been an hour. No matter, her job was clear: she would take care of him. That much was certain.

A young woman came over, putting a teapot and four cups on the table; pouring the murky liquid out for each of them. “Would you like to order?”

Song Tzue certainly was. “I’ll have the chicken lo mein.” She glanced towards Bai Mei as Mei Lin ordered hers. “What are you going to have? It all looks nice.” She probably would have ordered for him, but she held herself back. After all, there might be something he didn’t like eating.

Bai Mei looked up at his friend as she ordered before he seemed to appear thoughtful, what did he want? He tilted his head to one side in a thoughtful manner as he considered it, then looked over at his Father, "What are you getting?"

"Just rice and tea." He said, not wanting to get anything to heavy since he would be going back to work when he got home.

The white haired lotus boy gave a slow, thoughtful no. He then glanced over at Song Tzue once more. What she was getting sounded far more interesting then what his father was getting. He scanned over the what was to be had, "I would like... some chicken and vegetables." He said after what seemed like a very long time in deciding compared to everyone else.

Jing Lin smiled as his son when he finally decided upon what he wanted. He reached out carefully pick up his cup and sipped from it, a motion that Bai Mei mimicked though he sniffed at the tea before drinking it, "This is good." He decided, giving a bright smile.

“That sounds yummy.” Song Tzue commented on Bai Mei’s choice of meal once the girl had left to put in their order. They were both having chicken now; so she’d have to taste his dish too to test the different flavours. She watched Jing Lin and Bai Mei both reach for their tea. MeiLin was already sipping from her cup; the young woman had pulled her long sleeves back and was sitting up perfectly, a picture of decorum.

Song Tzue watched her for a moment, curling her fingers around the cup of tea and dragging it closer. She tapped her nails against it for a moment, pondering over her guardian’s desire to constantly keep up the polite and correct behaviour. It seemed silly sometimes. MeiLin was still trying to teach her to be a lady, but Song Tzue didn’t have the patience for such nonsense.

“Where do you live?” Song Tzue asked suddenly; her train of thought snapping back to Bai Mei. They were friends so they needed to know all these details. In case she wanted to come visit him one day.

"You can try some of mine if you like." He offered his friend when she said that what he was getting sounded yummy. For a moment he turned to watch the way that MeiLin was drinking her tea, finding the way that the lady drank her tea made it seem almost as though he were some sort of amazing show unfolding before them. He blinked a couple times when Song Tzue spoke to him and his attention turned back to her, "We live toward the middle of town, a pretty house that is surrounded on all sides by a fence." He told her, thinking about it for a moment before smiling, "Its a bit of a mess inside but its full of my Father's work." Because of that simple fact he was quite happy with where he lived.

"What about you, Song Tzue? What is your house like?" He asked curiously, the way that MeiLin acted made him wonder if she were a lady of some sort, it might affect where they lived if she was he thought to himself before he lifted his cup up so that he could take a sip of his tea.

“I’d love that.” Song Tzue was glad to be sharing food with her friend. She took another sip of her tea and listened to him explain his house. It sounded mostly like hers, except perhaps the messy part. Their house had always been spotless, thanks to the servants.

However size had not been mentioned, and as MeiLin listened in as well she hoped Song Tzue wouldn’t go into too much detail about it. Some people, she knew, had ideas of dividing people based on how much wealth they had. Her father was one of those people, but to the young woman, it had never made sense.

“We have a nice house; it’s surrounded by a stone wall. It has a few gardens and a lot of rooms. I dunno, about twenty or so. My home is boring; it would be good to see it messed up sometimes.” Song Tzue smiled. “I’d like to see your house. So I’ll come and visit one day.”

The food began to arrive and Song Tzue took charge carefully put some of her food on a corner of Bai Mai’s plate and moving some of his onto hers. “So we can try each others.” She explained; ignoring the look MeiLin had given her at the lack of manners. Then she popped back down in her seat and set to work enjoying her meal.

Bai Mei gave a giggle as he was told how her house was and how she thought it would be good to see it get messed up, "It sounds like an interesting place, I bet it would be perfect for hide and seek." He said, then looked quite excited when she mentioned wanting to come visit his home one day, "I would like that, I could show you my room and all the pretty things my Father has made!" he said, sounding more then a little excited about the idea.

When the food arrived and after they had traded foods he dug into the delicious foods that they were served up, "The food here is so delicious! We will certainly have to come here again." He told his friend, looking over at her between bites, then turned back to his food again and continued to eat barely bothering to chew as he ate, all but purring over eat bite. Nothing better then food that was made this good. He found himself thinking that he most certainly had to make food as good as this one day. That way he and his father would be free of having to eat his father's iffy cooking all the time.

Hide and seek? Wow, that did sound like fun. Song Tzue grinned, imagining chasing Bai Mei through the many rooms of her home. “I think it would be too.” Yes, that would have to happen. She could show him the garden and they could climb her favourite tree. Then they would go to Bai Mei’s house and look through all the interesting things they must have. “I’d like to do that; you’re father makes really nice items.” She reached up to touch the necklace she had bought from them earlier.

The food really was delicious and Song Tzue got into it in an extremely unladylike fashion. “Mm iumh uil.” She replied incomprehensibly to Bai Mei, though by her tone it was clear she was agreeing with his sentiment of returning here one day.

MeiLin watched them both and smiled. She was glad they had all met today and from the looks of it, this friendship would hold steady for many years to come. Picking up her chopsticks she slowly began to eat her own food, cheeks flushed with happiness for her daughter.
