Im reading about proverbs for school tomorrow. Does anyone know any interesting ones? Like "Great oaks from little acorns grow", or"A leopard conceals his spots." Also you could just post your favorite proverb. I think mine is "A friend in need is a friend indeed" or "dead as a doornail."

Why buy a cow when you could get the milk for free?

Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.
Never look a gift horse in the mouth.
A penny saved is a penny earned.

I have a few Japanese ones for those interested. They are all about speech. "One should keep both jars and mouth tightly shut" "Many words, little refinement" "The mouth is an ax which wounds a man" "When you curse a man [you dig] two graves" "People who praise things don't buy them."
And my favorite: "honey in his mouth, a sword in his belly" xd
