: razz URELY OOC RULES:: Thread Heading Guide [*Meta Name*] - Journal. The name is who's journal it is.
[SRP] - Special or specific roleplay. As in, a certain location or scenario.
[PRP] - Private roleplay. Please don't disturb unless invited.
[RP] - Just your average RP thread, anyone can join.
[OOC] - Out of character conversation.
[ARTS]- (Mods Only) A section for the different artists of the academy to post their details/samples/prices and more.
[INFO] - (Mods Only) They will be informative threads containing Meta info, owner's list, customs info, etc.
[ATTN] - (Mods Only) Many times these will be announcements on upcoming events, event signups, etc.
[DISC] - (Mods Only)Temporary discussion threads to get ideas for upcoming events, etc.
[MISC] - (Mods Only) They may be for fanart, fanfiction, etc.
[QUEST] - Questing for a certain Meta or concept? Head on over to the Quest subforum and check out the rules and examples. Quests will remain in the subforum, untouched, unless it's been a ridiculous amount of time without any effort being made toward the quest, or until they are completed. (Completed quests go to archives, abandoned/neglected ones are deleted.)

::RULES REGARDING META RPING:: General Guidelines
arrow You will need a guardian character for the initial receiving of your child/choosing of your item. Whether you continue to use that character or not is up to you, be we are looking into guardian focused events in the future, so don't throw away your character completely.
arrow Journals are maintained by your child and are key to their growth. If we don't see you making an effort to be active; ie, roleplaying and updating your journal, then we will take our sweet time getting to your growings.
arrow Each guardian sets the individual rules about who is allowed to post for his or her journal. READ THEM. Don't see their rules anywhere? You might want to pm.
arrow Have an idea for another RP location/concept? Suggest away! If you intend it to be a permanent thread (instead of say just for an event) I'd prefer if MetaAcademy started the thread. PM the current shop owner to discuss the set-up.
arrow Do you want a private RP? Feel free to begin that one yourself - just remember the "PRP" in the subject to avoid confusion.
arrow Staff members are god, please listen to them. If there is any kind of conflict in what the staff is saying, the current shop owner will have ultimate rule. But don't worry, the mods are nice.Growth Rules
Mandatory Meta activity to to grow to next stage:
-May gain levels right before growing.
-Must roleplay in classroom events to gain levels.
-Powers must be related to item. (Ex. Those without a healing-type item cannot have healing.)
-"Fly" counts as a passive ability. If it's not written as an ability, the Meta cannot fly. Passive means that it doesn't take up a power slot.
-The requirements for Elder are overly extensive, one that should be known is that a Meta cannot reach Elder stage before showing maturity and showing responsibility for one's abilities.
-Participating in Academy events are highly recommended as certain activities might occur and acting or reacting in the right way may offer special benefits.
-Weapons will not be allowed on campus. Using weapons on Academy Grounds, out of Ability Control Class, will be sent to detention. (If the meta has a weapon, they will need to hide it or keep it concealed and if discovered with the weapon, detention is the consequence.)
-Fighting is also not allowed on campus grounds. Any physical or magical confrontation of any violent sort will be punished by detention if found out about.
Breeding Details
The way Metas breed is, when the time is right, they come together to perform a sacred ritual of the gods wherein they each bring a small lock of their own hair and a candle to the golden alter. Both Metas pour the wax of two candles, each color picked by the Meta holding it. The fusion of both the locks of hair and wax creates a bright light that, when it subsides, an egg appears which 2-4 children might reside in, you won't know until it hatches. The egg then is watched after and cared for, for a month, until it splits into four equal parts and peels open like a flower. The children will then emerge from the newly hatched eggs. (The Metas will need items, they will resemble their parents as well as whatever item they were bound to.)
An RP response is needed as the Metas must RP what color candles they fuse together and what they do after the egg is present and when it hatches.

::JOURNAL REQUIREMENTS:: General Student Journal Rules All students must have a journal. Journals are written by the Metas as they grow, and are key to the growth requirements of the shop.
Journals should be updated regularly to ensure maximum growth for your child as well as a record to the past of your child so that you don't need to go sifting through threads to find information.
All journals are made by each of the owners but MUST have the child's name within square brackets at the beginning of the title.
Ex: [Santheas] -Dark Wings- A Diary of a Demon
The first post of each journal shall contain a) The Cert, and b) A description of the child's journal that they write in.
The first page of the journal must also be filled out and all posts reserved so that you can add fun stuff later. If you need any help, just look through the other journals in this section for inspiration, and anything else you have a question on, just ask.
Side Note: If you need any help coming up with powers for your meta, I suggest looking at this website. It has a huge list of random (and typical) super powers. You can use this as inspiration or even take a few abilities from here. Limitation For Magic Powers
Toddler- 3 abilities/1 resistance
no higher than level 1
Child- 4 abilities/ 1 resistance
no higher than level 3
Teen- 5 abilities/ 2 resistances
no higher than level 5
Adult- 7 abilities/ 3 resistances
no higher than level 7
Elder- 9 abilities/ 4 resistances
no higher than level 10
Breakdown of Growth Requirements
Toddler→ Child:: The Meta must have been a toddler for 1 month
■ Journal Set-up Complete>> because different people have different ideas as to what constitutes a journal, the way this will be determined is that if it looks relatively done, it will be deemed done. But if there's huge chunks missing, then we might consider your journal to be 'unfinished'. Basics should be done, having some reserved posts is okay.
■ 2 Journal Entries>> There are two (2) diary-type entries for this stage.
■ 5 RP Play-dates>> Defined Below
Child→ Teen:: The Meta must have been a child for 2 months
■ 5 Journal Entries>> There are five (5) diary-type entries for this stage.
■ 10 RP Play-dates>> Defined Below
Teen→ Adult:: The Meta must have been a teen for 3 months
■ 12 Journal Entries>> There are twelve (12) diary-type entries for this stage.
■ 20 RP Play-dates>> Defined Below
Adult→ Elder:: The Meta must have been an adult for 6 months
■ 25 Journal Entries>> There are twenty-five (25) diary-type entries for this stage.
■ 35 RP Play-dates>> Defined Below
Elder→ Mystery 6th Stage:: The Meta must have been an elder for 1 year
■ 50 Journal Entries>> There are fifty (50) diary-type entries for this stage.
■ 75 RP Play-dates>> Defined Below
For every stage, two (2) first person diary entries are required, along with one (1) roleplay. A roleplay MUST be done with at least one other person, unless you have special permission from one of the RP managers or the shop owner to count a roleplay entry in you child's journal as a roleplay..
*RP Play-date: There are three options to fulfill one RP play-date. They are as follows:
1. RPing with someone else. It can be in groups, it can be with one person. As long as you RP at least 6 posts, it counts. It is per thread per time IC, (thread rule does not include MA_Official run permanent threads). For example, if you are RPing with someone else in the Sparkling Lake thread, and it last seven days IRL, but IC it is one day, it counts as one RP no matter how many times you post. (Ex: Like, if there's 11 posts in total, 6 by person A and 5 by person B. That would meant that person A gets a point for the RP playdate, and person B will need to post one more time before getting the credit too.)
2. RPing in your journal counts as a play-date. It has to be a sizable entry and should contribute towards your metas growth in personality or abilities. Interaction between your Meta and family members can be counted in journal entries as play-dates. (Diary-type entries do not count here.)
3. Participate in an event. The event itself will define what is required in order to get credit.
Rules About Powers When thinking of powers for your meta, you must consider that it make sense with the item you gave your meta. You cannot have a meta with a cat ear item shooting lighting out of its butt. That just doesn't make any sense. So, please think hard on where you want your item to take you since your powers will be based on your item.
For example; Here is Nova.
Her item is a "Vial of Pixie Dust". This means that she could have powers that pertained to the following:
Glitter Bomb: Can explode into a big cloud of glitter and reform after the glitter settles. (Can be set off accidentally by sneezing.)
Shining Aura: Can glow brightly to temporarily blind people.
Shape-Shift: Can change her body size to become as tall as a pencil.
And so on...
This also means she cannot have any powers that do not relate to her powers. Such as fire, metal, farting nuclear bombs, etc.
Resistances can and are usually also based off of the meta's item. For example; Nova can resist magic that involves something as small as persuasion magic or as big as resisting dimensional rifts. (Because those kind of go with fairies/pixies, i think) But she cannot resist things that cause deafness, electricity, fire, memory loss, etc.
And last thing, is that you may put all of your future powers in your list of powers (there does not have to visibly the amount required or restricted, but can be as many as you want. (Up to 10, i think) Just make sure that the only powers with levels are level 1 and above. If your meta does not have the power yet, please mark is as "Level 0".
Example; Nova's powers
