Okay, so post 5x14, I'm pretty sure the entire fandom wanted to crawl into a hole and just sob for six weeks.
Either that or we all wanted to go to Dean and offer him pie and sticky tape his heart back together.
Anyways, over the past couple of days, I've been reading a couple of fic which have slotted onto the end of the episode.
They've ranged from terribly smutty Dean/Cas - I'll spare you, to simply Dean and Cas talking it out.
But none of them has been so hard hitting and utterly perfect as this one.
It's very slight Dean/Cas but can easily be read as gen should you so desire.
A Reason To Go On.
NGL, this is totally head canon for me now.
