My real name's Flip. My favorite genres are high fantasy, sci-fi, and mysteries, though I'll probably take a gander at anything that involves gods from other cultures-- Greek, Sumerian, Aztec, and Indian, in particular. My favorite story is probably the Mahabharata at the moment, perhaps tying with Neil Gaiman's The Sandman, Bill Willingham's Fables, radio dramas from ZBS media, Wapsi Square, Girl Genius, and the story of Inanna and the 7 gates of the Underworld, from Sumerian folklore. ... That's a bit longer of a list than I would have liked, but I love them all very much and enjoy reading and listening to them.
The writers who have had the most impact on me? Well, other cultures' myths have had a large influence on me, as you can see above. Tamora Pierce influenced my writing from a young age, although I am not as big of a fan as I was back then. Terry Pratchett is one of my favorite authors, as are Arthur Conan Doyle and Oscar Wilde. Robert A. Heinlein and Harlan Ellison are others who influenced me from a young age. I also fully enjoy picking apart the Harry Potter series for references to mythology, and firmly believe that it's a veiled story about the Holy Grail.
I haven't written for a long time very seriously, so I don't have anything up on the internet currently- otherwise, I would put up some links to stories I've written.
One of my favorite quotes is from Jack Kerouac: "The only people for me are the mad ones, the ones mad to live, mad to talk, mad to be saved, desirous of everything at the same time, the ones who never yawn or say a commonplace thing but burn, burn, burn like fabulous roman candles exploding like spiders across the stars and in the middle you see the blue centerlight... pop and everybody goes 'Aww!'" I rarely find quotes that I like, but that one stands out to me. Another one that I like is by Dag Hammarskjold, a Swedish diplomat: "Pray that your loneliness may spur you into finding something to live for, great enough to die for."

A bio? I'm honestly not that interesting. I'm an 18-year-old gender-neutral pansexual. There are days that I pass as male and days I pass as female. Beyond that, I live in California, do a bit of art on the side and spend my days working in a coffeehouse. (Thus, I always smell like coffee. Not the worst smell, really.)
