The rolling hills that form the shapes of cumulus clouds mark the border between the Country of Fire and the Country of Lightning. The hills are lightly battle-scarred from old wars.

Instead of going the shorter way to Amegakure, Ronmaru took a detour through the lightning border, remaining in Kaminari no Kuni only long enough to dismay any trackers that may be after him by moving top speed across the hills. The wise move would've been just to go straight for Amegakure, but he felt that deterring any trackers was a necessary measure. When he got to the Rain Village, he'd have a lot of Suiton to study up on; he had little more than a Genin's grasp of Jutsu, and if he were to become an accomplished member of Akatsuki, he'd need more than that.
