While Riku was looking down he noticed Umemaru opening his mouth somewhat involuntarily with a prolonged, deep inhalation, finishing with a heavy exhalation, from drowsiness. Riku picked him up, petting his head "Are you sleepy boy?" he asked and Umemaru fell fast asleep in his arms. Riku moved Umemaru on top of his head to rest, taking off his jacket and placing it on top of Umemaru like a umbrella to protect him from the rain so he wouldn't get a cold. Rays of light pushed through the cumulonimbus clouds as they slowly cleared, setting a transparent facade on the village and as his familiar slept peacefully on his head Riku listened to the shinobis comforting, albeit brief speech. When he got to the part about him being the new Hokage Riku was very seldom surprised but it ended when he let out a yawn, scratching his belly trying to stay awake till the end of the funeral. It was tough though because he was nocturnal like Umemaru. The best thing to do was just leave then be rude and fall asleep. Riku's stomach started to growl so he decided to get something to eat before he head off to bed. On his way out he gave a cool smile but a sloppy salute to the new Hokage and a new beginning.

Chancey didn't know if she was supposed to clap or not, so she just nodded her head respectfully at the end of the speech. The crowds began to disperse, since the funeral was over. She glanced at the Hokage standing the near the ashes. "Come with me to ask the Hokage! For moral support or something," she insisted as she gave a tug on Vol's arm. "We can go eat later." Not waiting to see if he accepted or not, she dragged him towards the Hokage with her. As they reached the Hokage, Chancey let go of Vol. She made a deep bow and took a deep breath. "Hokage-sama," she began in a steady voice. "May I ask you a question?"

Chuckling slightly Vol was dragged along towards the Hokage, and it seemed like making any objections would be pointless. He thought being dragged like that was rather entertaining, and thought she would make a good friend if she was always this random. Finally being let go as they reached the Hokage Vol smiled politely, and gave a short bow. Hearing her address him Vol decided to be quiet, and just wait for his response.

"Hmm?" Rikujin said, smiling as he looked towards the sun. His focus clicked back to his surroundings. The genin before him looked somewhat... Innocent. He gave her a quick smile. "Of course you may,"
He didn't want to decline her request, of course. Part of being a good leader was helping your Village Citizens. "What is your question?" Rikujin Katsurou Hokage

Chancey cleared her throat. Although the Hokage was only a few years older than her, he had an intimidating presence. "I'm sorry about bothering you at this time, but I would like to know what team I will be part of." She ducked her head, embarrassed, then glanced at Vol. "Um, I would also like Vol to be on my team, if that is possible." she added hopefully.

It seemed as though Chancey had presented Rikujin with his first task as Hokage. It was surely a paperwork-filled road that was left by his former teacher. Arranging the Genin was going to be troublesome, but not difficult. Rikujin sighed before he answered the Genin.
"Chancey, is it?" He looked her over. "One of the last Hyuuga's in the Leaf Village, hmm?" It was true. Many of the Hyuuga clan had emigrated to the Water Country. "I will be arranging Squads very soon. Don't worry." He gave Chancey a quick smile. "I'll consider your request. Teamwork is a big part of success in our world."
His mind drifted to memories of his time with Masuke and the rest of his team. Surely, the two of them would have made better Hokage than he.
Once again snapping to reality, Rikujin realized that Chancey and Vol were still there. "Oh... Is there anything else?" He asked politely. Rikujin Katsurou Hokage

Chancey's shoulders relaxed. "That's it" she said, nodding. "Thanks! Hope I wasn't that troublesome." She scratched the back of her head nervously. She bowed, then added, "Good luck being the new Hokage!" She turned around and began walking away, giving a sigh of relief. She had been afraid of being chewed out. Thankfully, the Hokage was nicer and less frightening than she thought.
The sun was high in the sky, signaling that it was nearly noontime. Chancey realized she still hasn't managed to get in some training in the day. Getting an idea, she turned to Vol with a malicious sparkle in her eye. "Remember when I said that I'd like to fight you?" she asked. "Let's see who's better! Byakugan vs. Uchiha. Unless you want to eat first?"

Vol listened growing happier as he heard they could possibly be in the same squad. Not even trying to hold back a smile he listened to the rest of the conversation. After the conversation with the Hokage came to a close Chancey had turned around with a facinating, but frightening look in her eyes. Smiling he nodded at the thought, "I think it would be better to build up an appetite first." After replying Vol gave a smirk, and wondered aloud. "Sooo, where are we going to do this?" He asked half to himself, and half to Chancey.

Chancey adjusted her glasses. The sunlight caught the reflection and made it shine for a moment. "Let's go back to the training ground where we were this morning. I'm scared of the forbidden forest." she decided. Then, in a sudden flash of inspiration, she added, "Loser pays for the meal!" She cracked her knuckles, trying to scare Vol. "Come on! Race you to the training ground!" As soon as the words popped out of her mouth, she dashed off. She turned her head and stuck her tougue out happily at Vol.

Rikujin sighed as he looked once more across the village. Uncapping the previous Hokage's Urn, he poured the ashes into the wind, spreading them across the village that the Hokage worked so hard to protect. Rikujin would honor his memory and spirit by doing his very best to protect the village.
Turning away, Rikujin slipped beneath the earth to move back towards the Hokage Residence. Rikujin Katsurou Hokage
