Description: Kaledan got his looks from his father. The boy is tall, with broad shoulders. He has a light tan and dark brown, almost black hair that is cropped short. His eyes are brown with green flecks, but he downright denies that his eyes are brown, stating that they are green instead. Small scars dot his hands and wrists. Another scar is right at the base of the neck, this one small as well, though he won't tell anyone how he got this one. The others he got from various roughness as a young boy.
Personality: Kaledan has a sense of humor that is a bit harsh at times. Sometimes jokes are made at the expense of someone. Around people he's not familar with, Kaledan is very quiet, hardly speaking. He rarely smiles, sometimes resorting to just grunting to people. The more he gets to know someone, if he allows that, for he's a very reserved person, the more he begins to speak to them. Eventually, someone may be able to get him to smile.
History: Kaledan was born in the Weyr and given to the women of the Lower Caverns, as is custom, to be raised. Though raised in this fashion, the youth knew who his parents were and his mother even came to visit him from time to time, occasionally with his father. His mother seemed to wish she could've raised him, but being a dragonrider took too much work and time for one to raise a child. So she'd made the wise decision.
During his younger years, Kaledan was a fairly happy and cheerful child. Then, when he was about six Turns old, his mother's green, Dirameth, Rose and a different brown, Teneth, whose rider was T'ren. This caused a lot of fighting to occur between Aleda and K'den. Kaledan, who had been spending lots of time with them until this point, spent more time with the other fosterlings. His mother would still come to see him over the next five Turns, often times with the various riders whose dragons had flown hers, for Aleda did not keep a steady weyrmate after that.
K'den hardly ever visited his son and Kaledan soon grew spiteful of his father (which lead to being spiteful of most brownriders), for the broken promises of the brownrider. K'den drank more during the Turns that followed. When he did spend some time with his son, the two rarely spoke and the visits were short.
Then the plague hit the Weyr. Kaledan somehow managed not to fall ill, but his parents weren't so lucky. Both fell to the illness and, first his father, then mother died from it. Kaledan wasn't even there for their deaths. At that point in his life, he grew solemn and quiet, hardly, if ever, smiling. The boy had already grown somewhat quiet and reserved after his parents split, but it magnified as he lost both of them to the plague.
Special: He can bend the pointer finger of his left hand completely back to the back of his hand.
