after reading this - i hafta type up my story...

my first steps in vana'diel, were breath taking. Windurst was a sight to behold to say the least. after the introduction into the game, i walked around. instantly my chat log was flooded with the shouts of others, asking for something called a Teleport-Holla or Teleport-Dem.
Equiping my Onion Sword i headed outside Leviathan Gate, and into the sunlight of East Sarutabaruta. i was amazed and wowed at the detail put into just the outside. a Tiny Mandragora crossed my path, and i decided to take my first swing in the world of Exping. one after another i took down the Mandies. untill i hit the next level....for a day i fought off yagudo and other monsters just to hit 10. after that, i went, turned in my stacks of Fire and Wind, and waited for the cash. a few minutes later, i checked in with my moogle, and had 10,000 gil from crystals in my pocket. i asked a level 65 DRK where i should goto level, and he said Valkurm Dunes. asking where it was, he said i should suit up, and he'd take me.
I bought the best equipment to my level, and obtained a new spear, then accepted the invite of the DRK. he told me we'd be taking a boat across the sea, that after we got to the Port town of Selbina i'd be better off going to Bastok to the south, or San d'Oria to the north. Tahrongi Canyon was my second zoneline, the place was different compared to it's past area...a desolate wasteland. i put on Auto Follow and just rotated the camera.
after crossing Buburimu Penn. we took the Ferry and i sat above deck, just watching the waves and the scenary wash by. the DRK sat by me, offering a trade he gave me the best gift i ever recieved. it wasn't gil, it wasn't a link shell. it was something i still hold dear to me... it was a Carbon Fishing Rod, and the Fisherman's Gear...all made with Signature Crystals, so they had his name on them.
"you'll have more use of them than then me having them sit in my Mog House all day" he said, "Moat Carp have been going up in price, i'd fish in Port San d'Oria with little worms for now." he advised.
i was speechless, i /bow'd to him and thanked him many times...and we docked. he said goodbye and wished me happy leveling...then let me go my way. getting back on the boat with a final parting piece of advice.
"Have fun, and remember, this isn't a game just about leveling Naeo. there's much more to see and do in Vana'diel."
i nodded and said "Take Care Vasha" then we left.
the Dunes were something new to me. i had a macro set up for Provoke, Ranged Attack, the whole 9 yards...but Partying, i was a little anxious.
stepping out into the bright summer sand of VD i flagged up, and let loose my macro'd shout

a few minutes later, an invite came. and i wandered over to my first party... a WHM, a BLM, THF, MNK, RDM, and myself. we all needed the subjob items. so the war for them began. we slowly became friends, and became a Valk Dunes Static.
after we got our Subjobs, we leveled them to 15, and then made our way to Jeuno. we stopped at the Crag of Holla to rejuvinate, and prepare for our trip ahead. the rain had stopped, and we all stood up, checked our Potions, our Ethers, and our Food. then set out...right as a Rainbow stretched across the Plateu. we all took a picture of it, laughing and carrying on. each of us with the four needed Greens for the 6 hour quest.
we blew through Jugner, quickly and quietly to avoid aggro.
Then came Batallia Downs, 10 yards from the zoneline, a Sabertooth aggro'd so i did what i had to, voked the beast, and ran the other way, allowing the others to zone, and sacrificing my level of 20.
"You did it Naeo! you saved us! (|Thank you|)" the BLM said
"Naeo, if i could, i'd kiss you right now" Erroneous said, adding a " /cheer " at the end of his sentence
"Naeo, you are a true warrior" the WHM said, tossing in a "/hurray"
My death allowed the other safety into Jeuno, their words describing it were enough for me, soon they found a WHM and got me a raise, with my revival, i gained enough EXP back to get 5 exp into level 20...and to do the quest with my new found friends. the Chocobo Quest was filled with our laughter, jokes and stories of hopes and dreams for our Vana'diel counter parts.
"Summoner for me" the WHM proclaimed, doing a
/em tries to summon carbuncle, but ends up summoning a Sea Horror.
"Thf/Nin or /Rng" Erroneous said, "if i'll be making with the stabby stabby, might as well have enough fire power, right?"
"BLM/WHM for myself" our BLM said. as he smiled and fed his bird for the new day. "what about yourself Naeo"
"Me? i haven't decided...i like warrior, so i'm thinking of staying as such, maybe Warrior/MNK or /NIN or something. if not - then i'll be going DRK..." i told, equiping the DRK's fishing gear and sitting down.
the six hours flew by fast, and we all geared up, restocked on food, and headed to Qufim Island. ready to see what the next stage had to offer.
Qufim was unlike the dunes by far, it wasn't sunny, or bright...just a dark and dreary place, we were all wanting to go try somewhere else...but we went through the cave, avoiding anything that might eat us. soon we made it to the Tower, and camped. Erron pulling a crab for us to beat on.
the next day, we split, the others going to the main nations to relax. me and erron pressed onward - wanting to get outta qufim.

just yesterday, i went to Yhoator jungle to aquire the Crystal there, and i found someone i hadn't seen in a while...a /tell thrown my way "So, catch any good fishies?" the Pink text read, and i read the name then turned my chocobo around to face the DRK in JSE.
"yeah, your gifts have been my cause of income. i thank you again"
" heh, no big. besides, i've been farming stuff, fishing couldn't support my level if i tried"
we talked and laughed for a little, then he did another trade...this time, the gift was more, laughable, but i took it anyway. it was a stack of Insect Paste that he had bought by accident just earlier.
"Take it"
"(|thank you|)"
he waved and i grabbed my crystal and watched them go off. no sooner than i sit down and look around Yhoator. the BLM and MNK walk up to the crag. they notice me and instantly /sh NAEO!!!!!!!!! we wave and they join me after dismounting. and we get decide to goto La Theine, right as we warp...the three of us see a Rainbow: in the exact place it was as it was so many months ago.
