Marcus gave Writ a knowing look. "Yeah... Though, I think I remember the guy getting nailed to a tree." Cheat codes were a good explanation for it, though. The only problem with that, however, was that eventually the cheaters got caught. "Back there, on the curb you just sat there. The game is last man standing. Don't you have to protect yourself?" This kid was definitely devil-may-care. A great potential ally, but a big risk taker, from what Marcus saw.

"Yeah, nailed to a tree. In an ideal world he would've died by explosion. The Bible would've probably been a lot more interesting book with a few more explosions." This was coming from the same guy who had literately read comic books for half of his life.
"Last man standing." Writ repeated it back to Marcus, "Saying never said anything about lying dogs."

The age of the godling standing before Marcus was really shining through now, he realized. "I don't think any of us could be called human any more. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not, but it's the truth." Born human, marked for changes to come far before even their parents were born. "It's weird.... our parents raised us to be human, never even suspecting that wasn't going to be the case." The musings were a triviality, but it was nice for Marcus to be able to share his thoughts with someone outside his head for once.
"Oh," Marcus said, suddenly reminding himself. He reached into his coat pocket, accidentally using a fake hand to do it. The spectral arm held aloft two business cards with designs on them. "For you to get a hold of me when you need to. When you do, rip one, and then keep the other on you. I'll come to you."

"When you play the game as much as I have, 'human' kinda starts losing it's meaning." Writ shrugged like it wasn't any big deal, "I guess I'm a special case though, that whole shapeshifting bit and all."
He still felt human. Sort of. There's just been so many strange things happening to him- he was beginning to have his doubts.
Writ took the business cards, "Sounds alright to me." He flipped the cards between his fingers, "I don't have anything so fancy, but I'll be around. Always am."

Marcus nodded. He was going to have to start keeping track of the players, once he met them all. It was going to be interesting to see where the battle lines stood.
"If the others are as decent as you, the Game will be a hard one. Decent people make difficult enemies." Zipping up his coat, he offered his hand for a shake one last time. "The offer of clothing stands until further notice, so you know. I doubt I'll be able to sell it."

"Hey, if this thing gets burnt, torn or destroyed in some shape or form, I'll call you." Writ pulled at his poncho. It was getting dirty again. He sighed, "I'll call you soon, trust me."
He shook Marcus' hand and waved, "Good luck. Things might be boring now, but I got a feeling things are gonna heat up."
