I found an amazing tailored 3/4 length jacket but it's too plain.

I have brass buttons and gold gimp braid this gives me good ideas...one problem though...no idea how I put gimp braid on a jacket...help?

also I have large sheets of lace that I was thinking about laying over top of the front of the jacket and I also am lost on how to do that.

An answer to either of these questions would be awesome.
