Soo, after working for months on pieces for solo and ensemble contests, we get reports of a huge snow storm in our area. We were hosting, so now, it's canceled. There was a girl that actually cried, because she had a five page solo she had been working on since May.
I'm not too upset, because they had signed me up to work a five hour shift.
Questions pour toi: Does your school go to solo and ensemble? Has it ever been canceled on you?
Also, have you hosted?

We've started hosting since last year, since more people from our school do it every year than any other school.
And if it got cancelled, I would flip a b***h. Seriously. I would demand that it be rescheduled at least, since I want to go to state solo and this is my last year.

They just CANCELED it? It should have just been rescheduled. That's ridiculous.
Our school always hosts the school district's middle school solo and ensemble contest. It's on February 20th - only two weeks away! I'm really excited. I love playing with ensembles and choirs.
The solo part makes me really nervous. It sucks. I messed up badly last year because my fingers were shaking so much. The worst part about it is, though, that if you're awarded the outstanding soloist award, our band director will have you play it for the spring concert. gonk It makes me almost hope that I won't get it.

Because ours got cancelled too.. like I didnt do one this year.. but my friend came up to me and hes all like "Everything we did was a ******** waste because it got cancelled!!" im like O.o wtf.. altho we are having a pretty bad snow storm razz Soo and there not even reschudling it at all :/ big waste of everyones time... i would of been pretty pissed off if i did one this year. But I didnt have a group.. i dont like doing solo's so i join ensemble... but my friends didnt want to do it this year so i didnt :/

a Group of ppl from my school went to ensemble today and all got ones They get to go to Austin Tx now they are all really really excited im so proud of themmmm!!!!!! heart blaugh heart

I do indeed. Massillon. I was like "What? We're not gonna get THAT much snow, this is stupid."
I wake up, I'm snowed into my house by a foot and a half.
And our BD said it would be impossible to find another date that would work for all the judges and the schools. :C
Also, on a side note, we don't have a choice about whether we wanna do an ensemble or not. They put us all in groups. But I'm kinda okay with not performing, because there's no way us four flutes would be in tune. At all.

My schoo doesn't do solo and ensemble. Instead,w e hold our own solo and ensemble concert, but i dn't think we are doing it this year.
We are hosting regioanls though. Which could be useful if our bd lets us leave our isntruemnts in our band lockers(though I wouldn't be surprised if he locked the locker room or made everyone not in regionals take their isntruemnts hoem the day before, because we don't have locks ont hem.)

I've never done solo/ensemble, but we do have a local one. My friends participate in it! I'm thinking I'll do it next year though.
I'm not sure if it's ever been canceled. We don't exactly have snowstorms where I live... Or any really bad weather. Ha. Sorry to hear yours canceled though. sad

They canceled because of a massive snowstorm. And it would have been next to impossible to find a date that worked for all of the schools/judges. :/

Yeah, we have a Solo and Ensemble. x] We go to another school. We had a snowstorm in our area but we went. Two other schools pulled out at last minute though, I guess. I got a Gold on my Oboe solo! (: I'm so happy since I just started playing Oboe like 2 and a half to 3 months ago. xD How did you all do?

but because of the weather it got cancelled.. and then rescheduled for yesterday lol
